Home Free members: Adam Rupp (tenor, beatboxer, co-founder of group along with his brother Chris Rupp who no longer sings with the group), Rob Lundquist (angelic main tenor, great whistler), Tim Foust (one of the great basses of our time, 5-octave range!), Austin Brown (angelic high tenor with astounding range), Adam Chance (called "Chance" since there are two Adams in the group; baritone/bass, also does great sound effects). Adam Rupp and Rob Lundquist are Minnesota boys; Tim Foust is from southeast Texas; Austin Brown is from Georgia; Adam Chance is from Alabama. Be warned: these guys can sing ANYTHING!

You have just been introduced to the best a cappella group out there. These guys are all so talented. They lean towards country but they can do any genre. They all can take the lead depending on whos voice is best for the song. They are known for their tight harmonies. Tim Foust is one of the best bass singers out there with a 5 octave range & their beatboxer vocal percussionist Adam Rupp can simulate any sound. This song is very old & is done in the bluegrass country style. It was used in the movie "Oh Brother Where Art Thou" starring George Clooney.

You may have been being glib, but many of us HAVE had our lives changed by Home Free's music. Their harmonies have pulled many of us out of dark places. HF does many different types of songs - country, blue grass, R&B, 50s do-wop, 60s rock, sacred, profane, silly, serious - about the only thing I can't quite envision them doing it heavy metal - although given some work, I'm sure they could figure out a way to pull it off - after all, they managed "Listen to the Music"! Their catalog is wide and deep - over 170 official videos at this point and growing constantly. Enjoy the rabbit hole.

@@PzoThePlug And they don't just do all genres, they kill 'em-- every single time. Rob-- the guy with the beard whose voice you said you like in the beginning-- has some opera training, if you can believe that, and he and Austin did a beautiful rendition of an opera aria, "N'essun Dorma." If you decide to get into Home Free, at some point after you've heard a lot of the other stuff people are recommenting, you gotta check that out. It's best, I think, to hear it after a lot of their other genres, when you've reached the point where you think you must have heard every genre any one group could possibly kill. Then you hear the opera and just throw up your hands, like, "I give up. These guys aren't even human!"

Home Free is incredible. Everything they do is great. And although they are a Country A-cappela group, they can really sing all genres. There is no permanent lead singer. They really all have great voices with their own specialties. Even Adam Rupp who started the group with his brother Chris Rupp. Chris left the group in 2016 to go solo but also to start other projects with his sister, among others. Adam Rupp-Beatboxer but is actually an inhuman freaking good mouth artist. Tim Foust- Deep bass but also as a tenor and everything in between is possible. Austin Brown-High tenor with his great runs and high notes. Rob Lundquist (beard and glasses)-Tenor, with a voice like velvet and so much soul. Adam Chance (back left, who is called Chance) - Baritone/ Bass, a voice so smooth and sexy. And who here also makes the Jaw harp sound. They look at every song whose voice suits it best. This is the best harmony, no egos, no rivalries, great personalities etc. Besides, they can all beatbox (see their live performance 9to5). .. This is one of the many covers they do in addition to various originals, and each one is just amazing. Take the time to discover Home Free because it will be a great tour. For me they are number 1 A-Cappella group

Yes, welcome to Home Free, all acapella, no instruments at all. Masters of all musical genres. They won the 4th season of the Sing Off in 2013. Their covers are upgrades, their medleys are brilliant, their collaborations with the original artists are inspirational, and their original songs are masterpieces. Within this 5 man vocal band you have 5 tenors, 5 beat boxers, and 2 bass-baritones. All of them can sing lead and they choose depending on whose voice best fits the song. They can do just about anything and they continue to grow and improve, yet they remain so humble. When they have featured guest artist, they support and allow their featured artists to shine. Several of them have their own channels and do some solo work. And just for fun Rob and Austin sing Opera. What else can I say? Their catalogue of work is quite large and continues to grow. You are in for an exciting journey and the Home Fries will be there for you all the way.

The original song was published in 1913 and later covered by Bob Dylan, Joan Baez and a host of others. It was most recently in the movie "O Brother Where Art Thou". Home Free are acapella - there are no musical instruments in this or in most of their songs. The beatboxer (Adam Foust) is incomparable (all the drums, highhats, and non-harmonica are vocally done by him). They don't have a lead singer - whoever sounds best on the song is the one who sings it. The bass singer is Tim Foust (from Texas); the lead singer is Austin Brown (from Georgia); the man in the black waistcoat is Adam Chance (from Alabama); the beatboxer (Adam Rupp) & the man with glasses (Rob Lundquist) are both from Minnesota. 3 of them are song writers so there are lots of originals as well as covers. They tour extensively so there's also loads of live videos. Fall down the rabbit hole - it's a great trip!

And the more u watch it, the more things u see & hear that u didn't realize u missed the first time around!! And everything in it is just so effective!! Yeah, I love this song too, & the presentation of it, the whole arrangement, as well as that super, well-directed & extremely well-shot video. I understand -- & I stand to be corrected here -- that this is an Appalachian religious hymn, I think composed around 1916. I know u also hear similar religious-themed songs in Bluegrass music. Not sure if this 2nd one below is considered Bluegrass, or Country, etc, but I'm thinking right now of I'll Fly Away, just as one example. If u don't already know it, go find it on utube somewhere & hv a listen!! You'll see what I mean, it's quite similar in genre. It's always fun, BTW, to see the reactions of hiphoppers & rappers, etc, to A Man of Constant Sorrow, as sung by this group. These boys have TALENT. And they sing ALL TYPES of music -- do a search & see!! The bass is Tim Foust & he can sing in 5 octaves, up to & including falsetto!! The beatboxer is Adam somebody -- sorry, I just forget his last name at the moment -- & he's supposed to be the best in the business. He & his brother started this group (the brother is the guy in the back on the left who makes the twangy sound). At least 2 of the other 3, the singers, met in university where they were achievng advanced music degrees (Masters, I think). (Go find their bio info!!) You REALLY, REALLY need to see the movie, A Man of Constant Sorrow, staring George Clooney. It is hilariously funny, & the music in it is ofc fantastic. And Geo. Coonry lip-syncs this very song so well you'd SWEAR he's actually singing it!! But the movie itself is HILARIOUSLY funny, as I said, & well worth watching for the comedy in it alone!!!!! But the music makes it a total experience & is a good part of the whole storyline or plot line. You can watch this movie several times over in fact & it's STILL hilarious every single time!!!!! Yes, it IS that funny!! SO GO DO IT!!!!! (Mama said -- & report back afterwards!!)

Feels like a different time? It was written by Dick Burnett and published around 1913. It is more Blue Grass in genre, an older sub category of Country Music.

That was Adam Rupp - beatboxer/percussionist extraordinaire playing his infamous "nomonica". Who needs a stinkin' harmonica (or any instrument really) - not Adam! These guys are insane. Loved the reaction - new sub. Btw, fans of Home Free are called home fries -----> 🍟🤣

You've been teleported to 1913 not 1990. The song was originally titled "Farewell Song" in a songbook by Dick Burnett dated to around 1913.

I've watched your Larry Bird videos, then you popped up in my feed with Home Free? Subbed, you're going down some great paths. With Home Free, they have a lot of winners, but do NOT miss their Butts Medley remix. If you want to check out a little country, I highly recommend Trace Atkins, Songs About Me and Hot Mama. (Home Free does a little of his Honkytonk Badonkadonk in their Butts Medley). Then look at Toby Keith, I Love This Bar. Remember to keep an eye on the visuals in that one.
