When I find someone who hasn’t heard Band-Maid before I show them Dice. If they don’t like Dice they won’t like Band-maid, but if they do they’re going to love Band-Maid. I may have to use Rin’ne in the future. Dice is almost tame by comparison. Band-maid is truly the best hard rock band to come along in decades. I love this band.

JIMMY PAGE OF ( LED ZEPPELIN ) loves this band. He met the group back stage and asked if he could have his picture taken with the drummer( AKANE ) she thought it was a dream ( it was not ) a rock legend like that giving props to the girls, how awesome is that.Jimmy Page( LED ZEPPELIN) just after seeing the band play in Tokyo in 2016. He complimented Akane. Akane was star struck. She later said Mr Jimmy Page-san offered her much encouragement and she promised to do her best. These girls are flat out ROCK STARS. SHRED ON LADIES... KANAMI(Lead Guitar ) channeling her inner EDDIE VAN HALEN. AKANE (DRUMS )channeling her inner JONH BONHAM. MISA ( BASS ) well just being MISA. MIKU(GUITAR ) channeling her inner rock star.
MISA! MISA! MISA! In an era where Western Rock is in decline and there are fewer and fewer new bands taking up the mantle without going pop or moving over to the dark side, Band Maid is holding the line in solid Guitar Rock and showing the Boys how its done! Dark side = commercial rock. Don't get me wrong, nothing wrong with songs that sell, but there is a distinct difference between a group that loves what they do, and those that craft strictly for market appeal. I call it the Hip Hop Business Model. (that's also what has happened to the Metal industry over the last decade) Still want that ticket?

@@LouieGrandie Do not confuse Band Maid with Babymetal. Two completely different groups and two completely different ethos. My comments here are regarding Band Maid. That said, I have no problem with the Babymetal history or their current iteration. They are unique within the system and worked very hard to get there. A bright light, if you will, in that darkness. But to each their own.

Thank you for watching Band-Maid (new sub). When I first discovered them, I was lead to them from Babymetal. I was totally blown away, this is the best hard rocking band that I've heard in over 30 years. I had given up on rock a while back (with a few exceptions), but these ladies turned that around. I now listen to their music every day. I also found that discovering Band-Maid and Babymetal opened a whole floodgate of Japanese rock/metal that was refreshingly innovative and original (as much as that can happen). It seems like the Japanese music scene is willing to try just about anything and see what happens (Ladybaby is a great example lol) and some times it just clicks, like Band-Maid. They're like the Beatles, Cream, Zep - without each member it probably would have failed.

Welcome aboard, Mr Roll. You are embarking on (along with many others) an awesome hard-rock journey with 5 incredible women. Here's my intro blurb for those who may be new to Band-Maid: BAND-MAID’s songs and sound beat with the heart and soul of rock n’ rollers. But you’ll also hear heavy influences of Punky-Funk-Metal-Pop, with a nice touch of Grunge, sometimes all within the same song! Their Composition, Execution, Consistency (over 90 songs with a new album, “Conqueror”, dropping Dec ‘19.), Uniqueness, Charisma, Charm and, oh yeah, Cuteness factor (IMHO) position them as becoming the hard rock Beatles of our time! In other words, they’re destine for mega-stardom. Each member's personalities are super interesting and their musicianship among the best. Their writing, arrangements and overall sound, especially guitar tones and drums, are kick-ass! Having seen them LIVE, I can honestly say their performance, sound and stage appearance is off the rails spectacular. Band-Maid is the only band in decades where I love nearly EVERY song they’ve done. I have over 50 favorites! "Thrill" is a great place to start: kzread.info/dash/bejne/h5inmclsfZCanLQ.html Their newer songs drive even more - Rin’ne, Moratorium, Domination, Clang, Dice, Spirit, Turn Me On, Fate, Play, Hide-And-Seek, Secret My Lips, Puzzle, Glory, Choose Me, and on and on. But don’t miss out on their powerful, beautifully written slower tunes like Daydreaming, Anemone, Endless Story and Smile... or more punky like Don’t Let Me Down and Screaming… or funky like Bubble… or bluesy rock like The Dragon Cries… or poppy like Start Over… or cultural like the Band-Maiko series! And many are represented with over 20 well produced music videos. kzread.info Most performances should be experienced from their LIVE concerts such as ZEPP 2018, Shinkiba Studio Coast 2017 and some of the better 2019 tour Fan vids. Here’s two of what it’s like to see Band-Maid LIVE at super intimate venues. The first taken by Vladimir Chupin in Hamburg: kzread.info/dash/bejne/kZNl1spwk9fNfdI.html and the second taken by JT Dayo in LA: kzread.info/dash/bejne/Zql9u6SkcdzIc6w.html If you like Band-Maid, make sure to support them by purchasing some concert tickets, CD, DVD/BR & Merch, etc. bandmaid.tokyo Like most Band-Maid songs, I like them from the get-go but really start to appreciate them after more hearings and seeing their LIVE videos. I'll go back and see an older song like YOLO, Order, Shake That, Freezer, Real Existence, Non Fiction Days, Alone, etc. and realize there's no band that can consistently construct and play like Band-Maid. For fun, check out an awesome, little known "Mega Band-Maid Mix" by DJ Ray of some of their earlier stuff: facebook.com/djrayboston/videos/1004709499579009 Band-Maid members are: (Ages are best est.). Saiki Atsumi “Ice Queen" - Lead vocals, arrangements, melodies and High Priestess mediator between the Gods (Band Members) and the masters and princesses (Fans). At 25 and the youngest, “Sensei” (Leader) as Miku calls her, has the last word on many musical decisions. High-heels or sneakers, Sai-chan’s smile melts away the persona. Her charisma, performance and voice focus the experience. Miku Kobato "Small Pigeon" - Rhythm guitar, vocals, lyricist and oldest at 28. “Koba”, as Saiki calls her, is the Band founder and a firecracker MC & PR SpokesPigeon, po! Her “Magic Spell Time” charm and energy ignite the room. Kurrupo! No, no, no… KURRUPO!! Kanami Tono “Princess” - Lead guitar, keyboards, 27 years old, is a prolific writer of most Band-Maid material. Kanami (translates “Song Wave”) is a possessed riff-slayer who’s so damn adorable it hurts. The only thing you want from Mincho is more! Akane Hirose "Gorilla" - Drums, 27 years old, band energizer & co-clown with MISA. Achi’s talents include massive consumption of noodles and bananas, of course, (even during performance!) while revolutionizing rock drumming with relentless drive, dynamics and the kick. This “DrumRilla” is the Party! MISA "Assassin" - Bass, 28 years old. A sullen, barefoot, dark spirit driving her 5-string bottom-end to hell and back, off-stage MISA is the band’s goofball ballerina. The Mysterious One literally kills it… every note.. uniting Band-Maid’s world-class rhythm section. A slug of JB, a slight grin, and let the slappin’ begin… MISA! MISA! MISA!

Band-Maid is the real deal and are carrying the hard rock flag since 2013. They have a huge, great catalog to go through. Pick a track, you can't really go wrong. Live is better for the most part, not that there MV's are bad, far from it, it's just that they are not only great musicians, singers and great song writers, they are great performers as well. New album dropping December 11th of this year. The most recent MV from the new album is "Rinne"(reincarnation) it is an extremely hard rock song that boarders on metal. Fantastic stuff! Great reaction by the way. Reminds me of the first time I saw and heard "DICE". I was a hook. line and sinker Band-Maid fan after that. Probably one of the most well crafted rock songs I have ever heard.

Great reaction to a great band! The Ladies are killing it right now, boys you need to up your game 😊 While were on the subject of great bands, take a look at The Warning, a 3 Sister rock band from Mexico. Super talented, and the energy levels are off the scale. I recommend Dust to Dust from Lunario as a good introduction for ya !!!
Band-Maid has done at least one show in the USA each of the last four years. This year, they signed with both Livenation and United Talent Agency here in the US, so I expect their 2020 US tour to cover more of the country than this year's (NYC, Dallas, and LA). UTA and Livenation represent other Japanese acts like Babymetal and One OK Rock; both of those groups are bigger than Band-Maid, but I think we can look at their treatment for a model for how Band-Maid might go in the future. One OK Rock was part of the Warped Tour for a couple of years before having their own 20+ show US tours. Babymetal had a few individual gigs in the US before opening several dates for RHCP in 2018, then having their own US tour this year with 20 shows. So, the point being, keep an eye out for their 2020 tour dates. They tend to come to North America in the September/October time frame (each of the last three years), which is after the Japanese summer music festival season has ended. This band is totally worth traveling for. I live in Atlanta. I went to San Francisco for their 2017 J-Pop Summit show. Traveled to LA and SF for their two shows in 2018. And, I went to NYC, Dallas, and LA for their shows this year. The one really depressing thing about the likelihood of Band-Maid playing a more extensive US tour is the fact that I won't be able to afford to go to all of the shows.

Inkcarceration 2020 at the Ohio State Reformatory in Mansfield on July 11th. Last year this festival drew about 20,000. Babymetal was at Aftershock Music Festival here in my Hometown of Sacramento on October 13th and played to a crowd of 35,000. I caught Band-Maid 13 days earlier in LA. I traveled across Europe to see them last summer and I've seen comments and videos about people traveling half way across the U.S., or even from Australia to the U.S., to see them. There are "live" versions of many of their songs, some post produced official versions and a whole bunch of fan cams of their concerts - ranging from OK to professional level quality. Both will give you an idea of what it is like to experience one of their concerts.
I've been listening to them for years. 🤘🤘
"Dont tell me (live)" the 4:18 version guitar/bass duel amazing Their song "Alone" earned the guitarist kanami her nickname of kanami tsunami due to her spectacular solo the official music video version is usually prefered by people

Huh? who calls kanami as tsunami? no one calls. Do not use the word tsunami to us Japanese as a nickname Are you trying to pick a fight with people who lost their family, friends and lovers by catastrophic disaster 3.11? and Band Made has no song named "Dont tell me" (live)

PLEASE watch the "Don't Tell You Me " Music Video first. People are so quick to get the reaction to the live versions they forget how great the songs are on their own. It would also add tol how great they are live because you would be impressed by the greatness of the song then have that impression be increased 10 fold.

Alone is watershed. It was their first original composition and arrangement.
Love the video
MISA MISA MISA!
Perfect song for a first reaction! Welcome to the rabbit hole, this is a one way trip my friend! For the next one I'd recommend Take Me Higher live! Any song from them is gold though, so anything you pick will be perfect!

Female J-Metal/Rock is my favorite Wabbit hole...for me it started back in the day with Kore Wa Hurricane from OG Bubblegum Crisis...then various anime OS and of course Shojo-S by Scandal in Bleach (still one of my favourite Shonen series)...been watching anime since 1975 and it's my preferred medium for animation 😉
I know that feeling. I feel like you every time they release a new song.
A new Band-Maid addict? Splendid. There is no escape. You're one of US now >mwoohaha!< ;-)
I heard of babymetal about 8 months ago. You're introducing me to these guys.
Band-Maid write the best riffs, and their drummer is CRAZY good
Great reaction.....pretty much the same when I first heard them🤘
It's no surprise you have 155K views for this review(at least 20 of them are me); it's my favorite. I've shared it on Facebook; that's the only platform I'm on. Your response to seeing them for the fist time just adds so much to the performance. I've watched all of your Band-Maid reviews thru "secret MAIKO lips" at least 5 times. Have you done any more songs since then? I keep finding new songs and now have 29 of them on a playlist on my smart phone,so I can listen to them uninterrupted,at home and in my car. Loved that you finally got a poster of them; I wish I could get a copy of that one. They have exploded on here with more and more reviewers; I actually search them out almost every day. I have noticed a few of them have reversed the picture in picture thus having the videos comprise most of the screen; I really like that. Your reviews are still the best, though. Not sure it would work for you,as seeing your room and you is part of the fun. Keep up the good work.

@@wave8359 Yes,and I'm up to 77 songs on my playlist. I still haven't missed a day of listening to them in nearly 3 years. No other band can hold a candle to them.
Next song.// Play Live // Don't you tell me Live // Puzzle Live(riff very hard) // Take me higher Live // Domination Live // Real existence Live // and etc. She play real concert that sound very very good.
I like the fact that you are an old school rocker but over time and thanks to the recommendations you were able to check/hear all these amazing bands. I started with Babymetal and the rest is history 😂❤️🔥
バンドメイドの曲は、あーちゃんのドラムでよりハードでカッコよくなってると思う
Yeah they are so good, and even better live. They did a short US tour about a month or so ago and every show was sold out. I have to tell you that they are even better live. Everyone is incredibly skilled and they just rock and bring incredible energy to all their performances. Their sound has changed a bit over the years as they tried to figure out how they wanted to play and gain experience playing together so going on that journey from their earlier stuff to today is a great ride. They initially had songs written for them, but eventually started writing and composing their own music. Their latest single Rinne from their album coming out in a couple of weeks is definitely a mind-blower. Some of my favorites are Moratorium and The Non-Fiction Days. And if you're in the mood for an incredible instrumental from them, look for Onset. If you can, look for their live performances from their Zep Tokyo concert.
I was a Band-Maid virgin until one week ago. I'm so glad that I had my "cherry popped." But when I lost my Band-Maid virginity, I was in the privacy of my own home. You laid it all out there for the masses! Yours is the most genuine, visceral reaction I've seen. These ladies punch you in the gut, take your breath away and ... I'll try to be delicate here ... get your rocks off simultaneously. They just signed with a major talent agency, United Talent Agency, so I don't think that they'll remain a secret much longer. Be prepared for a global orgasm!

You are now officially a Maidenhead. Welcome aboard.
Glad you found your way to giving Band Maid a listen! Dice is just a little old, now...some years, I think. "Reincarnation" is the latest, and a MONSTER TUNE! But, "DICE", is the ONE tune that just MAKES ME SMILE! CONSTANTLY!
You're hilarious brah! Your soul belongs to five Japanese girls now, resistance is futile! They are one of the best rhythm sections playing today, period. Check out their live stuff, you'll love it!
you r master reaction sir....:)
You really need to check out their live performances, they're really great live and their video for Don't you tell ME is a fun introduction of the band.
