I’m a 64 year old “rocker chick” that has completely fallen in love with Ren. I don’t care what type of music you like, Ren somehow crosses all genres and boundaries and even generations, to come up with a work of art that anyone can relate to! ❤ My favorite part in the song is when he starts singing: So cower at the man I’ve become When I sing from the top of my lungs That I won’t retire, I’ll stand in your fire Inspire the meek to be strong That is so inspirational!! Ren is not only a master story teller, he’s also the King of the one-take, live videos. This 9+ minute video was not only recorded live, it was shot in one take (with multiple cameras). If you want to check out another AMAZING ‘story’ (as well as another one-take live) video- he tells a story with three videos in one- The Tale of Jenny & Screech (Full). Make sure you watch the “full” version so that the three stories are in order and will make more sense than if you watch them individually (and heaven forbid, out of sequence). It will absolutely blow your mind! 🤯 Welcome to the RENagade! It’s a rabbit hole well worth diving into! 🤘🏼

This was done live and in one take. He is an amazing artist with a exceptional catalog. The 3 parts of The Tale of Jenny and Screech is amazing and should be watched all at one time. Welcome to the Ren rabbit hole. He is a strong advocate for mental health. Not everything is this deep, however, everything he does is this memorable. He is a true genius, self taught on guitar and keyboards. He has recently been undergoing medical therapy for the complications of years of misdiagnosed Lymes disease in Calgary. A little more of his backstory is that his best friend committed suic*de by jumping from a bridge. Ren was on his way to try to stop him but didn’t make it in time. Ren pours all of his pain into his music, so everything you see/hear is authentic.

Ren covers most genre's; he is a poet, storyteller, rapper, singer, beatboxer, producer and multi-instrumentalist. There's a deep catalogue between his solo stuff, 2 bands and various people he's collaborated with. As for who he is; he has Lyme's disease that went misdiagnosed for years and as such was allowed to run rampant doing unchecked damage that many doctor's told him was all in his head and medicated him accordingly. Now, 14 years later, he's much better but still trying to find ways to reverse that damage. I guess we'll see if you liked it or are interested enough to check out more of his music...

His community is intensely loyal. If you are at all interested in his POV and why we all live him so much- check out his thank you for 1 million views. We are starving for authentic and safe places to exist at a time when all of us are struggling. You getting choked up a bit… that moment is why I watch reactors. That spark of connection where something that hits home with you lands in the reactors face…and you realize over and over how NOT alone you are. At least for me. Oddly the world makes more sense when music gives you freaking goosebumps and expresses the dark places out loud and unapologetically

Here is some additional information on Ren's story that I gathered from old newspaper interviews, articles, and Ren's public livestreams and posts. A handful of people frequently post an earlier version of my comment to various reactions that they copied and pasted verbatim, so if this is a repeat just ignore this comment. I keep editing the information, as needed, and have removed details about Ren that some found to be too personal, such as his full name and D.O.B. All the information here was gathered exclusively from sources Ren personally approved for public release. Ren is a Welsh musician/independent artist/producer, self-taught multi-instrumentalist. He pursued a career in music from an early age. In 2009, while studying music performance at Bath Spa University, Ren began to experience health issues and was struggling to attend his lectures, which eventually caused him to discontinue his studies and return home. In addition, Ren was signed by Sony Records in 2010 and was working on an album when his health deteriorated to the point that he was unable to go on; consequently, his contract with Sony was dissolved. Ren would later relocate to Brighton. Ren's illness often kept him in bed for up to 23 hours daily. Ren was initially misdiagnosed with depression, bipolar disorder, and chronic fatigue syndrome, which led him to experience psychosis and develop PTSD. It would take seven years before a doctor in Belgium finally correctly diagnosed Ren with autoimmunity, Lyme disease, and resulting damage to the brain, organs, joints, and PTSD. Ren eventually underwent stem cell therapy in the United States, which improved his health, but it has not been a cure. Ren is in Calgary, Canada for at least six months (Summer of 2023), undergoing treatments such as IV therapy and other interventions five days a week, as well as surgeries (wisdom tooth removal and cavitation surgery). His Canadian doctor discovered that Ren also developed a condition called Mast Cell Activation Disorder (MCAD), which has affected the myelin sheath in his brain, his thyroid, and adrenals as well as his bones/joints. Hence, Ren is receiving additional treatments for this previously undiagnosed condition. He recently took a break from treatments and returned to the UK to visit family and friends, and to produce some very ambitious musical projects to be released soon. Let's keep supporting Ren as he undergoes his treatments. Check out and subscribe to his channel; if you are a content creator, ask your audience to subscribe to Ren. Ren's YT channel just surpassed 1 million subscribers. and his videos have garnered millions and millions of views. Listen to some of his earlier work, like and comment on his performances, and let's lift Ren's spirits. If you are a believer, pray for him. Ren is an artist with something to say to the world, and his work is important in these troubling times. Someone has finally created a Wikipedia page for Ren, so there is additional information available.

Ren is every Genre, he is his own Genre. With Hi Ren he is creating a movement to bring mental health into the light and to uplift everyone to bring about true change as a society. He has struggled with physical and mental health as I’m sure others in your comments will fill you in on. His catalogue is huge and well worth exploring, I’ve not heard a bad song from Ren yet. The Big Push is also phenomenal, the band members being incredibly talented as well. I really hope to see more of Ren on your channel. 🖤

Oh good sir!!! Welcome down the Ren rabbit hole on a roller coaster! Ren is pure art. He's a walking talking metaphoric thesaurus. Self-taught before he went to school. Makes his own beats, plays the piano, guitar, and bass. From your intro you mentioned some music you like I would definitely check out some of The Big Push. His voice is just pure magic. He acts out his performances and produces everything. Most of the time with the assistance of Sam behind the cam in master of one shots. Hi Ren took 4 tries before they got kicked out. The one you wash is the fourth take. He seriously has some of the most emotional and POWERFUL songs and lyrics. He has changed my life. Keep going down the rabbit hole bro! I'm a Tool and Alice in Chains fan. Both bands have dropped one spot in my top three. Ren sits at #1. Check out "Chalk Outlines" with Chinchilla. Then there's a trilogy of performance art. The Tale of Jenny and Screech, then Violet's Tale. Check it out beats and his lyricism with "The Hunger". Then a little bit of EDM Fisher mix in "Losing It". The RENegades like watching people see Ren and hear his music for the time. KEEP THEM COMING! Sick Boi October 13th, $5 downloads for the full album.

I am so happy to see Ren on your channel. Your emotional reaction is common as that internal voice is something we all struggle with. On varying levels of severity. I would strongly recommend more of his catalog. His music is so powerful and wide ranging. I would do the Tale of Jenny and Screech next. Make sure you do the Trilogy, which is 3 videos spliced into one. Others to watch are Chalk Outlines, Murderer, Su!cide, Illest of Our Time, Animal Flow, The Hunger, Genesis, and Sick Boi.

I’m an oldie; started following you for your 70s-80s rock (Queen in particular) - but will definitely be along for your Ren ride (which I hope you will take)! Be sure to check out his songs/covers with his busking band ‘The Big Push’.. they do some mean covers which I’m sure you’ll enjoy! BTW - this is live.. 4 takes and he took the best of the 4. Most of his videos are live - one take! Thank-you… great reaction; I’ll be along for your Ren-ride for sure.

Patience is a song Ren did when he was pretty much in the worst of his health struggles, confined to his room more than 20 hours a day and having serious doubt that he would ever see his 30’s. It shows incredible strength of character. (Live version recommended. The song is also featured in Unrest, a documentary about MCE/ chronic fatigue.)

Welcome to the multitalented genius that is Ren! As crazy as it sounds, this masterpiece is just the tip of the iceberg. You never quite know what you get next with Ren, but it is always great. I think for you though, a good next step down the Ren rabbit hole is Crutch feat. Bibi. Or maybe Lost All Faith. Honestly though there are no bad picks when it comes to Ren. You might come across some songs where the genre is too far out of your comfort zone, but the level of quality is always obvious. Ren is just something special. Not just as an artist, but as a human being too. I recommend checking out his 1m subscribers video on defining success if you are curious about who he is. For many he is a light in the darkness. Ren is the Original "Bardcore Genre Bender" The Master Bard himself ( Shakespeare ) would have understood exactly where Ren was coming from. Ren isn't just a songwriter but rather a Performance Art Master who blends music and character acting from all the styles over the last 500 years and makes it modern and relatable to all generations even if normally you may not be a fan of whatever genre he is currently performing. While most good Performers can envoke some emotions in their audience, Ren is an Emotion Master who has control of all of them, From the Feel Good Vibes of Bongo Bong, to the Rebellion of Illist Of Our Time, to the Tragedy of Jenny and Screech, to the Mind Bending Rap Flow of Losing It, and the Internal Psych War of Hi Ren, Ren has it All! The Ren Rabbit Hole is Deep and Powerful! Get Ready for the Ride of your Life!

To me the final speach of the song has always been the key to decipher the song. In the begginig you can tell hes been trying to defeat the forces if evil that are inside his own mind. For him the battle feels like david vs goliath. He lacks confidence and hope and so he stukbles through it clumsaly. Finally when the demons become so dark it forces an oppsiite response. The darker the shadow the brighter the light. And we meet that light in the forn of hope. When hope begins his voice is deep and groggy. He speaks slowly and carefully as if just awakend from a slumber. He tells ren that he has spent half his life ill. This makes sense because those who suffer chronically, the first aspect of their pyscbe to be effected is their hope. So hope has been ill for a long time. And hes been absent. But not gone. His will is eternal and just as the nighy has dawn so to does ren have hope. As hope starts talking he starts to find his stride and speak louder abd more confidently. He is there For one reason, to come face to face with the beast. For hope is the only one that can stand in the flames without even shouting. He will rise like the sun and be wherever he is required. Weather thats the top of a mountain or the bottom of the ocean. So hope maoes eye contact with the audience for the first time In the song, he wants to make sure ges getting his point across. What have the demons been tellin ren this whole time?that hes not musically gifted enough. So once ren has hope, what does he do? He sings at the top of his longs and dances around, kicking his feet high into the air. The dance just got easier.

First, lOVE your shirt. Aside, really enjoy watching reactions to Hi Ren. Consensus is that they cant put him in a specific genre but, like you, they all admit he is a genius. 30% of the reactors are in tears.the flickering lights, the discordant notes, the pitch and speed of his voice all display the manic side. The courage and tone when he stands pulls this all around showing strength he and we can choose. this a masterpiece.

Glad to see you finally joining the Ren parade. He’s pretty amazing as a performer, and a good human. You’ll discover that he has C a lot of talented collaborators too, Sam Tompkins, Chinchilla, Eden Nash, Romain Axisa who us also a member of the band The Big Push. ;the rest of TBP are aksi imoressive, but but actively releasing new stuff just now and getting reactions).

Welcome to the Ren rabbit hole! It never disappoints. So a few recommendations for you: Sick Boi, The Hunger, What You Want, How To Be Me, Chalk Outlines & Suicide... to start. [Btw... you'll want to check out Chinchilla... but I wont need to tell you... you'll see. BUT... do watch her Fingers LIVE performance. Its spectacular!] Money Gamr Part 1 & Money Game Part 2 [the lyric video] are a good choice too... & part 3 arriving soon. Theres so much more... but that will give you a taste.

this is not just a song. it's a testimony, a sermon, a therapy session that can help heal. we all struggle with our shadow self and yes the more expectations you put on yourself the harder that negative self-doubt or anxiety will try to fight change. learn to forgive yourself. don't beat yourself up if things don't pan out like you had hoped. and you are never alone or unloved. the good in you is more powerful than the shadow. you choose who wins.

I have kind of become addicted to watching reactors watching REN for the 1st time. Just to see that reaction I hear from all of them , ( WOW ) !! Most are left speechless ! I would think Ren has a great life in store for him, and he deserves it ! With his aspirations I am hoping the world will hear and really listen to him !Maybe some songs with love and happiness mixed in with the tragedy and Pain ..

For the past 6 months, since I found Ren, I've asked many of the reactors I'm subscribed to, to react to Ren. I joined YT to find new acts. Now I'm hardly surprised that new artists have trouble being heard, I've found that the reactors who've responded most enthusiastically to Ren have been new ones. Any idea why?

Thank you, I could see the impact it had on you,I think it has similar impact on anyone with a brain, a pulse and even a smidgen of emotional empathy. We all can relate to struggles, Ren’s have been extreme and his bravery in performing such emotionally honest music, is astounding. He deserves the respect and I only hope his recovery from now on, is less stressful than it has been thus far. He’s still in Canada, I think, on his own for the most part, having stem cell therapies and some operations to try to repair the damage the medical “professionals”did to him over the last 10years, with misdiagnosis & prescriptions for medications he didn’t need that actually did damage to him. REN, has a talent matched only by how big his heart is and how much he cares about others. We all care about him, he is indeed a genius. Love from Annie, in Cornwall, UK🙂🌸

Common Stages of Reaction for the song 'Hi Ren' by Ren: This looks creepy. Pig mask, ha. Guitar sounds nice. Nylon strings. Oh he’s singing. Falsetto. I did not expect that. Will the whole song be like this? Okay, he’s rapping now. Cool. He's good. Has anyone noticed he looks like Tommy Shelby? This guy is scary. Now he seems nice. Oh I see what he’s doing. This is interesting, it's like Eminem or Plan B. This is intense. Time has lost its meaning. The mean guy is a jerk. This is INTENSE! Make it stop, I need to cry a bit. I haven’t blinked or taken a breath in four minutes. OMG THERE GOES THE 4TH WALL!!! How did he know what I was thinking? YES! You tell him Ren. You are a genius! Okay, scary just guy got way scarier. (You didn't know it was the devil, you would have dressed properly.) And then the hopium arrives. 'Loosen the noose on the rope'. You, you, just can't, but he lifts you up and... HOLY SHITBALLS HE CAN SING!!! Damn, he can really sing. OOO-OO-OO-OO-OO-... (your head bobs, tears in your eyes, you get it now) I need some time to be still, wait there's more? He's talking to me and peering into my soul. I was not expecting to feel this much. (you sit in deafening silence as you contemplate existence) "Good art makes you think about the art, great art makes you think about your life."
