Talking about the attendance on july 19, 1988 he played a concert in Berlin at the wall before it was torn down. 160,000+ people were at that concert. It's the 7th highest attendance ever recorded and he played it for FREE. It was in East Berlin and the concert was originally offered to the Rolling Stones but they refused. That concert is also recognized as part of what started the wall being torn down in Berlin

He is New Jersey. My home state. This man just turned 72 and still tours. Did one man show on Broadway and just released a new album earlier this year. Bruce is da bomb. THE BOSS! Has played with the E Street Band for almost 50 years!!! Concert are in stadiums because there are so many fans. Huge screens in all directions for everyone to see. Concerts were reasonably price back in the day but with digital records now touring is their only source of income so it’s expensive now. Save up. It’s worth it. The redhead in the band is his wife. Ya’ll are so cute: “tickets sold out as soon as they were posted.” No, we had to stand in line overnight just to get nosebleed seats. In Cleveland, they would announce the ticket sales the day before and people would drive straight to the stadium to camp out.

I used to live in Cleveland, and believe me, it was much worse in L.A. I was tenth in line at the Ticketmaster for Van Halen and BTO at the Forum, and my seat was halfway back and four rows down from the ceiling. Once all the movie people, TV people, radio people, press people, sports people, corporate people, financial people, political people and every other sort of privileged nadsack got their FREE front-of-the-house tickets, the rest of us had to make do with whatever was left.

One of my favorite concerts I ever went to was Bruce Springsteen (the Born in The USA tour at the stadium where the Cleveland Browns used to play). He had that energy the whole time, and at times the whole band would move with him.... THE WHOLE BAND AT ONCE. He was personal, told us stories, told us jokes, told us BS that led to a song, etc. Then after about four hours, he says they aren't ready to call it a night yet, and he plays oldies but goodies... and then some of his older hits like this one... over 8 hours later (or longer) he finally agrees to let us go home.. Yes, that's how HE put it. "Ok, I know your probably sick of me by now, so I'm going to let you all go home now!" then plays Born To Run, LMAO.

I've been to half a dozen Bruce shows, he's one my favourite live acts. One time he performed for 4,5 hours and would've continued but the stadium had to close the lights at midnight. And what a band, they can play anything if Bruce just winks at them. Born to Run, great song. I've got the lyrics printed on a shirt, I can relate. After the show I was napping at his hotel on an antique sofa waiting for autographs, like a tramp. Actually not quite since the staff knew me and offered hot chocolate in wee hours. Hungry Heart, Glory Days, Dancing in the Dark, Because the Night... so many bangers to suggest.

If you see something that looks like a star And it's shooting up out of the ground And your head is spinning from a loud guitar Or something similar as this Don't worry too much it will happen to you We were children once playing with toys But the sound that you're hearing is only the sound of the low spark of high heeled boys. @@echopryme I agree completely, but he usually does a different setlist every night. Some of the same songs but a lot change. Especially if he's playing multiple nights at the same place. And he'll take audience requests too! The "River" tour was a little different because in the USA he played the full double album every night, but the norm is a constantly changing setlist. That's why people follow the tour and see as many shows as they can. No two are the same.

@t c AWWWW DAAAAMN! 😎 I have a couple stories like that too, though. Like the time that my dad, who played backstage rhythm guitar (back in the day, bands had a bunch of nameless, faceless, people playing behind the curtains to make the concert sound bigger and more like the album. My dad was one of those guys), and introduced me to some guy when I was about 6 or 7. He was ALL THRILLED to introduce me, and was smiling his ass off about it. I shook hands politely, but I was bored and wanted to go play with my Star Wars figures. I barely reacted and after being introduced i looked up at Dad and said, "Can I go play Star Wars now?" The guy I was introduced to laughed and Dad looked like I'd just shit my pants in front of the President. I was allowed to go off and play with my toys without further discussion. I kinda always remembered the name of the guy, but it wouldn't be until my teenage years that it would begin to haunt me... "Jason, this is Eric Clapton!" 😵

I was sitting all the way in the back of the Los Angeles Coliseum when Bruce Springsteen performed there, September 21, 1988, along with Sting and Peter Gabriel and Tracy Chapman and Youssou D'Nour, the Human Rights Now Tour. There were 68,000 people there. And he was so darn good that we felt that he was singing right to us. He filled the whole stadium. So much energy. Such a phenomenon. Never forgot that concert, with the Los Angeles skyline all lit up in the distance, which we could also see from high up where we were sitting. Magic night. And I see comments below praising the sax player, Clarence Clemons. They were an amazing team, an amazing band.

One of the greatest feelings to experience. Back in the day, a 4 hour concert was standard for him and the band. It was not unheard of for them to play for 5 hours. I found an old ticket from a show in 1985 at the Brendan Byrne Arena (currently Meadowlands Arena, NJ) . It was 25.00.
