I'm the same Don from twitter. you know grief doesn't have a time limit, my dad passed away from lung cancer in 2009, and I still get emotional about it, there will always be times when something reminds you of him that can bring a tear to you eyes, a smile to your face, or a big belly laugh. Bless you brother, stay strong.

I feel you Rickk. This song was on the first CD I ever owned. A gift from my father to me when I was 10 or 11. Five years ago he collapsed in our living room and passed away in my arms. I feel you. You have the love and support of every father and son out there. Please give your mom a hug from me, and you also.

I came over from your "That's My Job" vid. You might have heard it before but another great song about a father and son's unbreakable love is "Cat's in the Cradle" by Harry Chapin. From cradle to the grave, no love is stronger than a parent's love for their children. I hope your Pops is in another realm and able to watch over you and protect you. But even if that isn't the way it is, he is in you. You carry his DNA and he lives on in you. You're right. Death is the reward for a life well lived. You are the proof that your father did great things in this world. You represent his life. God bless.

"Cat's in the Cradle" is not a song about unbreakable love. It's a song about a father neglecting his son for his work, and it came back to haunt him when his son grew up. It's a song about play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

God, I bawled at this. I lost my Dad in 2010 but the thing was, he died before he saw me join the navy by only a week. He was so proud that someone in our family made it to that point but he didn't even get to see it. George Strait has the ability to transcend time and emotion to where you most connect with his songs. I love your reaction, man, so much love to you!

Hey bro, your relationship with your dad was and still is a wonderful thing to be cherished forever. Although I didn’t have any type of relationship with my dad I often find myself thinking about what my life would have been like if I had. You help me realize the potential benefits that loving and supportive parents can provide to their children. Peace and love.

God bless you Rikk ! This had me in tears as well . I got to go to a George Strait concert, 2nd row seats shortly after my Daddy died suddenly. I was crying my eyes out as he sang this song. After he sang it he threw me his kerchief out of his pocket, winked, smiled and blew me a kiss. I smiled through my tears. I've lost my Momma, my Daddy, my brother, 2 sisters . And my Husband 13 years ago this month. Songs like this get me but brings back good memories. Much love, big hugs and prayers to you and you family from a Great Grandma in Kansas ❤️

We feel with ya, brother! It never gets better, but it gets more bearable. Celebrate the good times you had with him if you're able. Celebrate his life for him, as the man he was. And honor the man he was. It's how we honor our honored dead. And, honestly, the fastest and cleanest way past the worst of our grief. It's DIFFICULT, don't get me wrong. But you come out the other side so much happier.

I got a phone call from him after a really busy day, wasnt in the best of moods so I let it go to voice mail, a week later I got the news he had killed himself, I cant help, but wonder if he was calling cause he needed someone to talk to, if I had picked up that phone would he still be here, he was a huge Garth Brooks fan so Ive been listening to his music a lot, as Garth says in his song, "tell that someone that you love, just what youre thinking of, if tomorrow never comes."

First of all I want to share my condolences to you & your family. This is my first watch of your channel, & within a few hours I’ve watched 5 videos. I’m early 30s, my dad is still here. Our relationship isn’t strained or bad but we just don’t “click” or see eye to eye on a lot of things. He grew up without a dad, had a lot of abusive stepdads. He is nothing like his stepdads, though he grew up rough, he is a great dad. Every year I get older I wish somehow we could get past the surface level of father son relationship & I could get to know him as a man. That’s a two way street I know, but your videos have inspired me to remedy it. Because of your repeated pleas & advice, I immediately went to my folks to hug them both & tell them I love them. Keep doing what you’re doing, god bless.

I am so sorry for the loss of your Dad. It sounds like you had a wonderful relationship with him. Hold your memories close. I lost my dad in 2018. We played this song at his funeral service. I miss my Dad still. This song always brings me to tears... I know every word to this song. Thank you. And blessings to you.
