McDonalds solo work after the Doobs is a must. "I Keep Forgettin' " is a great tune with an irresistible bassline hook

That WAS a better recorded version. :-)
Early Doobies was rock. When Michael joined it turned into a groovy, jazzy feel. Be sure to check out their early work.

@@elkalabaw7665 You might have a point. :-) It may have been a bit of that but I think the playing was a little better than the original recording. It's just my opinion.

Yes ...great song.... a gospel tune really
WHAT A FOOL BELIEVES was a #1 song for the Doobies and went on to win both song of the year and record of the year at the 1980 Grammys...Know what I'm saying?
I love the line, "what a fool believes, a wise man has the power to reason away".

What a fool believes, he sees, no wise man has the power to reason away 😉
The lead singer, Michael McDonald is a legend and has collaborated with many different artists. Check out Ride Like The Wind by Christopher Cross with MM singing background vocals. Also there's Yah Mo Be There with MM and James Ingram, Ever Changing Times with MM and Aretha Franklin, On My Own with MM and Patti LaBelle, This Is It with MM and Kenny Loggins and MM also has an amazing solo career with I Keep Forgettin which was sampled by Warren G and Nate Dogg for Regulate and the song Sweet Freedom!

I grew up with the Doobie Brothers playing constantly.......❤
Michael Mc Donald has done alot of duos with other artists Patte La Belle, Aretha Franklin, Christopher Cross, James Ingram, Toni Braxton, Kenny Loggins, and Kenny Rogers, he was a song writer.

You should listen to more Doobie Brothers. I came of age listening to them.
'Long Train Runnin' is a must!!
The Doobie Bros were great.... When I was young, I always thought their name "Doobie" Bros. was fantastic! Of course, now I'm an old woman who uses doobies for medical reasons and not recreational! LOL

You're a Doobie Sister!
The real question is: who wasn't jammin to this in '79?
The writing on this song is just fantastic. "Trying hard to recreate what had never been created" is just [chef's kiss].
I love the fact that you have a very special relationship with your NANA to where you can just call her up anytime and ask her about music. That's a very admirable quality young man. Appreciate and honor your elder family members, they can teach you a lot! Michael McDonald is a legend in the music industry. You can't go wrong with his music! Loved your reaction video.
My siblings and I are all in poor health. We reside in different States throughout the country and were planning to visit one last time before we CR🐸AK. My brother was going to stay with me. I was looking forward to partaking in Doobie Brothers and doobies... for pain relief and to go out with a bong. He surprised us including himself when his medical circumstances suddenly went from bad to worse and stated he was "tapping out". So every time I hear the Doobie Brothers, I think of my brother
Wish I had a time machine to to back and get away from this time. I was 19 when this dropped.
That’s grown folk music What y’all know about that I love when young people react to older music Keep it up yall
Next from Doobies and Michael, his Civil Rights gospel style anthem, Takin It to the Streets- a must!!!! Live versions are great too. Plus live version of It Keeps You Runnin’.
Doobie bros. It keeps you running live
Hi back in the day these artists were on the radio all the time, it's old school I still listen to all this music because it makes me happy, in those days life was more simple I want to say, everyone just loved to dance get ready for Friday night to go out to a club and gave a good time, kinda like happy days for us babybomers lol many thanks
Check out Another Park Another Sunday by The Doobie Brothers, and a duet Michael had with Patti Labelle called " On My Own". It's FIRE FIRE!✌
Try Doobie Brothers "Listen to the music" and Michael Mc Donald and James Ingram "Ya mo be there" - you won't be disappointed. Love you guys 💖
Doobie Brothers - Black Water
Check out The Doobie Brothers Taking it to the streets
DOOBIE BROTHERS PLAYLIST: "Long Train Running" - "Listen to the Music" - "China Grove" - “What a Fool Believes” - “It Keeps You Runnin” - "Taking it to the Streets" - “ Black Water” - “ Rockin’ Down the Highway” - “What a Fool Believes” - “Minute by Minute” - “Take Me in Your Arms”
Two other really jammin' Doobie Brothers songs are Black Water and Listen to the Music. Sweet, sweet harmonies.
Takin It To The Streets is a must. He also sang background vocals for Steely Dan. Start with Peg.
Their follow-up to this is "True Love" by the Doobie Brothers and it's just as good. Same grove. You'll love it.
Doobie Brothers are the official group to throw a Frisbee on the beach to.
It won the Grammy award for song of the year 1979. The song was written by Kenny loggings
This came out when cassette and 8 Track players were in cars back in the day...!! LOL Old enough to be both your Daddy. If you wanna live talent by these guy, check out The Doobie Brothers - It Keeps You Runnin' (1977). This is a live version which shows how simply amazing and talented groups were back in that time as they ALL had to play their instruments at a very high level and the lead sing Michael McDonald has was one of the most iconic voices ever heard. Peace and blessings 2022 (1/12/22)
More Doobie Bros and the band Chicago as well for great music
Please react to Doobie Brother's - Takin To The Streets (live)
Love watching you two put my eras music on and then see you start to smile and feel the magic.
In the 70's we said, "They ain't related, but they do be brothers!".
Minute by Minute by the Doobie Brothers…Fire!
Yes indeed…. Y’all should do Michael McDonald- I keep forgetting 😉
The band is still playing together to day.
“What seems To be Is always better than nothing, Nothing at all.”
What a fool believes he sees, the wise man has the power to reason away! What a POWERFUL statement! Because for a fool: "what seems to be is always better than nothing!" Who would you rather to be in this song? The wise man who knows this women doesn't even know who he is or wants what he wants? Or the fool who thinks just because she smiled at his tale it was for him or that she wanted him? Hmm... I going through reactions for this song with the same question.
Michael McDonald's voice is iconic. He's the one in the center with the beard. You must go down the McDonald Doobie Brothers rabbit hole
The Bros are sooooooo iconic! You have to listen to more of the Dobbies!
See how this song makes you smile? Imagine growing up with song after song making you smile like that. Making you happy. Putting you in a good mood no matter what happened or how bad the weather is. It was an incredible time, and the music was great. I am so glad to see you too enjoying it so much.
Don’t know if it was mentioned by anyone, but Michael McDonald was the singer who sang the vocal harmony parts in the song “Peg” by Steely Dan. “Peg will come back to you!”
I remember the 70's really well. My family worked in steel mills and factories, and back then Blacks and Whites, Hispanics, Italians and Greeks and everyone else lived in the same neighborhoods and worked side by side all day long. At that time we had a shared culture and everyone dug each other's shit. My uncle was the drummer in a band and it was three White guys and two Black guys and they tore that shit up. Parties were always mixed-race and everyone got along and RESPECTED each other. I have no memories of anyone being racist at all; they would rip on each other's stereotypes (in a brotherly way), then cut-up while drinking beers and getting down. I don't where it went wrong but Generation X had nothing to do with it!
"What a Fool Believes" won Grammys for Song of. the Year and Record of the Year.
FLEETWOOD MAC PLAYLIST: “The Chain” - “Gypsy” - “Dreams” - “Go Your Own Way” - “Rhiannon” - “Gold Dust Woman” - “Sara” - “Landslide” - “Never Going Back Again” -“Tusk” - “Over My Head” - “Say You Love Me” - “You Make Lovin Fun” -“Hold Me” - “ Sweet Girl” - “Everywhere” - “Don’t Stop” - “Second Hand News” - “Silver Springs”

How about "Hypnotized" from the Peter Green days. Great song, great lyrics. I've seen a video on Utube with Lynsey Buckingham singing lead and Stevie Nicks singing backup. Must be from around the time they first joined the band.
Love how you guys can vibe with a song that was released so many decades ago! Good music is good music!
This tune won Best Record of the year and Best Song of the year at the 1980 Grammy's.
Early Doobie Brothers, before Michael McDonald,. “Take me in your Arms”,. “Black Water”,. “China Grove”,. “Rockin’ Down The Highway”,.”Jesus Is Just Alright”,.”Long Train Runnin”,. “Listin To The Music”, add more.
One of my favorite shows as a kid was What's Happening! The Doobie Brothers were in a 2-part episode. There's a funny fucking line in it when Rog calls the hotel to ask to speak to one of the Doobies. The clip is on KZread.
Best is Another Park, Another Sunday🎶❤
This slapped at the skating rink in '80. 🤣🤣🤣
Young man, kudos to you, you love your Nana like I loved my late Nana.********
Smoked a few Doobies at the Doobie Concerts lol
BAD COMPANY PLAYLIST: “Feel Like Makin Love” - “Bad Company” - “Shooting Star” - “Silver Blue and Gold” - “Rock and Roll Fantasy” - “Cant Get Enough” - “Ready for Love”
BOB SEGER PLAYLSIT: and the Silver Bullet Band: "Night Moves" - "Hollywood Nights" - "Shame on the Moon" - "Fire Lake" - "Against the Wind" - "Turn the Page” - "We've Got tonight" - “Still the Same” - "You'll Accomp'ny Me" - “Come to Poppa" - Old Time Rock and Roll” - “Mainstreet” - “ The Fire Down Below”
Michael is not a cowboy hat and cowboy boot kind of person🤣 he is more of a pair loafers and a cool printed shirt kind of guy. I have tickets to see the Doobie Brothers June 2022 it’s their 50th anniversary and Michael is going to be joining them because Michael came later on after the band had already had years of success and became their second lead singer. I can’t wait to see these guys again I haven’t seen them since the 80s.😎
Michael McDonald sings "I Keep Forgettin" and is fantastic -- one of the best songs he ever sang.
AMERICA- PLAYLIST: “A Horse with no Name” - “ Ventura Highway” - “ You Can Do Magic” - “Lonely People” - “ Sister Golden Hair” - “ Daisy Jane” -“Woman Tonight” - “Sandman” - “Tin Man”
That's so sweet calling your nana. Clearly you have a strong relationship.
I loved that you rang Nana ! She's going to know the Doobie bros.
Lots more Doobie Brothers for you to discover👍🏼 Also check out Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band😎
I can not listen to this song without moving. I don't know how she's not even moving her head to the beat.
Michael is the guy in the centre of that picture ! Now you MUST react to their song " Long Train Running" ! You have found my second favourite ever !
he sings at 2 tones at the same time. chipmunks+ Barry White at the same time. 1 of the best ever
This is one of my favorite songs.
This song won record and song of the year for the 1980 Grammy's.
Mike is great in concert!
They have a more recent concert in some club. Seeing them live lets you see how big and complex a band they are. Also, they have a live outdoor show that you'd likely enjoy seeing for one of their hits, like Long Train Runnin', Jesus Is Just Alright, or Black Water.
I like the fact you see the Doobies in Gator boots, but not to spoil the image, you do know they are probably Scotlands best export (apart from Scotch Whiskey and haggis) so now you MUST listen to Long Train Running by The Doobies!
React to Doobie Brothers - Long Train Runnin. Their biggest hit
You two are sooooo Beautiful ❣❣✊🏽✊🏽Thank you for representing another GOAT band 🔥🔥
I don’t have a CD player in my 2019 F250 and did not realize it for a long time 😂🤣
When your Nana answered the phone you gained a subscription!!! Enjoying your reactions but more of that if possible!!!❤️ A quick request for a song that is mind-blowing is (the live video) of God Hates a Coward by Tomahawk. Thanks and Cheers!!!
The group Ambrosia is a must listen!

Biggest Part of Me is a masterpiece of pop- if you have to start anywhere, that's SO well done.
One of my favorites songs by them. Definitely should pay attention to the words.
Love this channel. All I’m going to say is, that Cadillac has to be a convertible and have either a 8-track player or cassette player. Believe me, it is the best way to listen to Michael McDonald or the Doobie Brothers.
i was 5 years old back then, brings back so many memories.
Doobies were rockers in the early 70s, and then changed their style when Michael McDonald joined, all great music. NOW, I encourage everyone to check out one of my favorite tribute bands with a hilariously good cover / video of this song: kzread.info/dash/bejne/eKlpurqknpnLqNI.html
Great great song.
Dobie brothers, long train running and eyes of silver.
If you haven't heard Bob Seger yet now would be a good time. Songs like Against the Wind, Night Moves and many others
Welcome to real music. Much more doobies to check out. Also Creedence , grand funk, stones and the greatest the Beatles. Enjoy the ride guys!
Nana knows good tunes!! This is a huge and classic hit. The lyrics, the instruments, that voice! All put together. Enjoy! Hello to your Nana! Go back and read the lyrics (or read about them). The message, plus the music make this fire.
Best doobie song period
My teen heard his voice and knew who his voice 🙌
I've seen the Doobie brothers twice. They getting old but can still deliver a great show. 🤙🏼🔥
It's just one of those songs that makes you feel good the moment it comes on.
I swear I was listening to this song this morning. Please React to Bobby Caldwell - What you won't do for love. Songs like these are often called Blue Eyed Soul. Meaning songs that have a bit of RNB or soul in them but are made by white artists. Some Hall and Oates songs would be described as blue eyed soul as would Dusty Springfield and many other artists
Love the Doobie Brothers for a song by them that can get your blood pumped for the gym try (Dangerous) always a favorite. For a new artist I recommend (Thin Lizzy) my personal favorite by them is (Dancing in the Moonlight). It was one of the first songs that the band had started to experiment with adding jazz with there rock music.
Haha your Gran's got the plug. Hellz yes. This is one of the best songs of all time, and I don't say that... ever. lol One of the plusses of being the baby of the fam, with older parents. Got to tune in to a lot of this musical gold. You gotta get your grandma on a reaction with you guys, that would be dope. Awesome reaction, totally here for the McDonald/Doobie rabbit-hole. :)
Such a GREAT song!!!
Kenny Loggins wrote this with them. Listen to Kenny sing Conviction of the Heart. Considered to be an environmental anthem. I am a fan of Gabriel Henrique as well and think he could sing Kenny's, Michael McDonald's and Doobie Bros' and do it well. Good to see you young kids!! listening to the music of your grandparents!! We rocked!!! Many of us still do!!
I'm going to pop this in the 8 track right now!!!
I like the honest, enjoyable reaction! Two genuine people!
Just for fun, watch a live version of this! Its insane!
This song won a Grammy for "Song of the year" in 1979.
