Nightwish died the day they let her go. Now they play fricking flutes and widpipes for god sake my god how low they fell, good thing marco jumped ship before the shameful descent into folk music they had, meu deus, i miss the good old metal days

@@tzzeek haha true don’t forget people think Floor sings opera LOL. That’s is not opera, it’s sound horrible, and don’t get me started on her growling, she only sings pop that’s it. I love floor in her older days. It just sucks now that I would never ever see 1996-2005 nightwish live ever again. Man I am envious of those people

@@FluffyLaDooDoo You can tell most reactors when they watch phantom of the opera get their brains blown away and are left speechless but can't say much because by then they usually started with ghost love score and they can feel the fans will be disappointed if they admit they love tarja more than floor so they just go with the there's no point to compare thing but deep inside you can tell whom gave them shivers and goose bumps.

@@tzzeek I think that Nightwish is Tuomas. Players and singers are instruments for him. Like brushes are for painters. He makes his music to soot his singers and players. So off course his music is better for some singers in some songs and worse in some. May be it is time for you also to travel in to the future. Nightwish doesn't owe you anything and if you just miss everything you never learn anything new.

Their version of this song is one of a handful that definitely equal or even beat the original. I saw Nightwish live with Tarja as their lead singer back in 2003. Yes, it was just amazing.

I'm quite fond of the musical The Fantom of The Opara, which I've seen several times at the theater, but this is actually my favorite version of that track 🙂

Yes I know phantom is not actually OPERA but Tarja ( taR-yeeA) actually can and HAS sang opera pieces. Her solo career going strong. Touring Brazil as I write this. A warm deep chest voice and a full on high soprano. Just can't go wrong. Been a solo artist after this concert. October 2005. Recorded in Helsinky Finland. End of the world tour for the 5th album, Once. Tour was called Once upon a tour. Kittos is Finnish for thank you. Night wish has had 2 lead singers since. Anette Olzon 06-10. And now Flor Jansen. Experienced lead vocalist with a few bands before Nightwish. She agreed to a contract for a year, then officially joined the band as a full member in 2011. Before and currently Flor and Tarja are friends and have appeared together online and in person to duet together. One song Flor refused outright to ever sing was bye bye beautiful. It was a dig at her friend. That is what you'd expect from a friend. Marko retired last year due to hearing damage. I know he has made up with Tarja and they did appear together a few years ago. NW still performing and still popular.

Completely agree! This song was "made for Tarja" and Marko is the real underdog.

While Floor is absolutely amazing and Nigthwish isn't Nightwish without her these days, this particular song just showcases perfectly what Tarja was. She's only ever been trained in classical style and sticking to that when paired with heavy metal was what MADE Nightwish. Not to mention that during this show Jukka (the drummer) was suffering from a debilitating migraine brought on by his chronic insomnia (that's why you can see him holding his head at the start) and Tarja herself had horrible flu to the point where she could barely make a sound during the pre-show practice. Mad respect!

I'm not a huge fan of there music, but I should be, I've liked every song, I heard from them. I don't think they do many covers, but I could be wrong also, ha. I do know the broadway song or musical version, and they killed it with this performance guys.

Do you know the german band "Feuerschwanz"...? You should try the "Warriors of the world"-cover thy did. Trust me, you'll like it very much. One of the covers, that are better than the original...!

But Flor can't reach the highest notes in the aria. Hence the trade off. Not a dig and nor saying one thing better than the other. Its personal choice. I am sure plenty of post 2010 NW well suited to Flor ans less Tarja. So what? She is having a very succesful solo career and NW has their career. If Flor decides to leave, she had a career with other bands before and would be successful after.
