One of the greatest guitar solos.....EVER!
My son, you have now been baptized... In the holy waters... Of Freebird.🙏🏻 Brothers and sisters, let us all welcome him into the Kingdom of Southern Rock. Amen. Now pass me a PBR.🍺

While this song is legendary, it is bittersweet. It always reminds me of the loss they suffered in a plane crash that took some of their lives and mamed the survivors. Loved your reaction though. The guitars were amazing. Whole band was amazing.
keep listening to Skynyrd, the musical part of your life will never be the same
HazeBruv, you have the best reactions! I love you so much! It's amazing for me to see someone listening to Free Bird for the first time. 😎 Lyrnyrd Skynyrd is from Jacksonville Florida, local bands and musicians have had Free Bird requests more than any other song for decades in town. I met and got to know a few of these guys and I got to say they're really good people. So much love and respect for Lynyrd Skynyrd and for you HazeBruv. You've got to see a live version of this song on Y T - Thank you
Thank you for reacting to Lynyrd Skynyrd. The live version of this classic from the Oakland Coliseum on July 2nd 1977 is probably the finest live performance of any song that I've ever witnessed, be it in person or on video. I highly recommend it. To think that Allen Collins was only 18 years young when he wrote this gem. My other recommendations are "That Smell", "Gimme Three Steps", "Call Me The Breeze" & "Sweet Home Alabama" Thank you kindly. 😊✌
Definitely fire or more like a flaming inferno. Only of the all time classics, right up there with songs like Stairway to Heaven, Hey Jude and Layla. Also one of the absolutely best guitar solos ever by Allen Collins. Another one you can blast out in your car, Haze 💯💯💯
I’m a 60 year old white guy, but, sir, I think we are kindred spirits, I would love to spin some albums with you and let you experience my youth through the greatest music ever created back in the day
He didn't want to leave her but he knew he couldn't stay. The road calls to him and he has to answer that call and play his shows.
Great song and reaction! You definitely want to see the live version. I'm sure I'm not the first or the last person who will mention it to you.
One of their short stories is Gimme Three Steps. It's such a fun song.

Great one !! I can't even think of a bad song from them. But that is fun!
I love watching you groove to the mellow part of the song while having no clue about what you are about to get blasted away with in just a few minutes.
One of the greatest songs EVER! But you must watch this being performed live. Hearing this is one thing. Hearing this while watching these Masters at work is another experience altogether! Loving the work, Haze
If you want a story, listen to Lynyrd Skynyrd’s “That Smell”. It is the story of what drug and alcohol does to a person. It was written after a member of the band wrecked his Cadillac after driving drunk.

Love this song they even used this in Forrest Gump when Jenny was going to kill herself on that balcony. So dramatic and it made the scene with this epic song.

I drive a school bus and the solo came on while winding down one of my mountain backroads and I turned out the exterior speakers turned it all the way up and flew down the road making sure every house got a piece of Free Bird. Good times

🎸💯 Southern Rock at its FINEST‼🔥
My fingers hurt just *listening* to that solo. 😅
One of the greatest albums ever. Every song is amazing.
They had so many bangers in such a short time. They are legends! Check out The Ballad of Curtis Loew or That Smell 🔥🔥

Those are GREAT suggestions Rebecca and I totally agree with you! Listen to Rebecca's suggestions HAZE! Those songs are some of their best!
Try some Led Zeppelin If you haven't yet. If you want more Skynyrd, try Call Me The Breeze. It doesn't disappoint. Subscribed!
GIMME THREE STEPS is a great story telling song!👍♥️😁
You HAVE TO DO THE LIVE VERSION from the Oakland Colliseum in 1977. Incredible! And just 2 short months later band members were either killed for horribly injured when the bands plane crashed. The last live performance of this song. It seemed like they knew and put everything into it.
Hahahaha...welcome to my old world...63-year-old grandpa NEVER gets tired of hearing this...LOVE your reaction!!
I'm always exhausted after listening to this song... so much air drumming and guitar work to be done whilst listening to this classic!
i love to see peoples first reaction to the solo in this song. gets me so hyped!
Absolutely on of the greatest songs ever made so says Austin Tx!!!!!! When I first heard this song in the late 70’s in high school it rocked my world!!!!! Keep on keeping on hombre!!!!🎸🎸🤩🍸
This is my favorite song of all time. It's going to be playing when my ashes are thrown down the coosa River at moccasin Gap.
Most of them died together in a plsne crash ..RIP to legends 🙏

Actually, Ronnie, Steve and Cassie were the band members that died in the crash ...Both Pilots and their road manager also perished.....Allen, Gary, Billy, Leon, Artimus, Jo Jo and Leslie all survived the crash and a few years later all formed the Rossington - Collins Band. Then in 1987 they all got back together and performed together with Ronnie's younger brother Johnny taking over the lead vocals.
I love how this dude doesn't have 10 minute intros and gets right to the point . SUBBED TO YA
I’m a Beatles fan, this song is in my top ten, ‘nuff said.
I love watching first time listens of this song. The reactor is almost always just grooving along with the slow section, mmmm cool, mmmm cool, mmmm kinda cool, yeah I think I kinda like this song. Then the breakdown hits and it's OHMYFREAKINGGAWD! BY ALL THAT'S HOLY, WHAT IS THIS ?????!!!!!!
One damned good song. RIP Mama.
You need to watch the live performance from Oakland 1977, then you will witness the true talent up on stage and see the crowd going crazy. Live version blows away the studio version.

@@bobhenry9662 true but the Oakland version has lots of hot chicks in the crowd and when the guitar solo kicks in the crowd goes crazy. So it’s a great visual for someone who never experienced a real concert with real music, you get the feel of the crowd .

Same with Knebworth, but there you get to see Ronnie, Gary, and Allen strutting out onto the tounge part of the stage that was forbidden to all but the Stones.
That is bar none there best reaction to freebird, top man

Gotta do the live one. You'll appreciate it more

Yes. I been waiting.
Yes, the live concert in 1977 the last song was Freebird and got on his plane and died in that plane crash. Very traumatizing to us in the 70's. Very sad
More southern rock to check out is Molly Hatchet, Flirtin with Disaster! Guitars are some of the best ever! Both Skynyrd and Hatchet are from Jacksonville Florida which happens to be my birth place! Thanks!

I listened to this multiple times everytime I play GTA San Andreas with their soundtrack. It became one of my favorite songs outside of just The Beatles
Gotta go live!! Your absolutely correct.
My favorite band EVER!!
"That Smell " classic ✌️♥️
I love how much u love it!!!!!
One of the best songs ever! Thanks for covering it.
The live version that all over you tube insane yo 👆
That is a really good guess for the song, however this song is actually about the singer, Ronnie Van Zant, dying. You see, when Ronnie was much younger, he had a premonition that he was going to die in a plane crash, but no one believed him. He wrote the song Back Then when he was younger. This song is simply about him thinking he's going to die, lo and behold, this song was the very last song he ever performed before his whole band went down in a plane crash killing Ronnie Van Zant and other members of the band.
You got it man
Great reaction!
You gotta watch it live!
Beast of a tune..
Dive deep into their catalog ....you will not be disappointed. That Smell, On the Hunt , Needle and the spoon, Call me the breeze to name a few but I could literally go on and on and on and not even scratch the surface. The deeper you dig the more gems you will find.
Dude, so many good songs by them. That's smell, what's your name, Gimme Three Steps, Sweet Home Alabama oh, of course Simple Man and Freebird what you've hear now, Tuesday's Gone etc etc etc.
This is a rabbit hole you've got to go down. Everything they ever did was great.
Epic tune young man thus is ....epic guitar for real
Great song
A Classic!!!!!!!
You should have done the live version in Oakland 1977

Thanks for the deletion of inappropriate comments , you’re a good man. Love the music

Live version is kick ass!!!
You should check out their song I know a little , down south juking or Mississippi Kid. This song come about when one of the band members girlfriend asked him if I leave here tomorrow would you remember me and little did they know when they did this song it would be the biggest hit they will have and the one they would be remembered for.
You missed out not seeing the live concert vid, they tore those guitars UP!
Hell yeahhhh broooothaaaa
BEST GUITAR SOLO EVER!!
If you can find the live video from 76 you'll be more blown away real fire as you say. I know everyone ask for the 77 at Oakland stadium but to me it shows to much of the fans I would rather watch more of the band. But you can check out both of them for yourself . Great reaction as usual by the way thanks

This is one 3 songs that's better live than studio. Phil Collins "In the Air Tonight", Dire Straits "Sultans of Swing" and this beauty~ oops... almost forgot Procol Harum "Whiter Shade of Pale" live from Denmark, it'll change your life ❤️
They have many great songs! I think you should do That Smell next!
All road trips begin with this for us.
Now you know why we love our southern rock. Try green grass and high tides forever. Another banger another band. The outlaws.
you should hear the live version at the Oakland colosseum....longer and better....
You should try Tuesday's Gone.
Greatest rock band to ever do it period Allen collins is and was the greatest guitar player ever no one will ever compare
This is absolute guitar
Check out the Oakland lie performance from '77. Great reaction thanks man!
Hah!!, they had you jamming as they jammed on out the door to leave!!,..thats how it go darlin,..you didn't want the song to end,..that blues, country, rock cocktail, it'll get you every time and this group is the best at it,..most of if not all their songs, real life experiences, as it is with most groups, singers, something they went through, or somebody they know who went through it,..and if so then you know it will reach the audience,.cause for sure there's somebody there who's been through the same thing, just like with Aretha, Mary J., seem like they made the song just for you,..lol..along with that, these guys can play now,..you so should check out live version, think its Oakland California, 73', ?,..see them in action, just like studio, don't look like they're ever gonna stop playing,..do keep going,."Gimme Three Steps(funny, and also sounds like something that really happened, huh and there are listeners who probably experienced it,.lol)..do enjoy, also check out Outlaw, Green Grass and High Tides, another one seems to never end,..Blackfoot, Train, really sounds like a train coming, Godspeed, Peace ✌
I agree with Shirly Buffington's comment below...read it.
