When Aaliyah died, I remember me & my friends talking about her & listening to her music at lunch for days in school. She was only 22 & she was so beautiful & so multi-talented it was like, if someone like her can die, can we die? We basically confronted our sense mortality for the first time. She was the first big celebrity I remember the passing of. And I absolutely loved her distinct sense of style & fashion outside of music and I still do. She did the sexy tomboy look better than anybody else. Other people remember Biggie & Tupac. I remember & still love Aaliyah.

Aaliyah made such an impact in her short time with us (just turned 22). She's one of the few celebrities that I can say no one had anything bad to say about. Everyone loved her. Just a pure soul that was getting ready to take that next step into superstardom, but she and eight other passengers unfortunately passed away in a plane accident-- 19 years ago from the day after yall recorded this. It's all about sex now (emptiness/nastiness). Shoot in the 80's and 90's there were too many amazing singers to keep up - but we kept up - all the good love vibes in music.
