@@_eclipz_sir, he was official in the streets and everyone who knew him says so, even his kids. He was literally the reason why mfs thought NWA were real gangstas (except Wren) and why they had so much gangsta mfs behind them. Eazy was known in Compton. He basically stamped them. That’s why the hood f*cked with NWA.

In those days, the rap groups were literally hood gangsta's that lived in the hood. Easy-E and that crew were an actual crip set. He was calling out dre and snoop as posers/fake, never lived in the hood, but actors pretending to be gangstas. Easy was telling them, we are the real street gang, not fakers.

There was a timeline for these disses. When Ice Cube left the group cause he felt Easy and Jerry the manager were ripping him off, he thought it was gonna be a peaceful split. But NWA put out "100 Miles and Runnin". Cube went into the studio to record "No Vaseline". Easy and Jerry were FURIOUS, but other members were like, let him have this W. But then Dre left NWA for Death Row, and THIS song was born.

This came after Dre Day, a straight up Easy diss from Dre, and the Dre Day video with Sleazy E. Which is why Eazy takes out Sleazy in this video and references that 'Dre Day only make Eazy's payday,' since Dre still had contractual obligations to Ruthless, so Eazy was getting a percentage on every record Dre sold.

  • @Degner

That was a good tune, I've never heard it before. Growing up, I can remember the older kids talking about Grandmaster Flash and then as I got older in the mid/late 80s, I can remember people talking about NWA, more about the name than the music though. I became a guitar player and went into more hard Rock in my late teens, so rap kind of became the enemy. Now I'm 52 and my mind is wide open. This was good music... Bangin review my man, as usual. Long live the stank face!

Dr. Dre was never in a gang. Eazy-E and MC Ren were Kelly Park Compton Crips, so when Dre was in NWA (1987-1991) that was the affiliation, real-or-implied. But at the time of this song (1993), Dr. Dre was with Death Row, and Death Row were affiliated with Mob Piru Bloods. So he was pretending all over.

Hahaha seems everybody forgot when dr dre was still making house calls with the world class wreckin’ cru 😂😂 And this was a diss to dre and snoop talking shit about easy e on dre day, but dre was still under contract with easy. That’s why that line dre day only meant easy pay day was so destructive. And easy was a gangster who had to learn to rap the rest were rappers learning to act like gangsters. I think thats why his diss track was so good he knew the streets.

Oh just realized the 4:14 means when he said cjeck nuts it meant as in the Nutty Bloc's.. so yeah that makes sense I did not even remember or else catch that meaning of the before..so I just prior figured it was a flex not realizing in itself it is a diss.

Glad to see you liked it. When all this was going down, I thought it was BS how Eazy was being portrayed. Like he was the loser in all this. And those first Dre/Snoop songs and the No Vaseline thing were tough to overcome. But I always felt Eazy did a better job than what most believe in how he responded. And now people put him on a pedestal. Back in 92-93, though, his career was really going downhill. By the time he died, he wasn't even really hot anymore. I never liked the way that all went down.
