This happened to me last week, and I've got to share this story, not to pat myself on the back. But to show that you need to listen for God's voice. This morning, I got up a little later than I would like. Being off today, I was planning on going to WalMart early to get a few things so I wouldn't have to deal with the crowd. Usually if I can't get there by 9, I'll go to Kroger. They have the things I can use on certain dishes, just don't carry the brands I like. Anyway, I got up around 11 or so and was getting ready to go to Kroger, when I heard this voice telling me to go to WalMart. So, I went and got the things I usually get and the crowd really wasn't that bad for this time of year. As I was headed back to my car, an elderly lady came up to me and ask if I had a jump box. Of course I always have one with me so I said yes. She ask if I would jump her and her husband's van. Of course I said yes. Anyway I got them started and she ask me what she owed me. I gave my usual answer of a million dollars, and told her just have a blessed day. She told me they had been asking people for 45 minutes if they had one, and no one did, or wouldn't stop or whatever. She told me I was like their Angel. And I thought to myself, it's been about 45 minutes since I heard the voice. You see, this woman was asking God for help. He didn't magically make their car start, but He sent the message. I was raised to know to be obedient. I didn't know why I was going to WalMart other than to get a few things. But I was the answer to someone who had ask God for help. I went to WalMart to get groceries, but when I saw the smile on that couple's faces when their car started, I received a whole lot more. So please listen for His voice, and be obedient. You just may be the answer to someone's prayer.

When he gets into those baritone notes, it will give me goosebumps. Forevers and Ever Amen, is one of his big hits too. He can't really sing anymore because he's had a couple of strokes that made it where he can't hardly speak more than a word or 2, and he doesn't have much mobility.

This song dropped in 2002. Travis went on a tour to promote it and he joined the John Hagee crusade. They came to Vancouver, Canada, and my mom and me went. I was familiar with Hagee, but, I don't think my mom was, she wanted to see Randy Travis, and it was free, so we went. My dad passed away a few months previous and we were both in shock still. The service was a prosperity gospel, and it was quite different from what we were used to, but, Randy was very good, and he sang this of course. My mother was excited to see him after the concert. My mom passed in 2019, and this song will always remind me of her, and that special night.

Randy is an absolute legend whose heyday was mostly in the mid 80s to early 90s. When this song was released in 2002, it had been a few years since he'd had a hit. It's from an album of gospel and other spiritual songs, which music industry people discouraged him from making. It ended up being one of the biggest albums of his career, built mostly on the success of this song. It makes just as much impact on most people as it did for you.

I'm surprised yall haven't done more of Randy's music. He has so many great songs. Forever and ever, Amen, and 1982 come to mind. His voice is one of a kind. I recommend you dive down that Randy Travis Rabbit hole. You won't regret it.

Randy's signature deep voice and old country sound. You'll love his songs like everyone else did in the day. He even did tons of duets with old school singers like George Jones. None of his other songs are sad like this one - don't worry.

Saw Randy Travis about a decade ago in a small venue. Each member of his band had been playing with him over 20 years each. I've never heard such a flawless concert.

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve sat here and binged your channels and laughed and cried with ya’all. We don’t know each other but there is such a connection and sense of community here. Randy Travis has a special place in my heart. He reminded me of my Grandfather for some reason, who used to sing to us and had a strong yet gentle way. He was killed by a drunk driver when I was 11. His name was Randy. Thanks for listening to this. I would love to see you react to Forever and ever, Amen. My family got together at a country festival right after my grandpa died and sang it together as a family for him. ❤

Quite a gut-punch for a song over 20 years old. The part that hit me hardest was about the Teacher. Why is it that we tend to be adults before we realize that the most memorable and wonderful people we've ever met, sat at that big desk everyday for us?

Randy Travis' first big hit was called 1982. When it was released and no one knew who he was yet that voice came on the radio and it was one of those moments when you stop whatever you were doing and ask "who is that??"

Randy is an absolute icon. He is in failing health now , after suffering a massive stroke several years ago. He can no longer sing, and is confined to a wheelchair. Not only a fantastic singer, but has several movie credits to his name, as well. Please check out Deeper than the holler Forever and ever, Amen Diggin up bones His catalog is amazing. This is one rabbit hole you'll never get tired of.
