The lead singer, Tarja Turunen is a classically trained lyrical soprano from Finland. At her era, Nightwish was a symphonic metal band at it`s finest. This was her last concert with Nightwish, after which she has had a really nice solo career. That singing bassist, Marko Hietala has also gone solo and they just released Marko`s solo single featuring Tarja, a song called Left on mars. From this concert, the end of an era 2005, I would suggest for you Slaying the dreamer and Ghost Love Score. Fantastic songs and performances. Also, from Tarja`s solo career, Supremacy (Muse cover) from Woodstock 2016 and from her classical side, Ave Maria by Paolo Tosti. She is amazing.

Call it symphonic metal. Next watch "Ghost Love Score" from Walken 2013. Different singer but a great live performance. Nightwish is the name of the band. They were formed in 1996 and are still active. Their 10th album comes out this September. Their live performances are better than other bands studio work.

Welcome to the world of symphonic metal!! This was the original singer and co-founder of the band Tarja Turunen, it was her voice that helped Nightwish define the genre! Her era was for me the best as the songs were very fantasy/beauty and beast based and fit her vocals perfectly. Nightwish is a band from Finland, the lead singer is the original singer of Nightwish and opera trained *Tarja Turunen* Nightwish did an amazing job on this cover of Andrew lloyd webber musical, Tarja and *Marko Hietala (bassist)* are legendary voices combined. This is a good start to this band with the original singer, there were other 2 more after. This whole concert is epic and flawless. Other great songs to check out from this *End of an Era* live concert is *Sleeping Sun*, *Ghost Love Score* but the 2005 version and *Ever Dream* Thank you, love your reaction 💖

@@GStringTarzan Ghost love Score is not the original with Floor and a remake, and changed to fit Floors voice, the original will always belong to Tarja, and was originally written for her voice, nothing beats originals, it's like Adam Lambert singing the original songs of the Legend Freddie Mercury it's no longer the band Queen and becomes a different band and a remake, nothing beats and can match the original frontman or woman of any band but whatever makes you happy, all the best and stick to what you like.

You ain't seen nothing yet. Your introduction to symphonic metal. The bands latest singer is regarded as one of the most versatile leads out there. This was a cover of the Andrew Lloyd Weber musical/play by the same name "Phantom of the Opera." You haven't really see the best of Nightwish yet. Keep digging and you will be pleasantly surprised. Both Tarja (the lead in this video) and the new singer (Floor Jansen) are classically trained. Tarja is Finnish and Floor Dutch. The band has evolved over the past couple of decades.
