In an interview with Aretha she said she loved and respected George. Even at the tender age of 21,22. When sang the duet, she knew he was Uber talented. She requested that he write and produce an entire album for her. He obviously was flattered but very intimidated and couldn’t imagine telling Aretha what to do. This song won a Grammy. And this song gave Aretha her first number one in the UK. You need to check out the duets George did with Whitney, Ray Charles, Tony Bennett, Elton John, Queen, Stevie W, Muyta Buena and Smokey. I’m sure I’ve missed a few. I love this man!

One of the best duets they sound so beautiful together Aretha Franklin is a true legend. George michael I read was very nervous doing this due with her. He said that how do compete with a true legend he was afraid he wouldn't do his parts good , I think they both nailed this song and sound so great together. This won the Grammy for best duet in 87 or 88. One of the best. Notice George kinda stays in the background to let Aretha shine. She was his idol. This took her career up again especially in UK. When he did his “Faith” tour, she showed up in Detroit n they performed this. He says in his book he hid in her house for 3 days. He loved her chicken, greens n corn bread. She cooked for him n Stevie Wonder. George was about 22 yrs old at this time.
