The lead singer, Michael McDonald is a legend and has collaborated with many different artists. Check out Ride Like The Wind by Christopher Cross with MM singing background vocals. Also there's Yah Mo Be There with MM and James Ingram, Ever Changing Times with MM and Aretha Franklin, On My Own with MM and Patti LaBelle, This Is It with MM and Kenny Loggins and MM also has an amazing solo career with I Keep Forgettin which was sampled by Warren G and Nate Dogg for Regulate and the song Sweet Freedom!

My siblings and I are all in poor health. We reside in different States throughout the country and were planning to visit one last time before we CR🐸AK. My brother was going to stay with me. I was looking forward to partaking in Doobie Brothers and doobies... for pain relief and to go out with a bong. He surprised us including himself when his medical circumstances suddenly went from bad to worse and stated he was "tapping out". So every time I hear the Doobie Brothers, I think of my brother

What a fool believes he sees, the wise man has the power to reason away! What a POWERFUL statement! Because for a fool: "what seems to be is always better than nothing!" Who would you rather to be in this song? The wise man who knows this women doesn't even know who he is or wants what he wants? Or the fool who thinks just because she smiled at his tale it was for him or that she wanted him? Hmm... I going through reactions for this song with the same question.

I remember the 70's really well. My family worked in steel mills and factories, and back then Blacks and Whites, Hispanics, Italians and Greeks and everyone else lived in the same neighborhoods and worked side by side all day long. At that time we had a shared culture and everyone dug each other's shit. My uncle was the drummer in a band and it was three White guys and two Black guys and they tore that shit up. Parties were always mixed-race and everyone got along and RESPECTED each other. I have no memories of anyone being racist at all; they would rip on each other's stereotypes (in a brotherly way), then cut-up while drinking beers and getting down. I don't where it went wrong but Generation X had nothing to do with it!

I swear I was listening to this song this morning. Please React to Bobby Caldwell - What you won't do for love. Songs like these are often called Blue Eyed Soul. Meaning songs that have a bit of RNB or soul in them but are made by white artists. Some Hall and Oates songs would be described as blue eyed soul as would Dusty Springfield and many other artists

Love the Doobie Brothers for a song by them that can get your blood pumped for the gym try (Dangerous) always a favorite. For a new artist I recommend (Thin Lizzy) my personal favorite by them is (Dancing in the Moonlight). It was one of the first songs that the band had started to experiment with adding jazz with there rock music.

Haha your Gran's got the plug. Hellz yes. This is one of the best songs of all time, and I don't say that... ever. lol One of the plusses of being the baby of the fam, with older parents. Got to tune in to a lot of this musical gold. You gotta get your grandma on a reaction with you guys, that would be dope. Awesome reaction, totally here for the McDonald/Doobie rabbit-hole. :)

Kenny Loggins wrote this with them. Listen to Kenny sing Conviction of the Heart. Considered to be an environmental anthem. I am a fan of Gabriel Henrique as well and think he could sing Kenny's, Michael McDonald's and Doobie Bros' and do it well. Good to see you young kids!! listening to the music of your grandparents!! We rocked!!! Many of us still do!!
