Aurora was 18 in this music video in the winter of 2014-2015. Her real name is Aurora Aksnes, and she is now 27 and she is from Norway, and she writes all her own music and lyrics, and she has released 3 albums and 2 EPs so far, and is currently working on the 4th album. She is definitely using her own layered voice as background vocals, except of course the male voice near the end, which I think is her drummer Magnus Skylstad (no longer her current drummer). Her voice is just as good live, and she is so interesting to watch. Aurora is The Voice in the Disney movie Frozen 2, that is calling to Elsa.

Aurora Aksnes. 27 from Bergen Norway. She wrote this song at age 11. Singer-songwriter, producer, dancer, choreographer and a wonderful soul. She has been touring the world since age 17. She is the siren voice calling Elsa in the Song "Into The Unknown" from the Disney movie Frozen 2. She has a huge catalog of music, interviews, documentaries, live performances on KZread. I hope you react to more from this artist.

Aurora is 27 Years old from Bergen Norway. She writes all her own music and lyrics. She's been writing songs since she was 9 years old. She's self taught on piano and some stringed instruments. This video was filmed in the forest near her home and in her parents' front yard (overlooking the fiord), when she was 18 years old.

Aurora is Norwegian. This is an old video from when she was very young. I’m sure her ‘Weirdoes and Warriors’ (fans) will tell you all you need to know and then some. I would recommend ‘Lucky’ and ‘Through the eyes of a child’ from Nidarosdomen (The Nidaros Cathedral), ‘Churchyard’ and ‘All is soft inside’ from KEXP. Loved your reaction!

it's her layered. as you said: background vocals only in live situations. but don't be fooled by the production, she is at her best with her piano at home. it's 12/8 or 6/8. don't stop by the single video, she has an astonishing repertoire. this song started it's existence when she give it birth in age of 11.

I've been following you for quite a while, and I'm surprised to find that you're new to this magical Norwegian artist. Aurora and Floor Jansen are my favorite vocalists, but Aurora is much more than just a good singer. She's also a fantastic songwriter, producer and performer. In fact, live is where she really shines, as she lives the music and lyrics in her performances. If you want to make a direct comparison, the 2015 Nobel Peace Prize concert version of this song is absolutely epic! Aurora does her own background vocals, and is very hands-on with every aspect of her music and videos (sometimes to the chagrin of others). When you see something original from Aurora, you know it's pretty much all her. She is a true artist and very authentic. With her, it's all about the art.

Lost for words? Dont worry, that happens a lot when seeing Auroras performances. Her music videos and studio stuff are fantastic, but her live stuff are mindblowing! Check out Through the eyes of a child from Nidarosdomen or Murder Song from the Nobel peace Prize concert. A few fun facts: Aurora is her real first name, Aurora Aksnes is her full name. Aurora does 90% of her music, every aspect, except "office stuff" I guess 😅. She buys almost all clothes second hand or vintage, or make the outfits with her sister Victoria who is a fashion designer. Her other sister Miranda is a makeup artist. Aurora did NOT dream about beeing an artist, in fact when the management contacted her she said no. It was her mother that said to her that she should try it.

It is a good thing that Billie Eilish has heard about Aurora, as it was Aurora who inspired her to start making music. And you have maybe heard her voice before - she was "the call from the North" in Frozen II (?). As everyone knows - she is great in the studio - she is exceptional live. If you love a bit of tension being held before finally being resolved - Aurora - Lucky live in Nidarosdomen is a masterpiece, where Aurora's voice, Silja Sol (backing vocals) an entire male choir, a string orchestra, a church organ, harp and everyone else in her band almost life the ceiling of the 900-year-old Norwegian national cathedral. And you are correct - Aurora can love to throw in a tiny little "waltz" in the middle of her songs. On her last record she for good measure threw in an Argentinian tango and the finest accordion solo you have heard on any "pop album" in your life - before breaking into country and western. As I always say - she is to me the most interesting artist on the planet on the alt-indie side of pop music. She is "whole wood" through and through. Good luck with your journey. I am sure everyone is looking forward to it.

Later Silja Sol and others have enchanted us with along with Aurora's inspired poetry and performances. As a 55 year old prog rocker, Aurora came onto my radar via my eldest child- they thought it would be something I'd enjoy. Boy, were they right! I went to see Aurora live in Brixton, London with them on the last tour and it was a magical evening. I've seen so many gigs and enjoyed every single one but that room, that night was special. Aurora is an ethereal presence who loves and is loved in return- everyone was there as themselves, living their best lives as who they were meant to be and all the time being supported and enveloped by the artist on stage. You can't help but fall in love with Aurora- she is something really very special. She is a great writer, singer and performer as well as being a genuinely beautiful human being.

Very good reaction. I liked it a lot. And Aurora is amazing and unique artist from Norway (= you were close ;) ). If you talk about emotions, Aurora has many emotional songs (especially in live performances as she is very expressive too and very "into the song"). And for sure it is right to jump in Aurora rabbit hole as she has so much great songs and performances. She has also her own style + she write and coproduce her own songs. She started to make music on her own from 6 and added English lyrics from 9 - she wrote Runaway song when was 11). Very creative and artistic soul :). Ps. As far I know she use her voice on albums but of course in live performances she harmonize with back up singer and even other persons from her band (she is great with harmonies).

Re: the meter. I've watched a few reacters struggle with it. I think you are right. It's 4/4, but triplets on each beat.

Aurora is not a band it's a person the girl who sings writes the music and the lyrics and is a multistrumentalist. She wrote this song when she was 11.

Aurora is great at giving you the feels. This is my favorite version of "Through the eyes of a child" No instruments, Aurora only on first verse, Aurora with backup harmonies for the remainder. If this doesn't get your emotions going, nothing will. kzread.info/dash/bejne/dXqup9qOfpS0aKw.html I hope you do more Aurora, for yourself if not for your channel. She is an amazing human being!

Great reaction. :) If you can, I want to recommend two songs by another artists. First is Kokia, amazing japanese singer, songwriter, composer, arranger and producer, and her song "Gematria" live performance from Layers ~Lights and Shadows~ concert 2016, this song is indpired on buddhist mantras and lyrics are in not existing language (more correctly it's mix of few languages like japanese, english, italian, french etc and gematria is using there) because, like she said, emotions are the same in all languages. In her music she using back vocals recorded by her, in this song you can hear it. She has insane control when she singing and such beautiful voice. Second is jaoanese band Queen Bee and song "Fire" performance from The F1rst Take KZread channel, there artists have only one take to perform and it's on channel. It's acoustic version, just acoustic guitar and vocal. Their vocalist and songwriter Avu-chan is non-binary person, she feels more like woman and she prefer to be called and treated as woman, she can sing with both male and female voice and her high notes are insane, she's so free when she singing, she's not afraid to use any abilities she has to perform. I think both performances are very interesting for music teacher to react, so I hope you will react to it. :)

Aurora is an incredible artist (from Norway). She writes and arranges her songs herself, she is incredibly authentic, her live performance captivates you, her videos are sensitively designed and meaningful and her songs are very versatile. Two suggestions from me: "It Happened Quiet" (live): kzread.info/dash/bejne/a4lhsJiFod3KebA.html "Queendom" (official video... and one of my favorite songs) kzread.info/dash/bejne/qYmAx7qegc7XlJM.html

At this point, I can't help but feel frustrated when people suggest this version for first-time reactors. Is it good? Absolutely, it's Aurora, and it's 'Runaway.' However, considering it's her debut single, it's evident she likely had little influence over the concept of the video or, at the very least, the fashion choices that were made. Consequently, it falls short in authenticity compared to every video or live performance that followed in her career. In my opinion, newcomers should be directed to "Runaway" from the Nobel Peace Prize Concert in 2015; it serves as the best introduction to Aurora imo. Having said that, I (and likely every fellow commenter here) encourage you to continue your journey with Aurora. If this gave you goosebumps, just wait what's about to come... 😁
