This song was after MMLP and Eminem Show so he was already insanely huge, but this song/movie helped him (and rap) blow up overseas. A few other rappers had been popular in some European countries in particular, but this exploded it and took the genre to places like Africa, Asia, and India

@@xerozeven what I said is factually correct, so I’m sorry if you take issue with reality. It was #1 in 24 countries and charted in places that had never had a rap song on the charts before. The statistics and success of the movie and song don’t care about your feelings or rapper preferences. Eminem has referenced this in songs many times, because the stats clearly show how much sales exploded with that song and the impact of global sales in the genre before and after that movie was released. It was the first introduction to rap music for many, much as Walk This Way was in the US.
