George Strait, King of Country. Still going. Deep, deep catalog. One you should check out "The Chair" and "The Fireman" are some of his early stuff back in the 80s.

George is the king of traditional country music, still making music after 40 years. Hard to pick a favorite song out of 60+ #1 hits (not to mention those that didn't quite make it to #1, along with a lot of great album cuts), but I'd like to request Give It Away. Heartbreakingly stunning. Thanks for this reaction.

Some selections to try - Amarillo by Morning, The Fireman (yes, please do this one lol), The Seashores of Old Mexico, All My Exes Live in Texas. George Strait is my all time favorite. I used to see him back in my college days at Southwest Texas when he was first starting out. (Giving away my age here) George Strait was that cute cowboy from the area fronting the Ace In The Hole Band (who still backs him to this day). He has never looked back, never bent for the Nashville honchos.. always did his own style. George is Texas country music, dancehall type, through and through. It's all danceable, hence the cadence you mention. George is legend here in Texas. He did a fairwell tour a few years ago and filled the Cowboys stadium, SRO 100,000+. He is semi retired these days, with a light tour schedule and some resident stays in Vegas. George even made a movie, Pure Country back in 1992. Thank you for trying out George..

He is the very best in country music!

King George is the real deal! His library spans decades and just as good today as when it was first recorded. His 60+ number ones are just a start - one of my favorites is " Cowboys like Us" - shout out to the steel horses!

Grew up in the north & ended up in the south, so I’ve heard all types of music & enjoyed them all. It’s so great to see a younger generation appreciate it as much as I do. I thank you. Don’t know if you have ever listened to The Righteous Brothers from the 60’s or not but please listen to You’ve Lost That Loving Feeling, it’s the best song ever. No auto tune, black & white, most played song ever on the radio back then. You won’t believe the range of each voice. I’d appreciate it.

Saw George Strait in concert a few years back. He sounds exactly the same in person, best concert I’ve ever been to!

I've seen King George many many times at everything from small intimate venues to football Stadium tours. At his concert there's no fancy lights or smoke it's all about the music. George has actually rode in rodeos and has a working Ranch. He doesn't just sing about that life..He's About That Life.

@George Straitofficial I have been a fan of George for as long as I can remember. I have memories of many different songs playing at different moments as I was growing up. My nephew standing up on a pew during a wedding and singing “write this down” during the bridal march. And sitting in the back of the van my sisters wrecked singing Baby Blue.

He's King George for a reason, 50+ #1 hits, among multiple awards and he has never wrote a song that he's recorded. He retired from touring a few years back to go back to the rodeo and team rope with his son George Jr aka bubba did some Las Vegas residency shows but is back making music. And I think his son is in his band but I'm not 💯 on that.

Every country music lover knows George Strait. I admire him and love his voice. He is also so damn good looking and that smile he has melts every women's heart. It did mine. George Jones was always my favorite and George Strait and Alan Jackson were my next favorites. Both of them stick to their roots. Together they make an awesome duo. Love both of them. I have been blessed to live during the times and hear all of these great artists. 60's-70s-80s-90s to the present. I appreciate most all types of music...especially enjoy pentatonix and Disturbed.....even heavy metal, rock, rap, instrumentals,folk music, country, country rock,acid rock, grunge, ballads, hymns etc. Not something I would expect you would think to hear from a 64 year old woman... Not so much opera although there have been exceptions to that rule. Music can soothe all beasts on this earth to Temperance and Peace if they would just allow it. Bless you!
