    @@Omnis.satanica.potestas_omnis well he opposes himself in a way, so i think it's fair to believe he's the antagonist and the protagonist. He wishes to wipe out all of humanity to see the sights he saw in armins book and obtain his version of 'freedom' but also wanted to save the people of paradis, and his friends, which means he can't obtain the freedom he wants.

It gives you all the information of when Eren's memories were awakened, shifts the blame of who the 'bad guy' is on the audiences perspective. The beginning of understanding how the Attack Titan conceives time, or rather the lack of, after making contact with someone of Royal Blood. Fabulous! Can't wait to see every last reaction 💜

    It is important to recognize that AoT has a linear storyline, there is no re-doing, no changing the past to change the future. The inheritors of Attack Titan can see the future, but there's little they can do when it comes to changing the future.

  • @MareTranquil

    @MareTranquil

    8 ай бұрын

    This is, honestly, my least favourite aspects of the entire plot of AoT. Why do Grisha end Eren do what they do? Because thats what they do. Case closed. I've kind of started to hate this kind of thing whenever it comes up in fiction.

    @@MareTranquil Spoiler: you have to think a bit outside of the box. Dont forget Eren mentioned that he was experiencing the present,past and future at same time and how it was messing with his head. Imagine feeling all the anger of things in the present and applying it in the "present" . Everything becomes blurry i can imagine. It's hard to Imagine because we are talking about something that is actually not possible to experience as a human. Also he noticed how he wasnt able to change the future, hence why he saved the kid from getting beaten up. he believed he couldnt change things and it simply becomes a self fulfilling prophecy

  • @rabela1810

    @rabela1810

    8 ай бұрын

    @@MareTranquil I look at it this way, minor spoiler ahead leave if haven't finish AoT Attack on Titan is a streamlined story, there is only ONE single timeline, there's no re-doing or changing the past, there cannot be a time paradox. THE PAST CANNOT CHANGE. As the successor of the Attack Titan, its only ability is to grant memories of past, present and future inheritors. However, this is a streamline memory that can only play in a certain direction. If Eren is seeing into Grisha's memory that means Eren ALREADY gotten the Attack titan and Founding titan from his dad so the events the lead up to Eren inheriting the titan (Grisha getting Founding, Mom getting eaten....etc) already happened. There's nothing Eren nor Grisha can do to change their fate here. The law of causality (cause --> consequence) cannot be reversed. If say Eren didn't convince his dad, his dad didn't steal the founding titan, then Eren wouldn't be able to inherit founding titan from his dad and wouldn't be able to see this exact memory. This will create a time paradox. The fact that he is seeing it now means everything has already been written in stone, can't change anything. A good analogy for AoT inheritors would be playing a RPG game with a single ending. There is no alternative ending, you already been spoiled the ending of the game. The plot of the game has already been decided by the game developer. Yes you control the characters, yes you are able to do certain things with the character within the game. But there's a limit of what you can do about the game itself, the story plot, progress and ending of the game doesn't change nor matter what the player do. Say you are at the point of the game that now prompts you to ask Grisha to kill Reiss family, you don't want to, but there's no other option for you to choose. You tried to reload your last save file and find yourself end up in the exact position, they are just destined to die here, you can delay it as long as you want but nor matter how much you wanna delay ur main quest, if you continue the game you will reach the same ending. God knows how much time Eren spent in the path trying to find the option to an alternative ending but like he said in the final movie, he tried countless time but THE VISION OF THE FUTURE just WOULD NOT CHANGE. Eren's only choice is to move forward, click next and watch the story plays out. He's quite powerless in deciding his own fate, hence, a SLAVE of FREEDOM. Ofc this is only my interpretation, you are welcome to interpret it differently.

    5:06 "That'd be a twist?" AoT: "I'll show you a twist!" hahaha To explain this episode, the attack titan and Eren... It doesn't glimpse into the future of its future holders, but rather the future holders can sent memories back to the previous ones. That's why Grisha was asking Eren why he didn't show him everything, including what happens to Carla, which he only finds out later from young Eren. This means Eren Kruger knew about Mikasa and Armin, because Eren gave him that memory, using him as a pawn to set him on a very specific path. Grisha was able to see Zeke, because he saw him from Eren's eyes, because Zeke taking Eren into the memories meant that Eren has those memories, which he could sent back to Grisha. Like when Grisha looked towards Eren while holding the key, he basically had the memory of looking at himself through Eren's eyes, which meant he knew that Eren was in front of him in that moment. Or when Grisha hugged Zeke, he only saw him because Eren was right behind Grisha, looking at the two. That means, the only reason Grisha did what he did, was because Zeke in the future took Eren into those memories, which allowed Eren to send them back to Grisha in the past, grooming him into slaughtering the royal family. So yeah, it was him, it always was, right from the first episode. Eren basically even groomed his own past self onto this path basically, and when he kissed Historia's hand, he then also knew. He knew what he did, he knew what he would do, he knew everything. That's why he was looking so shocked after the kiss, this is why he was so quiet and grew his hair out in the following year before they went to the sea. This is the moment when you realize that AoT is basically the villains tragic backstory. Honestly, it changes the whole show. When you'll do a re-watch you'll pay a lot of attention to not just the Marley warriors now, but also Eren. There's a lot of subtle hints and foreshadowing if you do. Easily one of the best AoT episodes. Btw, your community tab says 4x29 for the second special, aka Part 4? Pretty sure it is 4x30. I'll try to not use any spoilers from that yet though, as not everyone might've seen it at this time but some of your post episode questions are definitely relevant for that one as well. :D Edit: Also kudos for noticing Grisha calling Mikasa his daughter. T_T

    What I like is that also means that Eren gave Grisha and Zeke that moment of reconciliation. Grisha being able to apologize, and Zeke realizing his father did love him. Even with everything Eren did/will do/has done, I see this as him giving a small kindness to his brother and father.

    Grisha knew Zeke was a full-grown adult since the scene when he was asleep on the basement, Eren quickly took a grasp in Grisha as a way to tell him "don't say anything". Eren was not shocked by the fact Grisha woke up by saying Zeke, he was afraid that Grisha ruined everything by mere shock.

    You probably already realized it by now but the attack titan alone isn't able to look into the past. Only the memories of its future inheritors, therefore it only can see visions of the future. But a user with both the attack titan AND the founding titan, not only can you see the past and future. But you can interact and influence change. There is much more to this tho.

    EREN IS HIM! Crazy to know the Attack Titan is why Kruger knew Mikasa and Armin and the fact that Eren was gaslighting his own dad from the future (because he gives eren the titan he gets future eren memories and eren only lets him see bits and parts of that future, and that has guided his dad and previous attack titans on this path) All the times Grisha gets glimpses of his children is so shocking then to see Eren full on gaslight his dad into killing people is WILD Eren is a savage
