One of the band members was going through an emotionally painful divorce. That's the inspiration for the song.

Yep, this is my era of music! I'm so happy to be listening to it again. As a young black girl I listened to all genres (Soul, R&B, Rock, Heavy Metal, Country, Pop, Opera, Jazz, Classical, Some Blue-eyed Soul, etc... I liked it All) of music as most of the people I associated with did too. So glad to see that younger generations, like yourself, are now hearing some of the great music of the past. I love your style of the reviews. Keep diving into the good stuff... Music that is... Lol!😊

This is one of the first songs I ever liked on my own in 1978 when I was 10 and just starting to get into music. Still a good song ☺

Back in the 70's, the record label K-Tel used to put out greatest hits albums from various mixed artists. This song was on EVERY K-Tel album ever released, I believe. A true classic.
