Guys.. this is NOT about driving in a car! And the last long riff was the "climax" of his slow ride! My favorite Foghat song is "I Just Wanna Make Love To You!" And if you ever played Guitar Hero, this is the first song on there! ❤️🎼🎸✌️

@Asia and BJ This was released in 1975. Seventies had some serious funk over all. It was folk crashing into the rock. Not about cars, clearly. Now this is also a traveling song. Top down, blasting this down the Pacific Hwy in California. Dolphins in the ocean on one side, rolling green meadows with cows grazing, on the other side. I just close my eyes and go there. One of the prettiest places in this country, rocking to great music. Note… song used in Allstate commercial. BJ… no problem with talking with your hands. We Italians communicate best that way! 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣

HOLY MOLY! This song is the epitome of “Gettin’ it on”. It’s a great song. I remember when it came out. That was in the 70’s. Fast Forward to 1993. That’s when Richard Linklater’s “Dazed & Confused” hit the scene. You know, Matthew McConaughey’s first movie and where he coined the phrase “Alright, Alright, Alright”. So, this song was at the end. For me, it is a memory-placement song because I think about that movie when I hear it.

This was the birthday present I askef for and my 1st concert experience. This is probably their most popular song. I love this song but it is usually their only song you hear on the radio. The two albums before this one,Fool for the City, contain really good 70s rockin, funky tunes. Try Step Outside, Dreamer, and Chateau L'efit '59 Boogie. These are some good examples of early 70s British rock.

True, true this song is not about riding in a car, its a total metaphor for slow sex in the afternoon, BUT this song will forever be linked for me to being 16 years old in 1979 and riding the backroads of South Georgia with my boyfriend in his Trans Am with the t-tops out on a sunny summer day...wearing my halter top, cut off jeans and Farrah Fawcett hair, of course! This 70s music always sounded better blaring out of a Trans Am tape deck.

It was in the movie Dazed & Confused. Set in Texas. Last day of school in 1976. If you want to understand the 70s you should watch it. The movie where Matthew McConaughey coined his "alright, alright, alright" phrase.

That squealing you hear throughout the song is the late great Rod Price on Slide guitar. That solo at the end is ear piercing beautiful.

love you guys . . . so glad you're enjoying all the great music I grew up with. And how back in the 60's-80's "our" music was Awsome, there were "hidden meanings in alot of songs to reference SEX DRUGS AND ROCK n ROLL. . . . it was like all had a secret message ! And the songs were great music and wholsome. No crazy vulgar BS . . even whem speaking about the "bad" elaments out there, it was done with respect and in fun. . .so glad you are enjoying my youth . . through the music. . .enjoy

This song is all about "making love".....they were huge fans of the great bluesman Muddy Waters.....sung by the late great Handsome Dave Preverette....this band was one of the great touring bands of the late '70s early '80s....their tour included Boston...ZZ Top....Nazareth and Foghat... imagine that lineup for a concert ...Ted Nugent was with them at the Texas Jam concerts....🎉....my other favorite is "Third Time Lucky" which was their last Top 40 hit

One of the best live bands I ever saw with all original members . Lonesome Dave on lead vocals RIP Lonesome Dave and Rod Price . One of the Best versions of Sweet home Chicago is Foghat 1997 live . Rod a little out of shape at that point but could still play that Slide guitar like nobody else . Foghat came from the Blues band Savoy Brown formed Foghat and added Rod Price
