We called it Southern Rock at the time, and this is a great example of it.

Heck, we still call it Southern Rock.

i think the song is more about a man that is trying to convince himself and maybe his girlfriend that he is not a domestic man, but he never leaves, he wants to appear as a rambling man but really isn't.

The Marshall Tucker Band was Progressive Country, DEFINITELY not Southern Rock. Southern Rock is Skynyrd, 38 Special, Outlaws, Molly Hatchet. Progressive Country was the precursor to the Outlaw Country movement which it morphed into a few years later.
Fire on the Mountain is a killer song that is so unbelievably under played, one of their best.

There’s a ton of Marshall tucker band songs that are underrated. Allman brother and lynyrd Skynyrd always get the attention but Marshall tucker is an incredible southern rock band
Asia & BJ, you'll love their "Can't You See"!!
Absolutely LOVE this song. There is something about it that makes me feel very nostalgic for the good old days. The chill melody and southern vibe puts me in a nice mood - great car song too 😎 "Can't You See" is another good tune by Marshall Tucker. Thanks so much guys for reacting to this old favorite. I like both your comments!🧡

I love Can’t You See. Marshall Tucker Band is so good. Reminds me of being a kid in the 70s.
Great Southern Rock. Among the best acts - Allman Brothers, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Wet Willie, Charlie Daniels Band, Sea Level, Outlaws, Atlanta Rhythm Section, Molly Hatchet and Black Oak Arkansas. The '70s were just incredible for music.

Seen every one of them especially since I was raised in Georgia in the 60s & 70s right here where they recorded a lot of those great albums, Studio One in Doraville which is home of Atlanta Rhythm Section & Capricorn Studios in Macon home of the Allman Brothers! ✌💖☮

@@SquirminHermanthe1eyedGerman I envy you, my brother. Since I was also a jazz freak, Sea Level was my fave (also Capricorn). Something about that Southern Rock/Blues/Jazz fusion. And thank God for Don Kirchner's Rock Concert for showing Williette Donna Hall bouncin' and singin' those great back up vocals for Wet Willie.

They are in same genre as Molly Hatchet, Outlaws, Skynyrd, but with a country style. Toy Caldwell wrote this song & plays lead guitar & is a legend. Watch the live version of Cant you see & you’ll see their talent. Hey and there’s flute in their music. Amazing Southern Rock Band. 🔥🔥🎸🎸
Now that's real country music! 🔥✌🤘

100%!
Great Southern Rock band comprised of some great musicians. Fantastic catalogue.
MTB was one of my favorite Southern Rock bands. They blended rock, blues, jazz, and C&W like no other band. RIP Toy & Tommy Caldwell and George McCorkle. Also, RIP to Mr. Marshall Tucker, the blind piano tuner that the band was accidentally named after. Mr. Tucker passed away 12 days ago, on January 20, at the age of 99.
“Hey man, my cousin plays the flute.” “Well shit man, tell him to come on down. We’ll find a spot for him”
Great reaction to a great song! Marshall Tucker is one of my favorite southern rock bands along with The Outlaws and Skynyrd.
One of the greatest southern rock pieces ever. Brings back so many great memories for me. My entire childhood flashes in front of my eyes when I hear this awesome tune. It's rare that you hear a flute in any type of rock song. Great instrumentals.
Searching for a rainbow is a excellent album. They had a country western sound. Country sound and a kinda club jazz jam. That was common with bands like the Allman brothers.
That's Old School Southern Rock, from the 70's, them we're the good old day's, Love ya'll and hope ya'll have a Blessed Evening 🙏
This is southern rock at it's finest. Love their music from the 70's. Some of their big hits were "Can't You See", "Fire On The Mountain" & "Heard It In A Love Song". Southern rock fiddler Charlie Daniels did quite a few collaborations with them.
I saw this tune performed live 1976 at the Costa Mesa Calif Orange County Fair…. Elvin Bishop- Marshall Tucker Band- The Outlaws….. AWESOME SHOW
Saw Marshall Tucker, The Charlie Daniel's Band, and Hank Williams, Jr in concert back in the early 90's. Best concert I've ever seen
Marshall Tucker was a blind piano tuner who previously rented the warehouse that became their studio, The name Marshall Tucker was on the key ring to the building and so they became The Marshall Tucker Band.
BJ pulled it out. Pure Southern Rock
One of the few, if not the only Southern Rock band with a Flute in the ensemble. Lots of Pianos and Guitars, but not too many Flutes, you know what I mean. Best line "Where's that duffel bag of mine, it's time to go."
He's a rolling stone, he was born a ramblin' man, he's leavin' on that midnight train to Georgia, he's a day tripper, they call him the Wanderer, he'll never stay home and he's always alone even with someone he loves, he's been out ridin' fences for so long now, they call him the breeze, he's as free as a bird now and this bird you cannot change...
Toy Caldwell is so underated it's a first degree felony. He's also one of three people that convinced me to play without a pick.

Undeniable that they are the most underrated band that deserves serious consideration for the rock n roll hall of Fame. Incredible lyrics, musicianship, and years of top notch concerts throughout the years.
This is the happiest "I can't live with you'' song ever. :)
One of my all time favs! Makes me smile every time I hear it. Love going for a drive in the country on a warm summer evening, windows down and this song playing! 🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂
They first called themselves Toy Factory. First time I heard them was in a junior high school talent show. Great band!!
Great tunes from this band.
Saw these guys warm up for the Allman Brothers Band in Saratoga, New York for an outdoor concert. Two friends and I took a bus from NYC to head north. Pouring rain the entire way until we got to Saratoga when the sun came out. Turned out to be great weather and show.
That’s southern rock!
This has got to be one of my favorite southern rock songs. Thanx for getting to it.
I liked to Jam Country & Country/Rock after Playing with our Club Band "Stillwater," I'd take my Acoustic and Play "Fire on the Mountain & Virginia," By The Marshal Tucker Band. This Tune "Heard it in a Love Song" got alot of Air Play. Thanks Asia & BJ
That great jam was recorded right here at Capricorn Studios in Macon Georgia in 1977, home of the Allman Brothers! Those were some great times back then & the music was the best especially our southern rock ✌💖☮
I never should have started loving you , another great, not played enough song by Marshall Tucker Band
When it came out they were considered 'Southern Rock' for sure...were never as huge as Lynyrd Skynyrd or The Allman Brothers, but a fine band. This one's a classic for sure.
Love love love this one!!! As a kid I always sang along to this one, good stuff
From a teenager from the 70's and a Florida boy this was one of the songs that was played on the 8 track and the cassettes driving down the back roads. Thanks for the memories great reaction guy's.

It makes me old but I look back and I was so lucky to grow up in the age of great music the late 50's, 60', and the best 70's! Then nothing has compared. We didn't know it at the time...but we do now. So wonderful to see young people appreciate it! And make us older folks happy to reminisce on the good Ole days! Much ❤️ love.
Marshall Tucker band were awesome, very freaking talented band!!!
A real car trip song on repeat! These boys are talented.
What a joyous song. I really appreciate the harmonizing and the grand scale of the musicians skill, playing their instruments 🎷 especially the piano 🎹
I live close to Spartanburg SC and had the pleasure of meeting Toy and Tommy some years ago while working near their home. The family's had a lot of hard luck with 2 of Toy's brothers dying from car accidents exactly one month apart, Tim Caldwell March 28, 1980 and Tommy Caldwell April 28, 1980.
Lynyrd Skynyrd, " Cheatin woman"! Gotta do it! You guys are 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🤘
I've always considered them Southern Rock.
One of the best Southern Rock songs! So many more to explore!
Weekends at the lake, bonfire, fishing, camping, communing!!! You just met our soundtrack 👊🏼👍🏻❤️!!!
Marshal Tucker was a kind of Southern Country that everyone loved. I was a rock fan and never listened to country radio at all and this was still on the charts getting plenty of air time on my favorite radio stations. BJ is right about the right one changing your life and making everything better. I always thought I’d find her some day.
Great song that I haven't heard in a few decades and even forgot about. Thank you for this one Peace
Today that song would be country. Back then, we had southern rock. Where the blues, rock and country came together. So soulful.
When I was a young kid and I heard it on the radio I always thought he was singing “Pretty Little Love Song”. I still sing it like that
Southern Rock from the 80's at its finest. Thanks for posting.
this is just the perfect blend of rock and county. the flute is icing on the cake. I love this song.
Saw these guys at the Westport Playhouse in STL in 1986. Small venue with perfect acoustics. Stage in the center of the room slowly rotating all night. The clerk apologized for the fact the best seats she had for me were 4th row. Best show ever!
Absolutely love this song
MTB...the kings of smooth southern rock...I love their guitar player Toy Caldwell
I love you're open mind way of listening to music I love all music, it's an expression of any artist, I just subscribed and am just discovering your channel, thanks, keep it going peace and love to you
That flute is magic!! Great band, country with a little rock!!
I love this band, thank you so much for taking the time to listen to them!
They were a Southern Rock band from Spartanburg S.C.
SOUTHERN ROCK ASIA 😊 ALLMAN BROTHERS, OUTLAWS, THERE YA GO, BJ GOT IT! 😊
You guys are amazing. I just found you all lately and a grew up with 60s\70's music. The best. I was introduced to The Marshall Tucker Band by my Southern husband when we started dating in 1979. Please listen to If I Could See you One More Time. and Silverado if you want some great Southern Rock music. You all are a adorable couple. Please continue the great show, and bless you for making me smile and feeling happy.
I grew up, listening to Marshall Tucker band and enjoyed many barbecues, listening to their music this song is one of my favorites they do not really have a bad song another song I would recommend for all to listen to is in my own way on the album where we all belong and if you haven’t heard that song, I recommend it and if you’re a true marsh Tucker fan you’re going to love it👍🏼👍🏼
When I was a kid, I thought he was singing, “purdy little love song” lol
Southern Rock classic !! Love you guys, and MTB !!
Another really good one, you two are on a roll tonight. Peace
This is good southern rock at it's best!! Can't you see is another great song. Please give it a listen.
Southern Rock was so big in the 70s that even when I was in high school in Brooklyn , NY the bands like Marshall Tucker, Poco, New Riders, Lynard Skynard and the Allman Brothers were really popular
This Old Cowboy by Marshall Tucker is a must reaction. You will not be disappointed.
Ain't gonna be the first time this old cowboy spent the night alone my favorite, they from my home state
Saw them live in their heyday! Amazing concert. I was working backstage security 👍
The Marshall Tucker band is a southern rock band from Spartanburg, South Carolina. They formed the year I was born, 1972.
24 Hours at a Time, This Ol CowBoy a new life, take the highway are all amazing too. Live in the UK 1976 is the best renditions of some of their songs.
That flute adds a happy tone to this classic song!
Marshall Tucker Band Fire On The Mountain Can't You See
One of my favorite bands of my youth.
I remember when this was out. This band and music were known as "Southern rock." However, as you have learned from other groups, there was a lot of country music inspiration. It was a great time for music. Southern Rock and Country Music were almost the same genres. When the 90s Country Music era came around, they were even closer. Today, Country Music is basically gone like music in many other genres. Talent and individuality are no more.
Very underrated band
Great song,,,,💥💥💥👍 Don't need no woman taggin' along,,,,😎
Pure magic. Everything is analog. Real vocals, no auto tune. Really talented musicians. Fabulous production and mastering. Recorded on tape!
They're Southern Rock, It's Country, rhythm and blues, and Rock
Country rock or southern rock. Dude was strong and spared her heartache. I had to do that once. It was so hard but im proud I spared her real heartache. Loved her but had to do good by her.
Love me some Marshall Tucker, thanks y'all
I got to see them in 2018 before the world stopped. They KILLED. Needless to say, they're a lot older now (aren't we all?)
One of my favorite bands all time !
The Caldwell brothers were from Moore South Carolina about 30 miles from where I live and I have always had kin living in Moore and would ride by an old two story brick school house that they used to rehearse in and recorded some of their songs in back in the early 70's. I remember hearing on the radio years ago back in the 70's also of Toy Caldwell being interviewed and he mentioned the old Schoolhouse that they turned into a recording studio. He also told the story of how they got their band name on an old interview he was doing on the Bobby Bare Show and Bobby ask him how they got the name Marshall Tucker Band and ask if there, "is a real Marshall Tucker?" Toy said, "yea, he was a blind man that tunes piano's in Spartanburg and one night about a week before the Marshall Tucker band was formed, we had a gig and we didn't have a name for our band. " He went on to say that they rented a place from Marshall Tucker to practice and on the keychain was the name, "Marshall Tucker" He said, that name for the band was, "As good as any. And that was the name of the band." Critics, told the band that a flute in a Southern Rock Band won't work, but they tried it out and that became their trademark. That flute gave a lot of their songs a very unique sound that caught on and is classic to hear to this day. Please react to, "The Marshall Tucker Band - Can't You See - 9/10/1973 - Grand Opera House (Official)".
I'm not a huge country fan but I always loved this song!
Fabulous band, fantastic live! Had the privilege and memory of seeing them on my 17th Bday (many moons ago!). Try "24 Hours At A Time" My favorite, and promise it won't disappoint!
All time banger.
I love southern rock I'm never riding with my dad in the station wagon in the 70s listening to this
Their live version of Ramblin' 1974(off the album Where we all belong) IS SIIIIICK!!!!!!!!!!
My Favorite Band of All Time. Seen them countless times. So much great music in their catalog!
You two nailed it!!! Thanks!
Marshall Tucker was southern rock band along the lines of the Allman Brothers , Marshall Tucker , Lynrd Skynrd .
Asia and BJ, The Marshall Tucker Band are from Spartanburg South Carolina.
Wife here..,My Father LOVED this song..As do I.., I was watching a documentary on VH1 about these guys and the commentator said..( and I will never forget it)..The only Southern Rock band bad ass enough to include a flutist in their band...Love It..!!..Awesome Reaction U2...Youboth are the best!!! 🌹😎
I have never gotten tired of this song since I heard it way back in the 80s. Easily one of my top 5 favorite songs of all genre ever
Really enjoying your music appreciation!
This one has a very special meaning for me. Thank you. I can still remember that hot summer night in 93 when I met her. She was such a smart, intelligent and pretty woman. This album was on her table next to the turntable. I put it on and we sat on the couch and talked. We lasted for years. She's gone now, but never will be forgotten. I'll never forget that night Sharon. RIP baby.
This song is awesome and it slams in my car with 1000 watts through two 10”subs in a band pass box!!! 😂 There song Never Trust a Stranger is awesome also!!!
