"Funeral for a Friend/Love Lies Bleeding" will definitely take you for a ride like no other Elton John song. Imagine getting lyrics from Bernie and coming up with this.
"The One" is another one of my favourite Elton songs. You definitely need to check that one out.

The song we chose for when my wife walked down the aisle on our wedding day. Such a beautiful and underrated song
This was the "B" side of his "Candle in the Wind" tribute to Princess Diana. When I first played, I couldn't believe it! Fantastically powerful!

Both songs actually shared A-Side status on this one. The true B-Side was "You Can Make History (Young Again)", a song that had itself been an A-Side a year prior, though it didn't do very well.

For whatever reason, my CD single does not contain "You Can Make History". (???) @@robdaviesprogm

@@guarddave That's really interesting! Wikipedia says that "History" was the B-Side worldwide, but Google Images is showing a *lot* of back covers that don't have the song listed on there. Maybe it was only included in certain territories? I'm not sure.
Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony winning artist Elton John. The 19th EGOT winner in the world. What a great talent.
You 2 will love "I Don't wanna go on with you like that." Another Elton classic. Amazing reaction as usual. 😊

I remember this being the "b" side of the "Candle In The Wind 1997" single a tribute to Princess Diana. A good song in its own right. Only about another 100 EJ songs to go! 😅 React to "Island Girl" or "The Bitch Is Back" next. Thanks. 😎

That duo is GREAT!
This is just one of my all-time favorites from Elton.
When I haven't heard this song for a while and it comes on, it takes my breath away.
This song is special for me because I met my girlfriend discussing Elton John. I remember us attending an Elton John concert, dancing and singing this song toneach other. Definitely one.of his best ballads ever! EJ is one of Rocks greatest artist and piano men ever! A total genius.
This song was released as a double A-Side with "Candle in the Wind 1997" (the rewrite for Princess Diana). This single was what drew me into Elton's music in a way that it hadn't previously (for context, I was 13 at the time). I then went down the incredible rabbit hole that is his back catalogue. "Something About the Way" is often overlooked due to the overexposure it got at the time because it was on the Diana single. Thank you for shining some light on it.
My favorite Elton song is Philadelphia Freedom.

Came out in 1997. Still puts flutters in my stomach all these years later.
I lovvvve this song! Elton John has always been awesome with his music. And yes, Philadelphia Freedom was one of my favs!
Have you reacted to Philadelphia Freedom? Came out in '75 I think. It was def early disco and paid living homage to TSOP, the sound of Philadelphia. The TSOP sound was huge in the mid 70s. Plenty of the strings and horns in the tight orchestration.

Believe, You Gotta Love Someone and This Train Don't Stop are three of my favourites - that I don't think you've done yet. And you MUST watch his duet with George Michael - Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me. It will BLOW you both out of your chairs. Hugs from Ontario, Canada! :)

I agree with you. For me This Train Don’t stop there anymore it’s my favorite Elton’s song and the video is superb!
I love this song. Elton John is amazing.
The 50's we had Elvis, 60's we had the greatest band ever in The Beatles and the 70's -2024 generations have had Elton!
I recommend Elton John's I Want Love (with the video). It's not one of his most popular songs but it's one of my favorites. I saw him years ago with Billy Joel (The Rocket Man & Piano Man tour) at Clemson's football stadium and it was awesome.
Another great song like this is the criminally under rated song The One. Just a great song not to mention the music video is amazing. I would be remiss if I didn't mention the great 1974 song Harmony.
Your right you can never go wrong with Sir Elton John, loved him since I was ten in the early 70s, LoL since "Crocodile Rock".♥️🙏✝️✌️😎
“I will” by The Beatles is amazing I would highly recommend it if you haven’t listened/reacted to it yet.

Definitely one of the most neglected Beatles songs ever! I guess because it is buried within the lengthy "White Album" if I'm not mistaken, it is placed near the crazy, silly and odd song "Why Don't We Do It In The Road?"😂😂
As a pianist, there’s nobody I enjoy more than Elton and Billy Joel. My piano teacher from 4 years old until I was 12, tried to make me play all the classical musicians, and I did, but she knew my heart wasn’t in it. She finally let me start doing one modern artist a month when I was 12. I stayed with her until I was 18 and left due college. She played at my wedding, and she played mostly modern songs. ❤️

Jay and Amber, This was the B-side to Candle in the Wind, the tribute to Princess Diana, in 1997. The B-side became an A-side when radio started playing the track more than the Princess Di tribute. Together, the double A-sided 45 became the biggest selling record of all time (not counting Christmas songs) and stayed at #1 for 14 weeks. I keep looking for you to listen to my all-time favorite song, "Philadelphia Freedom," which is his tribute to Billie Jean King (her tennis team was the Philadelphia Freedoms). The song is a masterpiece and was even performed by Elton on Soul Train! It's an absolute gem. And it was a huge number one hit in 1975.
Sir Elton John has had so many hits that I knew I must know this song, but I couldn't remember it at all until it began. He was known for Pinball Wizard, but he was a hit wizard.🔥🥇
The single and its video were dedicated to the memory of Diana, Princess of Wales, who died that year
This is the biggest selling single in the UK. Double A side with Candle in the Wind, tribute to Princess Diana.
Guys you'll love his "Healing Hands" , released in 1989 and was a top-20 hit in the United States
Great reaction! You guys should definitely react to the live version of this song that Elton did with Shania Twain, it is magical!
You really need to do the film 'Rocket man" which is Elton John's life story it is full of his music and so interesting and when your as old as me i could remember alot of what happened but the film gave you behind the scenes
Nice to see you listen to more of Elton's later catalogue.
Im still just as captivated by this song as i was when i first heard it as a child in the 90s
Just a legend.
He sang with Olivia Newton-John his famous song "Candle in the wind" in 1980, hope we can hear it soon.
Elton John just became an EGOT winner as well as being a Rock & Roll Hall of famer both greatly deserved !!! Also he had atleast one #1 song every year for 25 straight years he is a Legend !!
Have you guys heard “Candle In The Wind” yet? Beautiful song 🎵
A real feel good song of Bernie/Elton John songs ❤
This is one of favorite Elton John songs.
Love this song and you should also check out Elton John's "The One" sometime as well, Jay amd Amber!

Best Elton John song of the 90s in my opinion I was in high school when it come out been singing it at karaoke for 25 plus years
Elton John! The name says it all! What a legend!!!
Hi Jay and Amber. Jay I know you love piano and Amber I know you love Bernie's lyrics. When you get a chance, I again please ask you to review 2 Elton classics that combine both: "Ticking" (from Caribou album), and "Indian Sunset" (Madman Across the Water). You think you knew Elton before. OMG - these 2 will B.L.O.W. Y.O.U. A.W.A.Y. :) Enjoy y'all's reactions soooo much. Bill in Metairie/NOLA. :)
I started listening to Sir Elton around about 1971 ish with his album Tumbleweed Connection, then right away to Madman Across The Water and been a fan ever since. This selection is not one of my personal favourites in comparison to some of his other work, but having said that anytime and selection of songs by him is okay by me. 🍺😎☮️

I began hearing Elton John as a toddler. I strictly remember hearing my older siblings playing "Your Song" along side Michael Jackson's "Ben"- the first record I bought as a 45 for $1.50. There was never a time when EJ wasn't playing in my home, job, or school even! I picked up on his music instantly especially because of his outfits on television! I, like many, have literally grown up with Elton John's music as my life's soundtrack!
My wife and I had the pleasure of seeing him live a couple years ago and we were so glad we did...amazing show and SO many good songs, my favorite being "I Guess That's Why They Call It The Blues"
This is technically the biggest selling single in the UK ever. I say technically, because the vast, vast majority of sales were due to EJ's reworking of "Candle in the Wind" for Princess Diana's funeral.
I love "Made in England" by Elton from 1995, where the lyrics were written by Bernie but the story was Elton's childhood and early adulthood. Great tune too!
I don’t know why I always feel very emotional with this song ❤
Philadelphia Freedom...what a banger!
Most concert tickets sold in the last 40 years: (Elton below) #1: U2 = 26M+ #2: Dave Matthews Band = 23M+ #3: Rolling Stones = 22M+ #4: Bruce Springsteen = 20M+ #5: Elton John = 19M+ On the channel: U2 = 10 reactions Dave = 1 reaction Stones = 22 reactions Bruce = 3 reactions Elton = 27 reactions More Dave and Bruce please!
Lovely.
Another song played inside CVS, heard it a lot. Such a classic. So mellow. Elton is a legend.
Love this song❤ love your channel too ❤️
Guys this song came out the same year Princess Diana left us (1997) one of Elton's big hits of the 1990s. guys 1975 was a big year for Elton he had 2 number one songs that year Philadelphia Freedom and Island Girl and in 1979 he had a top ten record Mama can't buy you love probably his most underrated song hope you consider these songs in the near future. keep up the great work guys.
He has done a duet with Leann Rimes called written in the stars, which is awesome. Also The One is a fantastic song, one of my favourites. The 90s is my favourite era of Elton’s.
So, as a New Orleans native I'm loving your Pelicans cap... but more than that I LOVE LOVE LOVE this song... certainly among Sir Elton's top five songs... it's just astoundingly beautiful and romantic. And THAT VOICE. My God. I can't decide if he or Ray Charles is the greatest singer we've ever had... but what a wonderful choice that question is.
One of my faves by him along with 'The One' & 'I Want Love' 😊
Check out - "I Don't Wanna Go On with You Like That", ". Also, a supergroup with Elton, Stevie Wonder, Dionne Warwick & Gladys Knight - "That's What Friends are For".
It's quite amazing really the way these songs evolved, Bernie Taupin writing the lyrics and Elton putting the music to them, it's been such a legendary and successful pairing
Bernie & Elton are pure gold together ❤
Never seen this video. But the sentiment of that song is so relatable and beautiful. Elton has some amazing songs
Cheap trick " l want you to want me" another great 70 song!
Elton John is just the knees bees!! He turns out hit after hit.
Love abit of Sir Elton , Amber can we have more of Babs please from the album A Star Is Born, then you can snuggle up on the sofa with your fella J and watch the movie ❤❤❤😊
🇬🇧 God that's good! ❤ ”Philadelphia Freedom", another good one. 🎵🎼❤️
Another great song from Elton. Whether it be ballads, pop or rock, he just hits the spot and moves you. Another great song by him is 'Religion'-Colin Ward
This is my favorite Elton song
Love this song and Elton John
I’ve just recently discovered you guys and I love your reactions! I’ve had the privilege of seeing Elton John in concert 3 times, the last concert was during his final tour. One of my absolute favorites of his isn’t well known, but he has stated he feels it was underrated. Please give Mona Lisas and Mad Hatters a listen! He truly is the soundtrack to my life!
This is my song! Chill-inducing, romancey-dancey goodness! You couldn't not rock with it Jay.
Amber & Jay, here are some other good Elton John songs to react to: "I Don't Wanna Go On With You Like That", "Mama Can't Buy You Love", "Sad Songs (Say So Much)", "Sick City", "Harmony", and "Salvation".

Definately Philadelphia freedom, but he has a massive discography that you havent explored yet. Good luck
I want to have the talent of Elton John
My favorite Elton John song.
Yes! Thank you so much guys for doing this song. It's my favorite EJ song. About the video, it features a bunch of UK celebrities from the 90s. Most famous is model Kate Moss. Includes the cast of hit show This Life which starred Walking Dead actor Andrew Lincoln.
This is a major Elton John/Bernie Taupin favorite!!!
Sir Elton John. ❤ I love y’all’s reactions .
To think that this song is in the tracklist of the biggest selling single ever.
His song "Blessed" will hit right at home for you!
A really beautiful one 😊❤❤
from 1997. that was the year i saw him in concert the first time.
It's a great video trying to spot every famous face. The UK tv show was massive at the time and he put the cast in the video. ❤❤
Beautiful song and again, a great reaction. “Ticking” from the 1974 album “Caribou”, Funeral for a Friend/Love Lies Bleeding from 1973’s “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road”, “The Last Song” from the 1992 album “The One” which, like “Sacrifice” being Bernie’s bookend to “Your Song”, could be the bookend to the 1970 song “The Greatest Discovery” from the “Elton John” album.
For your movie reactions you will really enjoy the very entertaining and creative movie, "Rocketman," about Elton's life and early years with Bernie Taupin. A wild Elton duet to react to is "Act of War" with the outrageous and ferocious Millie Jackson.
Seen Elton live a few times, always brilliant. One of the concerts was the year this song was a hit, we were about 6 rows from the front and I caught a drum stick that was thrown into the crowd (not a chicken one 😁). So many great tunes of his to suggest but Kiss The Bride, The Club At The End Of The Street , Sad Songs Say So Much , Whitewash County and Runaway Train (featuring Eric Clapton) are great tunes.
"Healing hands" is another song you have to react, you gotta love it. Love you guys.✌
Elton John is amazing!
Good song good reaction
Love this song! So romantic! My husband and I got married in 1992 after his "The One" album/song came out and I almost picked "The One" as my wedding song. Instead I went with Sea of Love by the Honeydrippers (Robert Plant). If this had been available on The One album, it would definitely have been my pick! Yahoo for 33 years of marriage!
This is one of Elton John's best songs. It exudes maturity and class.
One of my first memories of Elton John was seeing him perform this song on Oprah. I’ve loved his music ever since, and this is definitely a song I want my husband and I dance to at our wedding.
Elton John and Bernie Taupin = recipe for success!
The movie Rocketman is a must-watch. Once you understand what Elton and Bernie went through to become what they are, you will have a new appreciation for their music. Truly remarkable.
Awesome! Elton John is so fantastic. I think you'd really love some songs from his down-home album "Tumbleweed Connection". I'd recommened "Country Comfort" and "Where to Now St. Peter" for starters! I hope you both have a wonderful day!
For something unique try Patti LaBelle and Elton do "Your Song," RuPaul and Elton do Don't Go Breaking my Heart", or Elton do the Tammy Wynette tribute, "Stand By Your Man".
The entire "Elton John" album is worth a listen. Love the songs "Sixty Years On", "The Greatest Discovery" and "Take me to the Pilot" from that album
