This is definitely one of the great achievements of Diana Ankudinova. The song is deep and difficult, but more than that, it comes with a ton of cultural baggage. It took a lot of audacity and self confidence to take it on, and all of that is fully justified by the miraculous performance she created.

Удивительно, что Диана смогла исполнить эту песню в 17 лет! Я, когда она её объявила в то время, тут же нажал на паузу и дважды курил, прежде чем прослушать, - было страшно за Диану ... Это был очень смелый поступок с её стороны. И тогда она ещё только завоёвывала признание среди взрослой эстрады. Но справилась она просто Великолепно!

Да, лошади несущиеся галопом символ пролетающих лет жизни. В молодости мы упиваемся восторгом скачек и подгоняем их. Быстрее!! Ещё быстрее!! Но потом.. всё хочешь хотя бы немного их бег притормозить.. Диана волшебница. Я смотрел её первое интервью на телевидении в 6 лет ещё. Тогда в детском коллективе она выступала в ансамбле " Малинки" с другой девочкой с таким же именем Диана. И на вопрос ведущий как девочки справляются с волнением на сцене Диана ответила: - я ухожу в песню. Ребёнок в 6 лет! уходит из этого мира в другой.. Хотя наверное именно в этом возрасте мы и способны погружаться в мир сказок, песен с головой, а потом теряем с возрастом эту способность. А вот Диана похоже сохранила и развила даже эту способность погружаться в мир песни. Может именно поэтому её исполнение увлекает за собой в этот мир и её слушателей.. 😊

You got right that the horses and the sled are a metaphor for "going through life". In order to fully get the meaning of the song you should know a few things about Vysotsky's life too, this can be considered his swan song since sadly he died very young because of alcohol and other abuses. He knew that the final destination was coming closer and closer and he wanted to enjoy more of the voyage so he was shouting to his horses to slow down but at the same time he spurned them to go faster with his reckless life choices. It is indeed a very deep somber song that stands as a warning to any one so treat your horses with respect, give them plenty of rest and maybe you will enjoy the trip for a longer period of time. As for Diana she aced that, an extraordinary performance definitely one of her best ever, no matter what anyone says she was born to be able to sing Vysotsky's songs she has done two so far and both of them are 11/10.

One of my favourite songs by Diana. - I read the horses and sled as entirely symbolic or metaphoric - not so much for life, but of a necessary contemplation of the inevitably of death, evocative of the feeling that comes of anticipating the experience of dying. The horses stand for our raw energies, our natural desires, our need for action - and even our vices, our errors, our sins and our addictions. Our wIlder selves, our less controlled parts - very like the horses we refer to as we say in the aphorism in English 'Hold your horses!' These are those horses. The metaphoric nature of the beasts (or brother beast) is confirmed by the poet/songwriter when he gets close to a personal confession - that is, if the horses aren't slowed: 'I won't get time to finish my song.' The song is real art, fabulous, once upon a time, imagist, telling a story of profound depth, a parable that needs maturity and interpretation to understand. It is most brave, so Russian, intimate, and emotionally personal - for sadly, Vysotsky died young. Very much the point of view of those left behind by war - the old, the women and children. So it is most appropriate for a young woman to sing it. I feel for the knowing child - the boy Vysotsky must have been when the German War came upon Russia, too young, but watching it all, and realizing the grief, the sacrifice, the loss of fathers, uncles, neighbours and brothers....all the while aware of the degradation on farms unworked, the neglect of buildings, the lack of repair to village or town life that the cataclysm caused.

"Wow" is right! The interpretation I have seen most often is "Ornery Horses." She is a wonder with ballads, and she does them in no less than 7 languages. "Dernier Danse" is a fine example in French, "Helwe Ya Baladi" is another, in Arabic. The one she has become most well known for in the West is her take on Elvis Presley's "Can't Help Falling In Love." Both the French and Arab speakers who reacted to those songs say her accent is really cute. Perhaps it's her age. She is 18 in the Presley song, but younger in the others. Her live performances at the ages of 14-15 are, in my opinion, some of the most original and striking. Thank you for covering this wonderful tune.

Певцом-то точно Владимир Семёнович не был, он исполнял только свои песни, ну то есть он был бардом. Высоцкий был профессиональным и очень талантливым актёром театра и , как минимум, талантливым ( а возможно и гениальным) поэтом.

(mon interprétation) Une homme est entrain de mourir. Il le sait (je suis foutu). Il est à la limite entre la vie et la mort (la course le long de la falaise). Il ne veut pas mourir, il veut encore du temps. Mais le temps ne l'écoute pas (les chevaux) et son coeur continue de battre le rapprochant toujours plus de la mort (le fouet qui bat la mesure). Il veut ralentir le temps (faire boire les chevaux pour qu'ils s'arrête un peu), mais le temps n'écoute pas(ils sont obstiné). Il veut finir un dernier couple (la vie est une musique dont chaque couplet est une période.Il y a 4 couplets dans une chanson, comme pour la vie. Enfant, adolescents, adulte, vieux). Il n'a pas vue le temps passé mais maintenant qu'il lui reste quelques secondes et que sa vie lui échappe, il comprend combien un simple couplet de plus est important. C'est sans doute pour cela qu'on a dit à Diana qu'elle ne pourrait pas la chanter car pas assez mature. C'est quand on est vieux et qu'on s'approche du dernier couplet qu'on comprend combien ils sont précieux. Diana l'à portant comprise et interpréter avec une tel émotion😢. Каждая ее песня это очень сильный и глубокий по содержанию спектакль. Я не знаю других певцов, которые так бы проживали каждую песню. Я живу уже очень давно(74) и никогда не встречала таких певиц и певцов. Это не просто певческий, но и мощный артистический талант, а может даже больше. Светлой тебе дороги девочке пусть у нее на пути встречаются только хорошие люди. Она сама как лучик света, светит нам в дороге.
