I live in a town with 2 cops, and 300 people at best. It’s an open carry state as well. We don’t have much of anything and we support all our neighbors. Cause no one else is coming to help. I’m not a country fan at all….but man I get this one. Thank you for your honest response. I love your channel, brother.

@@michaelasay8587 I saw a TikTok video of a Democrat claiming that the crimes showed in the news clips and mentioned in the lyrics were racist towards Blacks because Jason obviously thought only Black people were committing these crimes. However the news clips do not show Black people rioting. They actually show mostly White people. Just because Jason mentions a car jacking or armed robbery doesn’t automatically mean that a Black person committed these crimes. What people read into a song or conversation or tone of voice is all on them. In this world just about anything can be construed as racist - even if it makes absolutely no logical sense at all.

Shon is not telling it like it is. He's ignorant of all the facts and oblivious to the racist dog whistles depicted in this song and video. Jason Aldean wore black face for Halloween back in 2015. He was raised in Macron, 4th largest city in his home state, but pretends he's some small town redneck. He was also a victim of a mass shooting in Vegas in which he ran away (didn't warn the crowd or anything). The imagery he shows, the protest footage, some of it wasn't even protests that occurred in the US. The courthouse he depicted in his music video is infamous for black lynchings. He promotes cop boot-licking and vigilante redneck justice. Why didn't the video include any protest footage from January 6th? Just black lives matter protests? I wonder why.... This lady's Instagram post does a good job pointing out the ways this Jason Aldean song/video is problematic. instagram.com/reel/Cu8cVVigSkm/?igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==

Someone DID try that shit a few years back after the MO protests (they showed up on the town square and burned the US flag.) didn’t take long before there were about 25 pickups on site with about 50 men with rifles making sure it didn’t go any further: needless to say no further shenanigans ensued

Shon, you are definitely all right. There should be no controversy. The song is saying don't try that in a small town. It could just as easily be don't come to my neighborhood in the city and trash it or riot or commit crimes. It doesn't really matter where you are, the small town is probably easier to relate to but it can be in any type of community. As an example, I have said this I don't know how many times, but here goes again. I lived in a small town, population around 20,000 with maybe that many more in the outlying areas. The county I lived in, in NE Oregon has a population of maybe 70,000 split between that town where I still work, I just moved to the next county over, which is also large and with way less people, and another not quite as large to the east and a smaller one yet to the NE just below the Oregon/Washington border, then several very small towns scattered around. During all the protests and riots in 2020, like in Portland and other big cities that were being destroyed and never really recovered, we also all had protests. They went on for many months, and many of us agreed with the idea. I don't think George Floyd was at all a good person but he was murdered. Not planned but it happened, it was wrong, period. So anyway, we had our protests, but one huge difference. No violence, plus no defunding or trying to harm our police departments. Except when they are giving out speeding tickets, we appreciate them. Some of the department heads even took the time to talk to the protesters about the issues. Again, it was cool, no problem. Much of SE Washington was the same way also. Through social media I have to assume, because I only knew too late to join the party, it was learned that antifa losers were coming our way. I can only guess they were never east of the Cascade Mountains which are closer to Portland. They got here in the evening, this was at the end of that August. Cops from various departments met them, and also a bunch of very obviously armed civilians. A couple of very minor scuffles happened, not worth bothering with. They left, and in the morning went farther east to the next town I mentioned. It happens to host a very major rodeo in September of every year. Many of the people look like Jason Aldean, hats, boots, jeans, and they do ride horses or are around the farms or whatever. Fortunately for the idiots from Portland, they got the same greeting. They left all sad and went back to destroy Portland some more. As far as you coming to places like this, we are kind of redneck types but we are also very welcoming for the most part, unless you give us a reason not to be. I don't know that all small towns are that way, but we are often accused of racism by morons who don't know better. A few people are like anywhere else, most are not. Otherwise, the protests wouldn't have been tolerated, no one would care about the murder, etc. We're not perfect, no one is, but you as a black man are not going to be any less welcome than anyone else. For myself, I like to meet people from different areas and cultures and learn about what they do and how their lives are. So, I don't know where you live but if you ever road trip out to the NW, come on through and say howdy. I'll show you a couple of good places to get a beer and a burger.

"Divide and conquer" is as old a strategy used by those who would be our masters as are bribery, blackmail and extortion (which they also use on a mass scale.)

I live in a small town and we have one grocery store and a few gas stations and black and white both work there side by side just trying to make sure that their kids have the opportunity to get an education. We are a community and we will protect them all. He is singing about crime and protecting your community. If someone hears this and automatically assume that he is talking about black people then you are the racist.

The song is not about race, ethnicity, skin color, it's about criminality, and that's why he's standing in front of a courthouse. This is a song about patriotism, and standing together as a community and not letting thieves, thugs, violence, murder, vandalism, riots, etc. rule society with terror and intimidation.

What an awesome song! Thanks for your thoughts about this song. People are really nuts. I’m really confused. Have the BooHoo’s grasping at straws for something to be angry and hateful about. Woke is broke!!! I suggest everyone make this song their anthem. Keep going Jason Aldean. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

The song is a litmus test for racists. There's a black woman on here saying that his lyrics about criminals are about black people. Whoopie and Joy are so mad they can't create divisions 😢

Jason is from Georgia where the state of emergency was. I don’t know when I don’t watch the news. But this video was shot in Columbia Tennessee, which is where Jason currently lives with his wife and family. That’s a courthouse with the flag hanging off of it which is one of the oldest structures in Columbia. People are trying to say that because of the lynching against Black people at this courthouse took place back in the 1920s that Jason intentionally shot the video there as a subliminal message supporting lynching, which is absolutely and utterly absurd. He simply shot the video there because it’s a monumental landmark in his hometown, and he doesn’t like to travel far away from his family when he works when he can avoid it because of the touring that he usually does.

Jason was protected anyway. Under the code UFC 107 and it's parady. News companies don't have copyrights on anything they put out there for everyone to see.
