More Lynryrd Skynyrd...Call Me The Breeze, Down South Jukin' and Gimme Three Steps for their fun side, Gimme Back My Bullets, That Smell, and Simple Man for their serious side.

Yep. Welcome to Skynyrd. Tons to get into… I feel like the next logical step is Simple Man… to see where they came from. Lots more where this came from… Ballad of Curtis Loew would be next, also to see where they came from and to see them show a different vibe… after that you can just have at it… That Smell and Gimmie 3 Steps are two of my other nostalgic faves.

Pro tip: Anyone who loves the last half of Freebird, will also love The Call of Ktulu from the 1999 concert with Metallica and the San Fransisco Symphony Orchestra. Check it out.

Some advice for all you reactors and would be reactors . . . . . For all of these groups from the sixties and seventies, try to find the LIVE VIDEOS. They almost always give an exponentially better performance than the truncated studio versions, something the contemporary bands just can't do. You think that this is good? Try the Oakland Concert, 1977. ALSO, if the lyrics are all that important to you, read them either before or after the performance. You can't truly experience the ENTIRE performance if your concentrating on the words . . .

Curtis Loew, Mississippi Kid, The Needle and the Spoon. This song was released on their 1st album. Great read on the song. Tragically the bands plane crashed on October 20th 1977 killing Ronnie Van Zant-vocals, Steve Gaines-guitar, and Cassie Gaines a back up vocalist and Steve's sister. Way more to their story than that. You should watch the documentary "If I leave here tomorrow" shows them from their very beginnings. Pretty Cool. Thanks for the reaction.

This song come about from a question one of the band members girlfriend asked them and the lead singer Ronnie Van Zant took that question and wrote this song . Fun fact they played this song to the record company and they rejected so they went back and added the long guitar solos at the end and went back to the record company and when they heard that they accepted it , little did Ronnie know this will be their signature song
