You got it exactly right with the contact lenses. Kevin was like yeah no, gimme the glasses. He and Avi had never worn contacts before. You can see how red Avi's eyes are, he was *just* able to make it through the shoot with those things in. Most countertenors are guys with voices in the typical male range, who trained a long time to be able to sing in the soprano range, but Mitch's voice is an outlier, being naturally that high, so he just rolls out of bed and sounds like an angel.

I think you'd love their spin on "Bohemian Rhapsody" and "Imagine." For something completely different, their "Evolution of Music" is a brilliant intro to their Evolution mixes for individual artists.

The vocals were recorded in a closet, the video in Avi and Kevin's kitchen, and the video cost 400 dollars to record. They had to spend money on the video editing, but I'm not sure anyone knows exactly how much that cost, and they use the same editing company to this day. The air sounds are almost always done by Avi, because the man is a genius at overtone singing (two notes at one time, and he is so good that one note can be one melody, and the other note is another, there are videos on KZread, go check them out). Pentatonix won their first grammy for this song. They issued this video fairly quickly after they lost their recording contract (which was probably a blessing in disguise). And they can ABSOLUTELY do this song live. There is a fan recording of them doing it without microphones at a VIP fan event, and although you can't hear the lowest notes you can tell Avi is absolutely putting the work in, the audience in the room can hear him, the phone microphone just can't. And you should absolutely check that out too, it's GENIUS!!!

Yep. One of the biggest, worst mistakes that Sony Music ever made was dropping these five awesome people. Back then, it was still seen as 'okay' for execs and companies to bash people who are on the LGBT spectrum and refuse to work with them.

@@super_siri Sony knows how to market ANYTHING. PTX could have been marketed along the same lines as any Pop group that Sony ever had, it's not rocket science to figure out. How many employers do you know that won't cover something up in order to keep themselves from looking like the bad guy? Sony has been shady since before Mariah joined them (her debut album was sometime around 1989). OF COURSE they will cover their own butts. They will tell whatever lie they have to tell in order to stay in business, like any other soul-less multi-national corporation.

There is a reason this one won them a Grammy, lmao. It is in fact my favorite mix or melody of songs they have ever done.

Kevin didn't refuse to wear contacts; his eyes were unable to tolerate them. Judging by how red Avi's eyes were he was having trouble, too. Their budget was all of $400, most of which went for makeup and one ring light. The makeup presumably included the contacts, which means we aren't talking top of the line lenses here. The audio was recorded in one of their closets, for the acoustics. The video was shot at a kitchen table.

Their version of “Can’t Hold Us” will blow you away.

Great reaction. Thanks. Mitch talks in a lower tone a lot of the time. Mitch changes his speaking voice depending on his mood at the time that he's speaking. It is not always high.

Perfume melody I highly recommend

I could see this group lasting long after all the original members decided to leave. They could totally have Vegas shows 40 years from now where occasionally they'll stop by for an opening or special event. Every few years an elderly Mich gets carried in like Cleopatra and reminds everyone why they're there.

So PTX made this video in their kitchen and a small closet, for a little over $700 bucks...this was "babytonics" way back in the beginning and this video won them their 1st Grammy. Amazing what a little creativity, ingenuity and amazing kickass vocals can do for you...oh and a freaking killer work ethic!!!! ❤🤩💥
