You asked what's up with the pictures on the album cover. The album is called Moving Pictures, they are literally moving the pictures, and the people crying are moved by the pictures.

The album’s back cover is yet another play on the term. It’s the same scene, but pulled back to reveal a movie (moving picture) crew, filming the whole thing. Always the clever ones.

Rush Rock! Love it! ❤ YYZ is the indicator code for the Toronto International Airport. Alex Lifeson the guitarist is also a licensed pilot and was flying them back to Toronto when Geddy and Neil heard the indicator code come on. The beat stuck with them. The beginning of the song is Morse Code for YYZ. The fast pace of the song represents busy airports and the slower part all the different countries they had visited. Rush has a number of instrumentals. La Villa Strangiato is one of their instrumental masterpieces. I suggest the official music video. also Natural Science from the Molson Amphitheatre Toronto Red Barchetta from Exit Stage Left Rush is always fun to watch live Cheers

YYZ is the code for for Toronto Pearson International Airport (Think LAX or NYC) their "home base" airport. The rhythm the song starts with is the Morse code (dot dash dot, like S.O.S) for the letters YYZ. The song is about the joy they feel after being on tour for so long and finally flying back home to be with their friends and family and just relax for a minute.

Please oh please, go down the rabbit hole of how 40s and early/ mid 50s music turned into ROCK. It’s a magical place! Try Gene Vincent’s “Rip It Up (take 7)” for example, or pretty much anything by Louis Jordan, AKA the Grandfather of Rock & Roll. (And be sure to treat yourself to The Trashmen’s LIVE performance of Surfin’ Bird, even if it is a few years past the sweet spot!)

This is kind of like the prog litmus test for people who are new to it - if you can get onboard with YYZ and not have trouble just going with where it leads you, you're pretty much ready to take any kind of prog adventure you want. It can get much, much crazier, or it can be a lot easier... but this is the track that will attune your perspective for it.
