First Things to Teach Your PUPPY - COME and DOWN - Easy Puppy Training with Robert Cabral

So you got a brand new puppy... NOW WHAT? You have to train the puppy. In this lesson I'll show you the first things I teach my puppies. It's a short and easy lesson for both the puppy and you. We'll start with the most important thing and that is COME. Our Labrador PUPPY, Mellow, must be motivated to come back to us if she get away. We teach that in a fun motivational way using excitement and treats. You'll be amazed how easy this is to teach.
Then in part 2 we teach Mellow how to LAY DOWN on Command. We do this with a simple luring exercise and some yummy treats. We don't force or correct puppies to teach them, we use motivation. These exercises will work on most any age dog, but the lesson is geared toward my friend Ellen's Labrador puppy Mellow, and she is one sweet little girl. I think you're gonna love the lesson and love Mellow!

One of the things I got from your videos about 4 years ago, was to never punish your puppy while they are learning, I have not. Since then, I've adopted the philosophy that my dog is always learning and hence, has never been punished for a mistake. Result? I have a great relationship with my almost 4-year-old dog, who always tries to please. Thank you.
Happy, clever puppy, she ‘s just lovely. Fun in the teaching and she learned so quickly!

If only ALL dogs were as well trained as this dog is becoming. Was in park today {England} and there are so many untrained dogs - Just dogs that are obnoxious with zero manners to other dogs and people. Why don't people bother to train their dogs? It's so worthwhile and makes for a lovely dog to be around.
