Ahhh those strings, Jeff and Kelly's vocals.... all the way back to 1975 when I was 10 and now this phenomenal band have contributed greatly to the soundtrack of my life. Thank you Tyler, Merrisa, Cosmo and E.L.O. 🙏😊👍❤️
This is a hidden beauty from The ELO. I love it!! Best regards from Chile! 🙂
Someone finally did Nightrider!! Can you believe this didn't chart in the UK?
Wow. Big jump back. If you want a real surprise....... Do the opening track from this album "Fire on High". It's guaranteed to catch you by surprise. Jeff sure knows how to open an album."Sweet is the Night" is another song where Kelly Groucutt shares the verses with Jeff.
For me Nightrider was a vision into what was to come with the "A new world record" and "Out of the blue" albums. Jeff and Kelly's vocals work together so well on this song
Happy 30th ELO Reaction!!! This was great, thanks for taking my suggestion, I'm glad you both liked it. Marissa, shout out to you for correctly identifying the verse that bassist/backup singer, Kelly Groucutt, took turns on with Jeff, I just love the way their voices complement each other. And Jeff's vocal acrobatics on the line, *"Nobody ever knows a girl",* is so Lennon-esque. For your next ELO reaction, I suggest you go alllllll the way back to the beginning, to the very first ELO song ever made. Called, *"10538 Overture",* It's awesome, and tells the haunting tale of an escaped con (Prisoner # 10538) searching for a place to hide in his home town, but the authorities are on his tail. When grabbing the link, do *NOT* choose the one from the Mr. Blue Sky compilation album as the song was re-made in 2012 and is not as good as the original. The original is, however, on the compilation album called Flashback. ps~FYI, once again the volume was way too low for us, and the sound quality was poor. Hopefully you heard it better through your headphones. But what we heard was not very good.

What Cosmo says, as always. Also, have a go at the anti-war song _Kuiama_ is a very strong early song, telling a story with a crushing plot twist that deserves not to be spoiled.

@@lhpl I think the 11-minute length of, "Kuiama", might be too long for their attention spans. Maybe I'm wrong.

@@lhpl I would agree with you, if I wasn't so modest.
Nightrider has to be one of my favourites, loved the reaction! If you want to go further into early ELO ‘Showdown’ or ‘Ma-Ma-Ma Belle’ are two of their best early hits from their third album ‘On the Third Day’

Nightriders was a group Jeff Lynne was in early on.
Thanks, Marissa! Thanks, Tyler! 🌃 #TylerCreatesContent #TCCReacts #ELO #ElectricLightOrchestra #Nightrider
Even more so than Eldorado, Face The Music was the real transitional album for Electric Light Orchestra. This was where Jeff Lynne was moving away from progressive rock into the more melodic, Hooks & Hits sound they would become famous for. But Lynne wisely brought the orchestra and chorus along with them for the ride, which is what made them so unique and beloved through the remainder of the 1970’s and into the early 80’s. ❤

This is also the first album that bassist, vocalist Kelly Groucutt played, he was a game changer
At 61 years young I remember this coming out and blew us away
I’ve been an ELO fan for more than fifty years. It’s great going back to the early albums and following the band’s evolution in to the absolute musical juggernaut of ‘Out of the Blue’. So many wonderful songs to endlessly enjoy. Both Kelly groucutt (bass) and Bev Bevan (drums) also did vocals
Well done Merissa, it was Kelly Groucutt the other voice you heard. He was a very talented, funny and special guy. R.I.P Kelly
One of my favorite ELO songs 🎵 ❤️
Jeff's band prior to The Move/ELO was called "The Nightriders". Made me chuckle when you tried to pause the track and the track said "NO, TYLER; GO FORTH AND MULTIPLY!"
Check out Kelly Groucutt's "Am I A Dreamer?" Such an amazing catchy song.
Excelente Nightrider. Para la proxima reaccion vayan "straight to the Heart" con el otro suceso musical de ELO. "*Telephone Line*" del Album "A new world Record" de 1976. No hubo ranking en el mundo que no estuvo esta cancion.
Love ELO!
🤘🤘😝😝
Next to Fire On High, this is my favorite song on ELO's best album. I was thirteen in 1975 and I couldn't stop playing this album.
Their best album, I think.
One of the finest exports from the West Midlands 👍
Love your reactions - Early ELO is great. You will love Kuiama, Showdown, Evil Woman and Bluebird is Dead
All Over the World from Xanadu soundtrack and the first track from their first album 10538 Overture are awesome.
Enjoyed your reaction. This is a great album 👍
Please keep listening to their earlier tracks. "El Dorado". "Can't Get it Out of My Head", and "Evil Woman" are great!
Daybreaker from ELO from On The Third Day
React to "Poker." It will blow you away! Want a little country twang? Try " Down Home Town."
Nice reaction both. I’d love you to hear your comments on an early deep cut called Momma, a beautiful haunting song in which you can feel the way Jeff would take the band later 👍
"California Man" by the Move shows ELO still called the Move, just before the ELO singles took over but with Jeff
Dont know your exact ages (and its not exactly relevant anyway) but when this song came out I was 16 and had been listening to ELO since I guess '73, whenever Roll Over Beethoven came out and was on the Midnight Special. So like two years later Face The Music came out and being a fairly astute and knowledgeable about the music I listened to teen-ager, my reaction to the new "pop"sound of ELO was like, OK we dont need another Bee Gees (with Strings) and ELO dropped off my radar. Granted they certainly profited from FTM and New World Record, but then they were done and I really hardly noticed.
Backup , organ player 2nd verce
Kelly should have been allowed to do more lead vocals!
You got Cosmo as a commentator? Y'all in trouble now, that guy knows how to go down different paths in music.
Something is missing from this song. Near or at the bottom of my list for "Face the Music."
Also some of the Move before the ELO project
10538 please which was the first as Electric Light
Cosmo Kramer gets around a bit 😂
Very early ELO. Not a well-known song but one can still hear it's ELO. Their sound is easy to identify.
This whole album is great. You definitely need to hear Fire On High. Evil Woman and Strange Magic were the big hits. Waterfall is beautiful but will probably get blocked. Poker is a rocker and One Summer Dream is the perfect ending.
ELO - Midnight Blue U will like it!

I am very entertained seeing your comments and reactions, I think you would enjoy listening a lot: Secret Messages. Greetings from Barcelona (Spain)
Merissa called it straight away...2nd verse Kelly Groucutt, also, I cant believe @Cosmo-kramer got a namecheck on an ELO reaction again I'm impressed 😅 As for a next song? Have you done 'All Over The World' Yet?

Well, it seems you’ve jumped over to Face The Music- and as such, you HAVE to listen to one of their most ambitious, unique & immersive songs: 𝙁𝙞𝙧𝙚 𝙊𝙣 𝙃𝙞𝙜𝙝
