@@janetownley of course they didn't. What they did do with analog recording technology was called layering. The master Tape had many tracks and the Artist can add to that by doubling or more of voice or instrument and also add effects from the master board but the end result was truer to the actual voice and instrument.

Everyone that said go listen to "Feel for You" is correct. It's one of her all time best recordings. She was another favorite in the Discos in the 70's. We had the best music.

Chaka Khan has such a powerful voice with great range. She's my favorite female singer and has been for many years.

I love watching your videos on discovering artists and songs from my generation. I admit I don't care for many current songs out there today, except for a few artists, but every generation has the songs that helped shape it. Chaka Khan was one of the greats, and I enjoyed hitting the clubs with her music. Music can bring us all together! Great job guys!

Going clubbing in my early 20s in the 80s! When Chaka songs would be played we ran to the dance floor! Such fun dance music! Plus an inspirational woman.

This song was on a film called 'Breakin' that I grew up watching. They also made a second film called 'Breakin 2: Electric Boogaloo'. Both soundtracks are awesome!

Hell, I'm Every Woman is so Fire, Whitney covered it for the Waiting to Exhale soundtrack and made the video while pregnant ( Chaka, TLC, I think Gladys Knight - wall to wall Black Female Legends making cameos in that one)

Exactly, when music was a listening experience only-. the way it should be! Couldn’t sell a song with choreography, video, nasty lyrics, or personal scandal. Back when folks actually studied, played, and sang Music. We had the attention-spans to put on a pair of headphones and listen to an album from beginning to end, imagine that, Kids of today!

This is my ultimate favorite song. If it comes on and I'm in the bathroom I guarantee you I'll be dancing. If it comes on in the church I'll be dancing down the aisle. If it comes on in the mall I'll be dancing in the mall. Can't help it.

Chaka K headed a band known as RUFUS in Chicagoland. She/they played at our Catholic HS in the 1970s. They blew EVERYBODY away,. They all were grounded, easy going and professional from the word go. Even back then, it was apparent that Chaka K was special and possessed that 'it factor'.

"Better late than never".Wise words my friend.I got this on 12" vinyl the week it came out.A week later I was at a club and the DJ dropped this.The place erupted.She's coming here to the UK this Summer,and I don't care if I have to sell a kidney for a ticket,I'm going.
