Lovebites won the 2018 Metal Hammer Golden Gods award for best new band. They are a multi-genre heavy metal band - playing thrash metal, power metal, NWOBHM style metal, progressive metal, symphonic metal, and also rock and ballads. The one guitarist also shreds the piano as well as she does the guitar. The fans are called the wolfpack because Lovebites has a wolf pictured on the front of every album. We Are the WOLFPACK...LOVEBITES the GODDESSES OF METAL...

Fanbase is the Wolfpack. This is just scratching the surface. Popular song, yes, but one of their simpler ones. Heavily influenced by 80s metal such as Metallica and Iron Maiden. Asami has been compared to Bruce Dickinson (Maiden's vocalist). They are talented and metal AF. This is with their former bassist and co-founder, Miho. New bassist, Fami, joined Lovebites in Oct 2022 and they released their 4th studio album Judgement Day in Feb 2023. It is a statement album - that they are back with a fury, better than ever. There are 2 MV from the new album, title track, and Stand And Deliver (Shoot Em Down). They also besides wearing all white and gold like greek goddesses they have inspiring positive messages in their songs. also Asami the singer started out with R&B and switched to metal when she joined lovebites Midori and Miyako (M&M) and Haruna on the drums in this video the original bassist and founder Miho who was inspired heavily by Iron Maiden Steve Harris is her idol. Haruna loves Helloween. New Bassist Fami also has never done metal before but the new album is proof she can.

They took the name "LoveBites" after the song "Love bites, (and so do I)" by the band Halestorm. Asami has preformed that song with Lizzie Hale (Halestorm)

Congratulations, you have just discovered the best band in the world! Metal + grace + elegance + beauty + sympathy + great musicians + great songs = LOVEBITES !!!!

Because of their speed in playing some have compared them to DragonForce, whom they have toured with. Aside from the fact that they have stated that part of their outfits is just because they are and wish to remain feminine women, wearing white makes them more visible as they are physically quite small, ranging in size from 4' 9" - 5' 2". If you look closely you will also see that they usually wear very high heels and stand on platforms for the same reason. Fantastic musicians, they bring beauty to Metal both musically and visually......hope you continue down this path of discovery!!🤘

Congratulations, you just found the best new metal band to come along in decades.This is probably their most popular video for first reactions. In their first five years of existence, they put themselves on par with the greatest bands of metal’s golden age. Other reviewers have described them as alien superheroes disguised as young women, angels, princesses of metal, and angry bridesmaids. They recently went on a year-and-a half hiatus while they searched for a new bassist. They announced the new bassist in October 2022 (see below) and dropped their first new song on December 22. Their new album, “Judgement Day”, was released two months later. Some background: They were formed in 2016 from the remnants of a legendary all-girl Japanese metal band called Destrose (yes, all-girl metal has been a thing in Japan since at least 1981). Miho (bass, chief headbanger and founder of the band) had a vision of a new band in the style of the great European bands of the golden age of metal. She recruited her former bandmate Haruna (drums, 4'9" “pocket nuclear reactor”); they needed two world-class guitarists, and so they went and found Midori and Miyako, who were with other groups. The four of them then found Asami, the singer, who was doing soul and blues at the time (she was also trained in ballet). Miyako has composed a little more than half of their music, with Miho composing a lot of their thrashier songs in collaboration with Mao, the lead composer of another band called Lightbringer. Midori has also been getting into the act, and they regularly perform a song written by Haruna as well. Asami writes most of the lyrics and is also getting involved in composing. In mid-2021, Miho left the band she had founded, for personal reasons. They went on hiatus while they searched for a new bassist, and during that time, two of them had babies, even as the band were writing and rehearsing their new album. They recently announced the new bassist, Fami, who is a young phenom and herself a composer and multi-instrumentalist. This band has no Peer. You've barely scratched the surface of what they do. This band will change your life. Tazzz N you are very preceptive. There is no band like this one. This is the band you've been waiting for.

comparisons have been made of a combination of many 80's metal bands as that is where they get their inspirations. you could name a dozen and hear some of all of them in their music. but do not think of them as a one trick pony as all of their songs are self written - close to half written by the dark haired guitarist miyako who picked up a guitar at age 18 and is a master pianist as well. piano is her first instrument and she plays in a few of the live performances. out of their 60 songs no 2 are alike and they play many genres. they should be known worldwide on just their talent alone

Welcome to the world of ALL FEMALE Japanese Metal bands Tazzz 😂 ( there's LOTS of phenomenal ones ) of which Lovebites is arguably the best . Band Members - Asami ( vocals ) - comes from an R&B background Haruna ( drums ) - a 4'9" pocket rocket who never misses a beat Myako ( long dark haired guitarist ) - a classically trained pianist who only took up guitar at around 19 years old and is self taught - a musical genius ! Midori ( blonde guitarist ) - again came from a keys background and didn't start playing guitar until she was 20 years old Miho ( bass ) - a superb bassist who has recently been replaced by a bass player called Fami - a musical prodigy who is still only 20 and is featured on their latest album . Although they play lots of " Speed Metal " they are EXTREMELY versatile and superb live - definitely worth checking out in more depth . I think Tazzz has listened to heavy metal in the past. Philly is only cheerful in the channel teaser before the actual reaction video, after which he seems a bit misanthropic. I thought Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau had already died, but I have to say you are a Odd Couple. As far as I can tell, the stigma of rock and metal being the domain of grizzled sweaty dudes isn’t nearly as strong as it is in Europe and the Americas. I can name several all female bands from Japan (BAND-MAID and Nemophila are my favorites aside from LB). As for what to listen to next, I second whoever said “Swan Song.” If you’d like to see another Japanese metal band of four men and two women all of high skill, check out the live version of “Black Pentagram” by Unlucky Morpheus.

IMO, " Holy War " is not their best song, far from it. Try, Break the Wall Set the World on Fire The Awakening/ The Hammer of Wrath Thunder Vengeance Edge of the World A Frozen Serenade Stand and Deliver Chopin Intro + Swan Song Empty Daydream Dissonance Soldier Stands Solitarely That's 10 songs from a 60 + song cataloge, that I think are some of their best. If you listen to these 10 & not love them, I won't know what to say.....

Fate Gear (Formed by Destrose founding member Mina) Lovebites (Formed by ex-Destrose members Rosana Miho & drummer Haruna) Nemophila (Super group formed by ex-Lipstick vocalist Mayu, ex-Mary's Blood/Destrose guitarist Saki, ex-Disqualia guitarist Hazuki, ex-Soramimi drummer Tamu and ex-Holderlings bassist Haraguchi-san) Hagane (Formed in 2019 featuring two of the youngest gunslingers around, Sakura & Mayto) Bridear (Another veteran group, formed in 2011. It's not a bad reaction but you put a lot of focus on the clothing and the fact that they're all women... Clothes don't make the musician. And all-female bands have been around since the days of Vixen in the 70's and it's not something that's so uncommon these days that it makes the video so long emphasizing that. Focus on the music, that's the only important thing...

Well, when you’ve never seen a group before or heard a group before, didn’t know what they looked like you pay attention to everything. There are certain things that catch your eye with visuals as well as the music so as a reactor, we’re giving our opinions to a first impression.

Great musicians but personally use subtitles as I find it distracting to try to understand what Asami is singing in English. Many other great all female Japanese bands. Try Nemophila, Gacharic Spin, Mary's Blood, Band Maid, Hanabie, Haganie, Doll$ Boxx or an 80s band Show Ya for a start.

Welcome to the Wolfpack! (the name for the Lovebites fans :D) - Glad to see you fully enjoying the best metal band on the planet. It's great to see more people discovering our ladies! I encourage you to check out some of their other live performances too - in my decades of metal fandom, I've never heard cleaner sound out of a band live. Also, the white gowns are their usual "Battle Uniforms", their song "Stand and Deliver" is one of the few MVs they have done in casual clothes.

Their sound reminds me of early Sonata Arctica but the solos and musicianship of Lovebites is superior

Nice reaction, thank you. It is not neccesary to play an instrument or even know all the technical terms to enjoy real good music and LOVEBITES definitely fall in the GREAT category. I will suggest another Ukrainian band (besides Jinjer), called Ignea and start with their song Alga, if you want. My profile pic is when I met the singer (Helle) and composer/ keyboardist (Evgeny) when I met them in my hotel in Kyiv in August 2021. Then you would be pleasently surprised (I hope) listening to the three piece Hijab wearing Muslim ladies from Indonesia called Voice of Baceprot. All their songs are highly recommended. God, allow me (please) to play music and (Not) Public Property are stand out songs. Have a nice Easter!

Yes, this song is the most popular for a first time reactor, but it's certainly not their best song IMHO. It might just make it to my top 20. There are a lot of betters tracks which I hope Tazz & Philly will soon discover.

This song might be so popular but not the best one. They have about 60 great songs and several masterpieces. They are extremely talented, skillful and proficient musicians. Those twin lead guitar solos by Midori and Miyako are already legendary, in just six years. Their main influences are Metallica, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Slayer, Megadeth, Angra, Dragonforce, and even Gary Moore, but they have been developing their unique style. They really shine in their live performances. Some people say that they’re breaking the walls of stereotypes in the metal scene. In an interview, Miho (ex bassist and founder of the band) said that they wanted to play as heavy as men but keeping their femininity. Some people say that they’re the best metal bands in decades (male or female). Yes, these women are mind-blowing. They toured Asia and Europe in 2018 and 2019, had a successful performance at Wacken Open Air (Germany, 2018) and toured the UK, supporting Dragonforce, in 2019. My next recommendations are “Set the world on fire”, “Break the wall”, “Raise some hell” (all live). Avoid Bloodstock because audio is not good (not their fault).

Holy War is one of the more "meh" Love Bites songs to me. Don't understand why people keep recommending it as the first song to listen to.

Great musicians and this song I rate as one of their best. That being said, I'm not a fan.

Not crazy about her voice. More screeching than singing. Musicians are good. Not a band I would follow but wish them well . Just not for me. Thanks for posting anyway.✌🏼🤙🏼
