Prince was also a music activist. He lobbied for artists to own the music they created. He played twenty-seven instruments and produced all of his own music. He wrote, played, sang, recorded, and produced his first album when he was only 20 years old. He was an icon and set trends like "text speech" with songs like "I Would Die 4 U" and lots more. I cried the day he died.

I can't tell you how good it makes me feel watching you react to Prince. Prince is the reason I started paying attention to music when I was 11 years old back in 1982 and I heard a friend's older sister playing the 1999 album. I was hooked. It opened my eyes and ears and shaped my future love of music. Watching you listen for the first time brought a tear to my eyes. Thank you.

After watching both, I smashed the like buttons, hit subscribe, and rang that notification bell. You young men were so respectful with Dolly, and you just seem to be such genuinely nice guys. Someone has probably already mentioned this, but to really understand the emotion behind this video (which is actually a clip from the movie), you have to watch the movie to see what led up to this performance. The song, in and of itself, is phenomenal. When you see it in context, it's much more powerful. I first saw the movie (when it came out in 1984) at the theater on a Navy base. When this part played - not a dry eye in the house.

Hey guys, I just found your channel and I really love watching you guys listen to hit songs from the past. As an old timer from Oklahoma, I was around when many of these songs and artists made their way up the Top 40 charts. Since I was raised in an ultra conservative town where folks didn't accept people who looked like Prince, I was taught not to like Prince. Thank God that later in life I learned the truth - you can't judge people or their talent on the basis of skin color, religion, race, or their dress code! Prince was an unbelievably-gifted vocalist, guitarist, and musician. I don't know of a guitarist active today that can keep up with Prince. He was also an accomplished pianist/keyboardist, drummer, bassist and saxophonist. He played ALL instruments on his first two albums, "For You" and "Prince". Purple Rain became one of my favorite songs of all time. I hope you guys like it too ,and keep up the great job you are doing on your channel.

I miss Prince being on this earth so much. I've seen amazing groups, like Pink Floyd, and timeless artists, like Barbara Streisand, but a Prince concert is #1 on my list of concerts I've been to. He was the MOST talented artist of my lifetime, no one else even comes close. He wrote the songs, played the instruments, sang, and could move around a stage like no one else. If you haven't yet, check out a Prince bio. He made his first album alone -- played every single instrument. The man was not of this earth. He was absolute genius.

From day one, he wrote, sang, played every instrument, arranged and produced his own music. All at just 17 years old. As others have said, watch the movie because it was semi-autobiographical and amazing. Then, watch the documentary Purple Reign to learn more about the rest of his life. His vault of unreleased music (his vault) is said to contain enough songs to be able to release an album a year for the next 100 years. Just mind blowing. Also, he was one of the SEXIEST men alive❣️

I finally got the chance, after 3 decades, to be able to see Prince live. It was the most anticipated concert of my life. And he DELIVERED. He came out and did a 7 minute guitar solo intro to Purple Rain. My husband’s jaw dropped. I think he had been distracted by the glam, and the weird name change, to properly realize that Prince was the GOAT. Prince played for hours that night. Several encores. The lights came on, people headed to the hallways to leave, and then we all heard the opening notes of Cream. Everybody ran back in, and he played for a huge dance party for I don’t know how long. Best. Concert. I’ve. Ever. Seen.
