One of the greatest lead guitarist in Rock history...his name Rod Price, who unfortunately passed away in 2005. Singer/guitarist Lonesome Dave Peverett passed away in 2000 from cancer.

@@brandonnshante Okay, Foghat began in 1971 when 3 members left the English Blues band Savoy Brown to form their own band. They were singer/guitarist Lonesome Dave Peverett, bassist Tony Stevens, and drummer Roger Earl. Blues lead guitarist extraordinaire Rod Price joined the other 3 to become Foghat. First album in 1972. They are a Blues/Boogie/Rock influence, and during the 1970’s became one of the biggest draws live in concert. In fact, their 1977 LIVE is known to be one of the best live albums of the time. In 1975 bassist Tony Stevens left the band and was replaced by American Craig McGregor. In 1981 the great lead guitarist Rod Price, also known as King of Slide guitar, left the band after a decade of non-stop touring, and a direction the band was getting away from their roots. In the early 1990’s the original members got back together, which the concert you see here with “Slow Ride” recorded in 1998 in Dayton Ohio. Singer Lonesome Dave became ill and died of cancer in 2000. Rod Price left again to do solo CD’s and passed away from a fall at home in 2005. Today the ONLY remaining member is drummer Roger Earl, and to me they are only a tribute band. Singer Lonesome Dave who also was a very good guitarist, and the great Rod Price who was perhaps the most diverse lead guitarist playing both bottleneck slide and standard styles were the true heart of this great live band…they were the dynamic duo and the real FOGHAT. You can check my channel for some old live performances from the early 1970’s when they were younger & thinner. I was very fortunate to be acquainted with Rod Price, and I wish he was still playing today. He was remarkable on that guitar. If you want to hear the ultimate jam guitar song is here from their LIVE 1977 album called Honey Hush where Rod Price playing standard style lead guitar goes supersonic. Hold on to your seat! 😆 kzread.info/dash/bejne/hpij0tJqf82ycZc.html

Couple of things. Song is purely about sex. Slow Ride. Slow Down etc...the last part of the song with the guitar and the build up of the rythem is to simulate an orgasim. Hence the build up to a climactic finally.
