I remember the first time I heard this tune on MTV. I went and bought it 15 minutes later. Nirvana was cataclysmic to the music scene. It changed forever. Losing Kurt Cobain so fast though, hurt the industry as well. It hurt music, period. That drummer is a young Dave Grohl. Google him - he's one of my fav musicians of all time.

I don’t listen to nirvana so much anymore but when I do, I’m still amazed by how well the songs have held up. And the way it makes me feel! He's probably for real. Teen Spirit was released in 1991, 28 years ago. I was too young to understand music back then but had I been the same age as this guy, I wouldn't have known over 20-year old songs either. Granted, music from the 90s is a lot more accessible and current today than what 60s music was in the 90s.

Love how it was like in a high school gym like a pepper rally gone mad. The basketball hoop the kids in the stands, And even a high school janitor. They just let it out so hard and every teenager, which I was in 1991 found they could just let out all their angst, pain, and confusion of the time. We had just entered the gulf war. This entire album never mind became an album of our lives. They change music forever. RIP Kurt. Listen to lithium, come as you are, and especially the MTV unplugged version of my girl

So imagine this dropping in today's environment: some small band from Seattle, playing in a bit of a garage band style and wearing thrift store clothing. A group not taking about money and possessions but connecting with the loners and less popular kids. I used to tell people it would be hard to imagine the impact, but honestly, if it happened today, it would be just as seismic of a shift as it was back in 91/92.

@@djangorinvisible3330 For sure, but other than Metallica's Black album and maybe Guns N Roses, 1991 was all about R&B (and Garth Brooks). When Nevermind went to #1, it knocked of Michael Jackson's Dangerous album. Nobody expected the album to sell and it altered music history. So it would be exactly like you would imagine if it hit today and because popular. (I do kind of agree it wouldn't make the same impact though because its all about singles now).

Kurt Cobain always said this song sounded like a Pixies rip off. Highly recommend a Pixies listen, even if you don't do a reaction video.

My 4 yr old grandson who's tiny, blonde wth huge blue eyes & looks like an angel LOVES this song & sings it, word perfect & leaps from the table with his air guitar & sneers & growls & i think hes going to be a real heavy grunge metal man in the not too distant future! LMFAO

Of course you've heard it. It was the international youth anthem for the western world of the 1990s. You couldn't go to a high school dance without hearing it. Our senior motto (1992), stitched to our jerseys (Australia) was "Oh well, whatever, nevermind"...

The wresler Diamond Dallas Page came out to a version of this. That's probably where you remember it from if it was wrestling.

You probably heard it alot of places my friend, it is one of those massive hit songs that get played everywhere!! Teen spirit was a deodorant brand wildly popular amongst adolescent girls back in the 90s, so it was kind of sarcastic but it is an important song in the sense that it brought grunge into the mainstream. Glad to see a new video from you. If you like nirvana check out soundgarden. Their big hit is called black hole sun but I really prefer black days or fresh tendrils
