👑 3 Months later and I'm replying. I probably became a Queenie in Jr High School 1979-1982. Around the Flash Gordon time, but I still enjoyed "A Night at the Opera" and "A Day at the Races". Oddly enough, I seem to be the young guy in this group lol, born in '66. 👑

Brian May wrote this as one of the songs for the movie "Highlander". Freddie sang with more emotion than any other singer I've ever heard.

Of course we feel all those emotions, that is a big reason we all love Queen. The Band always gives it their all and then some every time they perform. Welcome to being a Queen fan.

Queen has a wonderful way of pulling you into a song from start to finish. The 4 of them each had extraordinary musical abilities and all 4 wrote their own songs which is why no 2 songs are alike. And Freddie, well Freddie was a once in a lifetime performer. The legend he always said he'd become 👑

As an Elder 👑Queeny👑, in my humble opinion I believe Freddie transcended from Icon to LEGEND. This one gets me weepy. Back in the late 80's -90's I lost friends to the AIDS pandemic. More than once this song got played at the memorials/funerals. So it hold a special place for my community. Yes, Queen speaks to all of us in a special way. And again, thank you for a great video. 🖖

Like "Princes of the Universe", this was written for the movie "HIghlander". The character is an immortal who must watch his mortal wife age and die while he lives on. This song plays as she lay dying. "Goodbye my bonny Heather". 🙁 May I challenge your Queen journey with something completely different? "Seaside Rendezvous" (lyric version). It's one of my go-to happy songs. Thanks, Stan and welcome to the Queendom. Cheers.

It's lovely how Brian starts off the song, with Freddie coming in later. I really wish Queen had done duets with each other. I realize they all sang harmonies together, but some bona fide duets (or trios) would have been something else in my book.

Queen does that to me too, Stan! They could do any genre and never be boxed. They all did have different styles but the music never faltered, one single bit. Thank you for going down this Queen journey! I understand there is a difference between era's in music types, but the quality never failed, IMO. Now Hot Space was an experiment, but in The Works they had a mixture of both, IMO.QUEEN!!!1

HI STAN… “QUEEN!👑” YES, Freddie makes me “tear up” on a regular basis. He also makes me feel encouraged every day, and the whole band/all of their music lifts my spirits every day. (Especially the music that Freddie & Montserrat Caballé did together.) IF YOU’RE PREPARED TO REALLY. CRY, THO… YOU. SHOULD. WATCH. THIS! (The link below is for Freddie’s live performance of “Who Wants To Live Forever”… This is from the lesser-known FIRST night (FRIDAY, JULY 11) of Queen’s two-day “Wembley Weekend” back-to.back concerts in 1986.) His RAW EMOTION will make your hair stand on end. 😳🥺🤯😭 kzread.info/dash/bejne/mX11taqfj8XFcrg.htmlsi=hF261YV8yITAqWiV

The 1986 Highlander film is worth a watch PLUS the Queen soundtrack is amazing!! 🛡⚔️ The film stars Christopher Lambert, Sean Connery, & Clancy Brown!! Plot? The battle of the immortals until the last one is standing AND the only way to kill an immortal is to behead them. Then comes the “Awakening” .. receiving the power from the dead immortal. 💥🗡

BTW, STAN… “QUEEN!👑” (As per your request at 10:30) 😉😘😆 REQUEST: “SOMEBODY TO LOVE” LIVE at MILTON KEYNES BOWL in 1982 (I’m sure you’ve reacted to the more-well-known performance at 1981 Montreal (EVERYONE reacts to that one). This other rendition from the MILTON KEYNES “Fire At The Bowl” (as the concert is named)… Is actually the version that Queen put in their official compilation of Best Live Performances! (AND believe-it-or-not, EVERY reactor I’ve seen who has watched/“compared” the two different performances, has actually been even MORE impressed with the 1982 Milton Keynes gig.😳)

Brian wrote this beautiful song and he and Freddie sing and take it to the next level. This is one of the Queen songs that Adam Lambert sings with them that is as equally as emotional if not more because he's singing his heart out to the victims of the Pulse nightclub shooting the night before. Even Roger Taylor said he hadn't heard it sung like that before. It's one song you should check out. Queen and Adam Lambert at the Isle of Wight Festival Who Wants to Live Forever. He takes the notes to another level.
