This song in headphones is crazy!!!!
She says "Be quiet. Big boys don't cry." On the studio album they had a girl they knew do that part because her voice was so sexy. There's a video on KZread about making the song. He's just a man refusing to commit even when he knows he wants to. I remember I was like 5, after my dad had left my mom (1972?) he had his new girlfriend babysit me - Diane. God I loved her. She was so kind. We spent a great year together before he left her too. This was her favorite song. She played it every time my dad would disappear. I didn't understand how sad it was back then.. One day just before my 6th birthday she told me, "Davey.. don't fall in love unless you mean it." I never saw her again. I been married for 30 years and I still mean it. Powerful memory. Liked and subscribed.
He’s actually being ironic and it’s written as a tongue and cheek way of saying how in love he actually is. “He sings I'm not in love with you', while subtly giving all the reasons throughout the song why He could never let go of his wife”

The Stains on the Wall is the fighting her and smashing things over the wall and making stains... Not NEW Love but OLD Love you know how we feel when you lost something we can never have back..
