I just love it when the younger generation shows a huge smile with the first few words of their songs. The Brothers Gibb ...... Professionally known as The Bee Gees. Maurice (on the right - pronounced Morris - balding hair) passed away in 2003. While going into surgery, he had a heart attack caused by restricted blood flow because of his twisted intestines. (I heard Barry say this in another video.) They're still baffled as to why the operation was performed. I feel Maurice should had been featured, as the lead singer, on at least one of their songs, on each album. Robin (on the left - long hair ) passed away in 2012. During an operation they discovered cancer. Even though Barry was the lead singer, they complimented each other with their voices. The youngest of the brothers, Andy, who had his own successful career, died of inflammation of the muscle surrounding the heart. He passed away in 1988, at the age of 30. He and Barry could had passed as twins, even though he was 12 yrs younger than Barry. Barry (in the middle) said, "I am the last man standing." Barry is the eldest of the brothers. He will be 75 years old September 1, 2021, which is also the date he and his wife Linda will celebrate their 51st wedding anniversary. They have 5 adult children, and 7 grandchildren. The Bee Gees have sold over 220 million records worldwide, and by now probaby more. They were also writers for other musical artists. Barry just completed a new project called 'Greenfields: The Gibb Brothers' Songbook.' On a side note, their sister, Lesley is the first born. She was 76 in January, 2021. She lives a quiet life with her family. You will like: Two Much Heaven ---- You Win Again --- Staying Alive ---- Night Fever --- Emotion (Samantha Sang sings this, and they are the background singers. Very pretty.) OH! They were good friends with Michael Jackson.

This song is a showcase of their harmonies. This is not just Barry singing. Most of the song is the sound of Robin and Barry singing harmony, and the chorus then adds Maurice. Many mistake this sound for Barry's alone but that is wrong. I think it is important to get the idea of Barry is the lead singer turned down, because it was only in the periode from 1975 to 1979 where he was more in the front due to the Falsetto. In their 18 other studio albums the leads were split between Robin and Barry with 1 or 2 songs on the albums by Maurice. On some songs they even split the lead like on "I.ve Gotta Get A Message To You" and "For Whom The Bells Toll". On one song from 1973 called "Elisa" all 3 brothers had a verse. I think that is the only song where this is the case. Someone correct me if I am wrong.

Barry sang lead on Too Much Heaven. The chorus was harmonies of all three. In their early songs, mid to late 60s Robin sang lead on almost all the songs. I Started A Joke, Massachusetts, and I Can't See Nobody. In my opinions he had a better voice. I always thought that it was Barry's look, more than his voice which put him in the forefront, in the 70s. Just my opinion.

Maurice was actually doing as much harmony as Robin. He did all lower register and Robin two notes down or up from lead melody. Robin did a lot of co-singing with Barry. Watch their concerts to see Robin taking lead along with Barry in much of music. Barry said they wld all participate throughout songs. Barry tries to mention that frequently. Maurice contributed in a big way technically on recordings. His.piano was always showcased in performing and also bass guitar. Let us remember they are self-taught musicians and don't read or write a lick of instrumental music. ALL BY EAR. THEY ARE BRILLIANT SONGWRITERS. Just ask mega performers about production and written songs they contributed to their careers, B. Streisand ( Guilty, a whole album of songs), Dione Warwick, Dolly Parton, K. Roger's, Celine D. to mention a few. I am a big fan of bio info as well bc they are remarkable men as well as performers . Love their sense of humor. Wish I had hung around w them, both musically and personally, writing through performing. What an experience to have. Maybe in next life.

It's not important to get the idea of Barry as lead singer turned down, when he overall sang lead most of the time throughout their career. On their early albums, Robin sang lead more than later on, but he never sang lead most of the time.

The Bee Gees song Nights on Broadway is the song the Bee Gees discovered their Falsettas. The Producer asked if they could scream or do something that sounds exciting. The Bee Gees kept harmonizing higher and higher. They discovered they all had the falsettas and that Barry could do it the longest.

Just a side note; Robin and Barrys voices sound like one. If Barry is sing Robin is singing visa versa

Great to see a young man appreciating classic slow soul music from back in the day. From the 70s to the 80s, we had smooth slow songs like this come out every other week, and this one was up there! Check out KZ Tandingan singing Rolling in the Deep on Singer 2018 next. I just discovered this mind blowing talent, who's guaranteed to stun you and your subscribers!

If you want to hear something from the Bee Gees that is a bit different please check out "for whom the bell tolls' pick the live version under the bridge in New York, I believe that's where it is. Anyway, you love it and see what I mean about a little bit different. Thanks!

Love your reactions! They held the all time album sales until Michael Jackson's Thriller. They now hold the 7th all time sales record. They wrote all of their material in the studio and recorded on the same day.Their demise as a group happened when a Chicago radio DJ filled a stadium with people who wanted them to go away. They were suppose to bring a Bee Bees album to blow up, but it was later found out that almost every record was by a black artist. A typical white privilege action! Black Lives have mattered always! Thanks for your channel!

Robin, Massachusetts and I started a joke, especially Melbourne concert 1989 I think. Maurice, Closer than close and Man in the middle. Maurice preferred to be in the background as he played many instruments and like producing. Robin was the main voice in the late 60s before Barry took over the 70s sound.

Barry's vocal range & ability to hit just the right tonal range to blend all their voices together is what made the group so great for so long. They all sang beautifully individually, every one of them, but only with Barry, were they making long lasting, timeless hits, that everyone loved.
