    The VIDEO short story portrays a rock star struggling to come to terms with the loss of his wife, who died by suicide (gunshot) after he repeatedly strayed from their relationship BUT the meaning of the SONG is a metaphor for the love between them dying….do “Don’t cry” next!!!!!

    This is part of a trilogy. “Don’t Cry” and “Estranged” are the remaining 2 episodes. They are based on the short story “Without” written by Del James from his book “The Language of Fear”. You gotta do the two remaining episodes.

    The video is based on the short story “Without You” written by Axl’s friend Del James. The story was inspired by Axl’s turbulent relationship with Erin Everly. November Rain was the most expensive video ever made at the time of its release costs $1.5 million. The song is considered part of a trilogy which includes Don’t Cry and Estranged. Other songs worth reacting to, if you haven’t already, are Patience, You could be mine, and Civil War

    Fantastic reaction! This song has always touched me when i listened to it on MTV in Maryland in 1992 and I cried during it next to my bestie on her mom's sofa lol & besides I loved symphonies and played in school & college orchestras so this was a win-win for me. It would later resonate with me all the more when I became a young widow at 33 in 2003 in Manhattan. I lost my British hubby to cancer... we were only married for 9 months, but had known each other for 3 years. I was gutted & his younger brother flew from London to NYC as moral support... but I held in my watershed of tears until the Repast , where I went outside to sit on the steps of the Riverside Church and cried so hard I felt ill and dizzy that my sis & bro-in-law wtd to get me to a hosp. but I composed myself. I never remarried bc honestly he set the bar too high i guess. But that's never made me shy away from this Masterpiece of music, emotion & storytelling by Guns & Roses and I'm glad younger generations are discovering these treasures of all genres. Pity we don't get videos like this anymore.

    The first part talks about needing time alone, the second part about needing someone. Plus inside the Church is massive, but when Slash goes outside to do his solos the Church is tiny and desolate.

  • @bidwell13
    @bidwell1313 күн бұрын

    The small church Slash is playing in front of was brought in to film this. It was used in the movie “Silverado” . Axl wanted the shot to be in a cool field but the time of year they were filming it was all weeds so they decided to do it outside a small church and to bring one in (which probably took up a chunk of their $1.5million budget which that budget makes it in the top 30 most expensive music videos of all time and at the time one of the most expensive ones that year coming in second to Michael Jackson’s “Remember the Time”). Slash said in an interview he improvised the guitar solo and he was afraid he was going to die outside the church cause the helicopter filming the scene kept getting too close to him. I like how to said the guy left the church to sing out front when in reality Slash left the church for a guitar solo BUT he makes his guitar “sing” with his solos.

Mr. Brownstone, Welcome to the Jungle, Paradise City, Knockin On Heavens Door, Estranged, Don't You Cry, Live and Let Die. There is a lot to go through to get a good understanding of their catalog.
