Listened to an interview with him this morning. He's a 34-year old Brazilian conservative, a Christian, REFUSED to wear the mask even ONCE during CV19, REFUSED the jab, REFUSED to work with the mainstream music industry and that's why he's on KZread only, was banned on Twitter due to conservative remarks, is a capitalist, and respects Trump greatly. I don't think I could ask for anything more! It also shows that God doesn't care what kind of music style you prefer. In fact, I'm sure God and the angels stand up and applaud whenever THEY hear him perform this! God will meet us WHEREVER and WHOEVER we are...RIGHT where/who we are! I think you could call Dan Vasc a TRUE "Game Changer"!

Dan was raised as a Methodist in Brazil and said he still claims to be Methodist. He proudly states he is Christian. I've listened to this song so many times and every time he takes me to the top of the mountain with his vocals and the feelings he brings with those vocals. I'll admit, like you, I was a little skeptical when my daughter sent this video to me because I was afraid it was going to be a lot of screaming. Dan brought the metal to church with this song. I love it! Oh ... and I just may have found myself in the Dan Vasc rabbit hole in checking out his channel. God has given him a talent that he has fine-tuned with a lot of time and energy to share with the world. I'm definitely a fan of this man!! ♥♥

Dan is a Christian and a true believer. You can see it in his eyes and feel it in his voice. One tiny bit of trivia in case no one has already said it is that his dad played harmonica and taught Dan and the one he's playing here was given to him by his father at age 7.

Welcome to Vasc Nation! Everyone who hears Dan Vasc and this song have the same jaw dropping, ear-to-ear, head shaking grin at how epic this performance is! Dan is Christian and a great guy. Open your mind to his metal performances - they are fantastic. 200+ great covers... Gethsemane, My mother told me, Battle Hymn, Several Witcher covers, Handel's Messiah, Nessun Dorma. He's Brazilian - native language is Portuguese. His dad gave him a harmonica when he was 7 (his dad passed away from cancer about 5 years ago). Dan is genuine - pours his whole soul into every performance. Truly epic voice.

I am a recovering alcoholic in AA (12 Steps) this song is our unofficial "anthem", whether you're religious or not. I am also a devout Catholic who lives down the block from a beautiful Catholic Church in an Irish neighborhood. We hear bagpipes at least twice a week, his use of his "harp" (that his late dad gave him when he was a child). The "harp" gives this lovely Spiritual a Celtic feel. It will be played at my funeral!!! And, you have a new subscriber. Blessings.

I’m looking for it and I can’t find it. He sings the song from the musical Jesus Christ superstar, but I can’t remember what the name of it is. I also wanna make note that Dan Vasc sings when he calls power metal which is different than a heavy metal that song here in the United States. He does a lot of 80s covers and he does bard songs. Don’t underestimate this singer, he is amazing!

i’m not religious, but when i heard this for the first time just two days ago, i felt for the first time what it might be like to have a religious experience. i’ve been to church with friends in the past, but something about his voice and the way he sang this song just really spoke to something deep in my soul. loved seeing your reaction and perspective.

Idk, I would say a true gift of training more than one of god, ya know, most voices are surprisingly pretty once people put in the work to train em :)

@@fischi9129 The man has a God given Gift which is undeniable. I know many that have had training but if the God given voice isn't there, the training can only go so far. "Pretty" and Amazing are two different things.

@@sallymcnulty2223 ok, I reformulate it. Dan is a baritone, the most common male voice type. Dan has a pretty common timbre for a man in the 30s-50s. You can hear that when he speaks in some other videos, or even when he sings. He has some rasp how most male humans develop with age, some in 20s, some in 30s, some in teens. So if we look at his voice, ignoring his training, in fact, it's as average as average can be.

@@fischi9129I worked with a vocal coach (operatic) but never achieved the range Dan has. The 1st key change is one full octave. This arrangement has several key changes. In addition, he has a tremendous lung capacity. Start singing those last notes with him - you should be able to tell when he takes his last breath - match the volume and see how long you can sustain it before you drop out. Plus: Dan sings pop, Christian, opera (check out his rendition. of Nessun Dorma by Puccini). In addition, he sings metal and has learned how to do it without affecting his vocal quality. That’s metal “grit” you hear, not raspiness of age. He turns it off and on for affect. It’s a style. I have friends who were careful with their voices and still had to stop singing due to damage to their vocal cords. It’s amazing with the stress of singing metal that Dan can seamlessly switch between classical and metal styles with no sign of damage to his voice. If you haven’t undergone vocal training, you should try it. You’ll be amazed at how complicated it is to control your breathing while concentrating on where to direct your voice - in your head: using your mask etc. I can only assume you are not a trained singer.

@@danamoran7842 so, about the range, anatomically speaking man have an advantage because of the lower extension we have, because upwarda there pretty much are no limits, it's mostly just training. For the breath here again, it's training. I'm not saying he casually woke up with this voice, I'm saying he traind more than your average joe to get to his voice. That being said, the grit in his voice because of age is his base grit I ment, when he sings lower you can hear it (it's pretty hard to add somewhat decent sounding distortion to the lower voice except growling which I pretty much do on a daily basis cause I think it's relaxing). For the styles, most singers learn in aclassic/operatic styles because it's a highly optimized, and honestly, easy style to get atarted with (not mastering, mastering it is hella hard, but to get basics running, if you want volume most people naturally slide in a classic style cause it's just the simplest and healthiest way).about the metal distortion, idk if he does it in a 100% healthy way, for the most part I think so, there are a couple of moments it could be a liittle bit unhealthy for the vocal chords, which, tbh is fine. Some slight stress for vochal cords is fine, just make sure to hydrat quickly after and give them enaugh time to recover. About your friends, sorry to hesr that, I suggest warming up properly, warming up the distortion (keep it short), don't over do the distortions and hydrate a lot after (even a glass between songs for example), that should prevent most of the issues with it honestly. Just keep the quantity moderate and give your voice time to rest/recover. About your assumption I did no vocal training, I would say you are somewhat right, my only training was helpin out in the choir with my mother who sings in there for about 40 years as a bass or baritone (yes, I would consider myself a baritone, but in most of the sheet music bass is actually baritone notes, and in the lorning or a bit of slight trauma I can hit and project D2s or C2s (most natural basses just do them out of the box easily, that's why I wouldn't consider myself a bass), never the less I can mix a C5 quite comfortably as well (belting is not that common in a choir and I live in an appartment so that's hard to train). But yeah, I didn't go to a vocal coach to train my voice, but went to a singer of 40 years to help on breath support and on basic technique. But yeah, I would say you are right, no former vocal training. Doesn't mean I underatand jackshit about voice tho

Also try checking out sound of silence by disturbed, they are a heavy metal band, but this cover is also sensational.
