Hey, Amanda, thankyou for another uplifting vid. You, and the community here have truly helped me over the last week, I love you all. Probably won't be back this side of Christmas because of work (I'm a chef), unless UK COVID restrictions change ( hopefully they won't, my workmates are all I have immediate contact with). But either way, I wish you, and everybody here, a very happy Christmas, good health, and all the best. Much love xxx

Completely unrelated to this video, but you have really touched me. I just watched a livestream Metallica did for their 40th, and towards the end of the 2nd show they played "Fade to Black", and all I could think of was your reaction from a few months ago. Amazingly, in the middle of the song where there's a pause, James actually took a moment and said the song was going out to (and I'm sure I'm getting it a little wrong) "people going through struggles. Know you're not alone. Tell someone." It will be up to watch for a limited time on prime video sometime during the week if you're interested. Peace be with you, and I hope you have a good holiday season and a happy new year.

Your are a completely obvious empath. That is a awesome thing, but it can be a curse if you can't mentally handle it. From everything I have seen from a fellow empath. I can truly understand where you are coming from. The problem occurs when being something you can't help as a empath, you get overwhelmed. It wasn't through meet the right therapist that I learned my gift and how to fully embrace it without getting depressed. Oh and Jessie Leach pours if all out in his lyrics. Phenomenal lyric wise!

Killswitch is a band that is DEFINITELY worth getting deeper into! A lot of their songs follow a similar message, especially on their most recent album. A very relatable vibe of "things are hard but things will be okay"

Their singer actually left the band after making the best album ever with them because of mental health issues. When he returned to the band 10 years later, this was the first song they released so I think it's appropriate given the lyrics. Never realized that til you pointed them out (I'm not a lyrics person tbh lol) I still remember when this came out. I was such a massive fan of Jesse and I thought he was gone forever, but then Howard left and they gave Jesse another chance. It literally made my whole year almost (2013) and I'm still so happy he's back in the band. It was like one of those things you pray for that actually happened

I’ve always felt that some things or words hit harder when they’re screamed at me. That’s one thing about metal that I and others I think we really love. Clean vocals have their place of course. But sometimes a lyric just hits home when it’s addressed in that fashion. 🤘🏼keep digging through the rabbit hole of metal (metalcore), KsE has so many songs with inspirational lyrics!

I'm so glad you did this song and enjoyed it so much. Killswitch is my favorite band for so many reasons, and this song is one of them. Its without a doubt my favorite, it literally saved my life. When I was stuck inside the hell in my head and didn't want to be here anymore I'd listen to this over and over again and it never failed to lift me up. Even if I had to scream or sob, it always energized me to have hope and pulled me away from the ledge more than once. I'm glad you liked it 🖤 KSE is definitely worth checking out more 🤘🏻

Back on a re-watch! The verse is the angry side of not knowing how to deal with what's going on but it's the chorus that's the gem. It gets me every time "All in due time, See the world in different eyes, All in due time, the shadows will give way to light". It's a very uplifting lyric and give me so much internal strength! The song shows the difference in moods and how one minute you can be raging and the next minute you give yourself the time to get perspective on things and let yourself know that things can (and WILL) get better!

You fill my bucket! Yes, a group list would be good, or maybe even a few lists. A "feel good" list, and "I need to get the anger out" list, a "I feel your pain" list. Several kinds of possibilities. I see a lot of the heavy style of music I hid in being suggested. That style of music seems to revolve around anger, frustration, and fighting back (against depression, intolerance, suppression, etc.).

I just learned this two days ago after 4.5 years. Don't get in your own way. I was like, why am I not healing? Then the right person at the right time said the right thing, and it clicked. I am in my own way. It's one thing to protect yourself. That's a given after trauma. It may take years. Certainly, one does not want to dump it on someone else and hurt them as well. No. But you have to live. Live a little...all in due time. Traumatized folks can speak in riddles hoping that the right person will answer the call. Then the right person calls the bs and delivers the point right at home, and makes you figure it out yourself. Not asking you to go public with it, but This Fire by the same band helps too.

I just want to say thank you. I grew up in a household that mental health discussion was an everyday thing or a normality. Being born into an a.l.f. in Florida was not easy when I was young. But I learned that mental health and coping with issues was a normal thing. Grandmother was a psyche nurse at shepherd Pratt for 28 years, my father ran an adult living facility for over 20 years andni was.raised in a safe.mental health environment and it suprises.me how almost taboo it is to talk about mental health.

Could you please react to "Rose Of Sharyn" by Killswitch Engage? Their singer at the time wrote it about losing his mother, and it's one that I have in my playlist in memory of my grandmother who I lost just after I graduated high school and have still not truly gotten over. The lyric in it "I long for those who never knew you" hits me the hardest because the first time I actually heard "Rose Of Sharyn" was when I had a little memorial party for my grandma with a few of my closest friends, and one of them who I normally would jam to metal with, played this song. I think that line hit as hard as it did because a lot of my friends knew about my grandma but never got the chance to meet her.

She listened intently for a few seconds, then started dancing. Her dance was one of the cutest things I've ever witnessed, and to put that in perspective, I've witnessed a chicken babysit newborn kittens for a mama cat that needed a short break.

This song has made me weep. Love that he quotes from Psalm 121:1, where his hope comes from. Also, you might really love "Lift Me Up" by Five Finger Death Punch for a similar message.

This is one of my go to songs when I'm not in the best of places. KSE album Alive, or Just Breathing is filled with similar songs. I would suggest "Temple from the Within". Also, check out Times of Grace, their song "Burden of Belief" is another go to. Thank you btw...

Hey Amanda love your reactions. I have a quick suggestion, well my 12 year old daughter she has a request and really hopes you'll do it for her. I know she is still young but when she when I told you about her Covid story she watched as many video reactions as she could on your channel but when she first got Covid she still wanted to be with her bf so you know I know how that is. But with her having Covid she couldn't just got out anywhere she wanted so she spent alot of time with her bf and and she ended up getting abused a good bit and when she came across this one song it truly helped her get through it and she was able to get rid of him for good. Also this song/music video is what helped her get through it and she also is a Covid Survivor now don't get me wrong I know she's only 12 but she was suicidal during that most of that abuse and sickness, I'm sorry it really gets to me and I've been trying to write this comment for about half hour now 😭 and I came home from work one day and saved her from something I never thought I'd have to endure/visually see and that was my baby girl hanging from a ceiling hook in my closet and the song that she really wants you to react to is Red Jumpsuit Apparatus "face down".

I really wish that things were solely up to each person and that one could make a positive change without all the cr*p that exists outside of your life. That each person could make themselves truly independent. You somehow need to find the right things at the right time, and get the right help when you need it to have a decent opportunity. Society have this thing where it almost seems to enjoy breaking people. I like that the Internet has brought forward positive people that are willing to fight. Its a step in the right direction. And it feels like the younger generations are more willing to talk about stuff like mental health. Maybe there is a change on its way? I might never experience that but knowing that the future generations might be more open, honest and helpful regarding mental health (and other stuff) gives some hope.

I think you would really appreciate the band "Nothing More". I must warn you that a few of their tracks will almost definitely turn you into a crying wreck but they do have some fun/kickass songs too 😂. As a musician I find it becomes harder to get a true emotional reaction to new music because I'm so used to certain melodies/harmonies & rhythms etc. or because I'm simply just trying to analyse things as I listen rather than truly take it in but Nothing More hits lyrically so much. "Architects" would also be a good band to check out too in a similar way, all about the lyrical content & the message as much as it is about making some kick-ass sounding music. 👍😁

KSE are always uplifting, I know you react to different genres, but if you want to keep trying something heavy (but of course very well done) give a try to Zero Killed (feat. Björn Speed Strid) by SENSE OF NOISE, the melodies are similar to KSE and the video (and lyrics) DEFINITELY deal with mental struggle, specially on these difficult times the world is going through, you won't regret giving the video at least a try

You need to watch Killswitch Engage "Strength of the Mind" great song. Greater lyrics. But the point is missed a bit cause it isn't your mind you have to change. The mind is just a go between from the brain and body to YOU. The mind takes care of higher functions while YOU sit there and think. For instance, how many times have YOU driven through a light at a intersection and looked back and thought. Dang was that green or red. Your mind knew and took care of it, because YOU were lost in YOUR thoughts. All 3 work together in harmony unless one part is struggling. Usually it's YOU. But not always. Please tell me yall get the point. Took me 46 years to find that harmony. Im 49 now. I have more, but I will leave it there for now.
