Based on a true story. She grew up in a small town (3 or 4 K) and first year university was a bit of culture shock when she was told people she hadn't met didn't like her. IIRC she may be graduating this year. Again, IIRC, she turns 22 in July. Also, self taught vocalist but 11 years of classical piano training.

I’m so glad you mentioned her expressive left hand. She managed to act it out her lyrics even while playing the piano.

I love Faouzia reactions. Any of her own songs, like this one, or collaborations, or covers, have something interesting. Arabic is her first language, then French and English. That definitely had an impact on how she shapes sound. I’ll be back for whatever you do from her. There’s a stripped version of the song she did with Galantis “I Fly” that I haven’t seen a reaction too. It’s good for seeing and hearing what she does with a normal pop song. 🌸I just watched your Ariana & Kelly reaction. Faouzia was one of the featured voices on Kelly’s multi lingual “I Dare You”. There is an all Arabic version with just Faouzia and Kelly. The lyric video is on Kelly’s website, but there is a leaked split screen video with both of them singing straight to camera. And so close you can practically see tonsils. Very cool.

Faouzia is definitely one of the best vocalists around she's just phenomenal. Thank you so much for your wonderful reaction . 🧡

She's such a powerhouse. I love her original song Don't Tell Me I'm Pretty and her cover of Eiffel 65's Blue. They're both beautiful and she blesses us with more of her Moroccan magic.

great reaction you describe her attitude in expressing herself very intuitively. we canadians have known about her for awhile .she caught our attention when she won a big worldwide songwriting contest when she was 17, beating out artists from well over a hundred countries. what a lot of fans do not know is that she has never had singing lessons but is a concert level pianist and violinist. i think you would freak out over her tears of gold stripped .enjoy.

Great reaction! You're going to have so much fun going down this rabbit hole. No matter what you choose, it'll be stellar. All of the covers, all of the originals and the whole "Stripped" series. "Tears of Gold (Stripped)" and ,"Bad Dreams (Stripped)" are my personal favorites. Along with "Puppet", and her brilliant cover of Eiffel 65's ,"Blue". The first thing that introduced me to Faouzia was the original music video for "Tears of Gold". I'll always have a special place for that one. 🙂

Faozia is awesome and I love her voice. It amazes me that she not only writes her own lyrics, is a classically trained pianist, plays the violin, has a beautiful voice with a HUGE range, but is also going to school to be an engineer, so she has the brains along with beauty. I haven't found a song of hers I don't like yet but one of my favorites is Bad Dreams.

Listen to some of her stripped versions. i.e. "Tears of Gold" Stripped. The pop songs cover up a lot of her singing skill.

Watch her live performance of “Elon” at the end of her burton Cummings theatre concert. Chills and breath taking. The lyrics are such a masterpiece too!

chills or thrills just listen to her singing Desert Rose at the Dubai concert or at the Arabic concert in Canada much better than all those raspy or soft voiced artists who need oxygen to continue their singing!

Well the rest of us felt it. LMAO. She gives it to us all the time. I am always at a loss of breath and amazed by her amazing emotive and vocal talent. That’s why I have heard this songs playing in my head over and over many days a week.

Guys you don’t have to pretend that this song didn’t do it for you just because this this person is claiming that they didn’t feel it. I see you listing other songs that if you’re trying to make up for this one, why? This is a brilliant one and if you thought so before reading that person‘s comment, there is no need to shy away from this song and loving it now. She has an amazing catalog.
