Such a great R&B soul singer songwriter from the 60's-80's. "Ain't No Sunshine" & "Lean On Me" are his 2 most famous songs but he had some other hits such as "Grandma's Hands", "Use Me", "Lovely Day", "Just The Two Of Us" etc. Sadly we lost him recently in 2020.

Just the Two Of Us is technically a Grover Washington Jr. song sung by Withers.

YES YES YES...Dont forget "Who Is He?"
Shon, do you have any formal training in music? I’m asking because, I watch a lot of reaction videos, and your understanding, appreciation, and breakdown of these songs, surpasses ALL others by FAR! And, the fact that you do it all with such charisma, and joy, REALLY sets you apart from the others! God Bless You my friend…

Well said and you couldn't be any more accurate. I think he's learned a lot just from having such an open mind to all genres of music. He's done a lot of videos and I've seen the growth for sure. That's one of the joys of watching Shon. He's like a sponge for music knowledge. It's great to see.

I concur
Bill was the real deal. He was a blue collar steel worker, and you can hear the depth and grit of experience in his music. He's got alot of recognizable hits too. He was an obstinate man who refused to compromise his music for the corporate execs, and his stuff stands the test of time. Appreciate his music more and more as I get older.
Most authentic artist I’ve ever heard. Still Bill. RIP ❤
Love the song and Bill...The Drummer is just too cool
I grew up listening to Bill Withers, he was one of my mother's favorite artists. He has the cleanest tone to his vocals and yet you can still hear that raspy soulfulness in his delivery as well...this is ear candy, bro. (👂🍬) Here's another suggestion, if interested. *"Bill Withers - Just The Two Of Us" (by the channel: Bill Withers)* And you are correct this is the same artist that sang "Lean on Me" that was very astute of you. I always enjoy your reactions and commentary, Shon. Thanks for sharing.
He is one of my all time favorites. Check out his 'use me'...'Grandma's Hands'...'Lovely Day'. This man is incredible.
Fun fact: that repeated "I know I know" section was only intended to be a "placeholder" until he'd written some words for that middle 8, but when he first played the demo, the producer liked it and suggested he leave it as was. What a perfect little song it is, just two minutes in the studio take. If you ever get a chance, I urge you to watch Still Bill, a documentary that came out towards the end of his life, maybe about ten years ago. It's lovingly made, and he comes across as the most beautiful human being, one many of us would love to have been our father or grandfather. And I'll mention one other song, to go with the many excellent suggestions others have made: You Just Can't Smile It Away, from one of his later albums. Such a great songwriter.
Bill Withers one of my favs back on the day.
Essential Bill Withers: The Live at Carnegie Hall concert, though it's audio only, is still one of the greatest albums in history: "Grandma's Hands," "Hope She'll Be Happier," "Use Me," and "I Can't Write Left-Handed." Long tracks with him speaking and audience interaction. He IS "country," by the way, from West Virginia. Grew up in the church and brings that gospel sound into "secular" music. You're right, the way he "pronounces" his words and his riffs are totally unique and soul-stealing.
Definitely need to hear "Use Me" and "Grandma's Hands"
Those are official "soul bruthas". Dudes sitting back in the corner playing guitar...smooth.
Loooove Bill Withers! As always my friend, GREAT reaction!
I had never seen this live version of the song. He has such a magical voice and had so many hits. This was a great reaction
He was a fantastic singer. Imagine if you were a young teenager in 1971 when this song came out: It came on the radio several times a day and we'd all stop & sing along. Times were tough in America in many ways, but our rock, pop and soul music was the best. Ever.
Great song, great singer. This has been covered by a bunch of people, but that's only because it's so great.
Strong tune. An authentic reaction to an authentic song. Thank you.
My dude!!! Bill Withers is a legend!! Now... trust me on this... you GOTTA check out Use Me. One of the most slept on classics of all time.

Love your reactions! I sang this song to my son when he was a baby, lullaby worked every time to get him back to sleep. This beautiful song helps heal my heart with each listen, makes me think of my mom, she died not long before my son was born ❤❤❤
Another great in this genre is AL Green.

As a little white girl growing up in 70s...music playing in my house and car. Love his voice, my favorites are The the Two of us, and Lovely Days,
You must check out The Jackson 5 cover of this. Michael Jackson as a young boy blows it out the water! Great reactions buddy!!!
He sings "Just The Two Of Us" on Grover Washington Jr.'s saxophone jazz album "Winelight".
"Use Me" is also amazing.
Yep, Shon.. he did "Lean on me"... this one is fantastic in particular, b/c LIVE... love Bill! Look up his background/history.. super interesting... (also, as mentioned by others "Use Me" is a favorite of mine...)
Baby boy...the more I watch you the more I know you have been here before! A plus reaction!
They key to a great artist/song is always leave ya wanting more!
One of my favorites, thank you!
He's pretty good on that guitar!
Brilliant song, covered so many times. My favourite cover was by Lighthouse Family in 1999. Very smooth with a killer bass line added.
Yes, he’s that Bill Withers of Lean On Me fame. One of his other big hits was used in a commercial a few years ago, Lovely Day, so when you hear it, you may find it’s familiar. He was such a talented vocalist.
I have always loved this song! One evening I was at a pub with a friend. I stopped mid sentence and thought “is that what I think it is?!” So I listened for a couple of seconds…..it was a local artist singing this to a reggae beat!! I about lost my mind!! Never got the guy’s name, which really sucks!!
Smooth
Love this one!
Lovely Day. Another good one to check out. 😊
Gotta love Bill Withers. Amazing dude - singer songwriter. Amazing catalog. I like you too 😉 Put a shirt on 🤪🤪😀

Nephew you must react to "Grandma's hands" by Bill Withers. 🖤🖤🖤
Grandma’s hands, Lovely day , just the two of us, who is he ? (and what is he to you?) Bill was mega talented… check those tracks out you won’t be disappointed. I love the journey you’re going on and all the great content you’ve been bringing L. ❤️ ☮️
Grandmas Hands is a personal favorite
One of the great 2 minute songs, can't say the greatest, because Hank Sr. wrote 200 of them.
We’re on the road
He gave us just a taste ....not fair
How to explain it - the video you reacted to is the second identical one posted on KZread. I forget why the first one was removed, but it had many millions of votes and a cult following for the comments, many of which were as entertaining as the song - I can't repeat any word for word, but the references to the drummer being high as a kite and possibly knowing where 'she' had gone, were hilarious and developed a life of their own. When this video was reposted there were many references to the original version, but through time they have slipped from view, and newcomers will be unaware of the story.
song always makes me thing of Notting Hill
Every time my boyfriend drives me to the airport, he sings this song to me.
OINGO BOINGO!!
'use me' and 'lovely day' would also be good reactions.
Gotta listen to "Use Me." Man, that song goes hard.
Silksonic watched this about a million times
Oh ..no...no...no..you gotta be in real pain .. this artist makes you feel the REAL! I’m a white lady ...old...but I felt his sadness in his vibe first time I heard song as little girl.. my daddy was like,” why you crying. What.” I was just a little girl,, I’m like , “I got some then in my eye”
Love this song, I know, I know, I know……
My karaoke song dude! Great for warming the vocal chords.
I love Bill Withers. He is pure heart and soul. If you wanna hear a beautiful voice and song, try Melba Moore "Lean On Me." It is NOT the Bill Withers song. It's a whole different song😊
Shon you should listen to Grandmas Hands. You really would love it and you won't regret it.
If you love Mr Withers' Lean on Me, try the cover of it by Club Nouveau.
GREAT Reaction! How about some FUNK? Grand Funk Railroad "We're an American Band"!
Use Me is a great one
Once again nice reaction to a beauty. Is your hat on upside-down? 😊 Starship Trooper by Yes for the harmonies. 🙏🍁
Great song. You still need to do Zager and Evans- In the Year 2525
❤❤❤
Check out the song Grandma's hands
I know you are a fan of the old school rock´n´roll with some nice guitar solos, so check out "Danger Zone" by Kenny Loggins!
Want to try something different, try Bridge City Sinners-Deperted, or older maybe Andrew sisters and danny kaye-Civilization, and in country a classic Garth Brooks the Dance.
My favorite Bill song is I'M HER DADDY.
Listen to Zack Wilde version of this song you will enjoy it as well if not more
Shon.....please listen to Otis Redding's Sitting on The Dock of the Bay AND. Marvin Gaye's What's Goin On! They WILL get you invited back to the bbq!!!

Hello Sean please react to Me and Mrs Jones by Billy Paul .. a great song from the 70s
I'd love to see you check out Hey Steve - "F#@k A Bomb" I only recently found your channel. Love what you're doing. I have a list of amazing (in my opinion) songs that don't seem to have any reactions. I'm hooked, you are great. Check out Qiet - Dionysian Dream also. I think you'll dig it.
We used to lovingly call this the "Whino" song. : )
This song “Ain’t No Sunshine” was originally written and recorded by Charles Manson during the late summer of 1968 at the Brother Records studio at Brian Wilson’s home in Hollywood CA. So if you’re wondering if this song was STOLEN from Charles Manson, you would therefore be 100% correct. And, by the way, a lot of other popular songs were STOLEN from Manson. But, “THEY” will never ever disclose that little tidbit of TRUTH.
Oh man. This is nice but you are missing the beautiful strings in the original.
Use me
You're off
Stfu it's a classic
