this is the first comedy cd i ever bought. my cousin had the special on vhs (hey amanda!) when we were kids, like 16 or 17 years old. this is still my favorite comedy album of all time.

Denis Leary once told a story of the time he and his wife had a meeting with his young son's school because the boy had been singing an obscene song. The school official was too embarrassed to say the words, so she wrote it down and asked if the parents knew the song. Denis said, "Know it? I wrote it!"

Memories of me and my daughter singing this together while I played the guitar. I forwarded this reaction to her. It’s “our” song. 🤣🤣🤣

I saw Denis Leary live in 90's and he's been a favorite of mine even before that. His stand up is hilarious.

Fun Fact: Louis Ck said on and Opie and Anthony apperance that Leary stole this asshole bit from him, and then years later paid CK a bunch of money to make movie. Louis said he probably thinks it was to apologize for taking his bit, and then getting super famous from it.

I remember Dennis Leary was a pretty big comedian back when MTV first came out and in between the music videos they would sometimes show short videos of him. You should definitely watch some of his standup material. He's a really angry, truly funny guy.

I have put heard that one in years. 😂 I remember when it came out and everyone thought it was hilarious. My word, it still is! You should see the Christmas movie he did called “The Ref.” I cry every time I see it. “Slipper socks-medium!” Denis has a prolific comedy background, tons of TV and movie credits. What a guy!

Denis does a bit in his standup where he gets called by his kids teacher. She asks him if he's heard this 'asshole' song his kid has been singing and he says, "Heard it? I wrote it!"

If you want another amazing song then absolutely do "Three Little Pigs" by Green Jelly. Not only is it a hilarious video (their original video) but the song genuinely rocks! There's a reason why it was a huge hit on MTV. The band is essentially Tool before they were tool...with lots of other people contributing to the song! Bassist legend Les Claypool was a guest voice as one of the pigs, so was comedian Pauly Shore. (You can trust my judgment since I have recommended this song by Denis Leary too!)

One of the funniest things about this song is Denis Leary, a couple of years after the fact, was telling the story about how his 5 year old son somehow heard it or saw his dad singing it on TV or something, and Leary said that one day he got a call from his son's kindegarten teacher because his son was running around the classroom singing "A! S-S! H-O! L-E!" and wouldn't stop and the kid didn't even know what word he was spelling. lol

My friends in high-school declared this my theme song, I tried my best to live up to it.
