FIRST SHOTS: Compensated BUL Armory Axe FS Hatchet
First shots with the new modifications. Custom length Glock 17 Gen 4 Threaded Barrel, Herrington Arms HC95 Compensator, 11lb recoil spring
**It felt incredibly soft to shoot. I dropped down to an 11lb recoil spring to tune the pistol due to how well the compensator worked. The OEM recoil spring would not allow the slide to cycle back far enough, leaving an empty casing in the chamber. I had a couple of FTFs, so I may swap out the recoil spring to a 13lb one to see if I can get rid of the FTF issues. On the other hand, the new barrel may need to break in a little. I put 250 rounds through and had a couple FTFs. **

Could a comp do well with a axe C hatchet?

I honestly want to port or comp everyone of my pistols if I could. The issue you will probably run into is the Axe C Hatchet slide is slightly shorter than a Glock 19 slide, so buying a Glock 19 threaded barrel and comp will not fit. I ordered a custom length barrel to fit the comp I purchased. It wasn't cheap, and took 5 months. BUL Armory just released its 2024 lineup and they come ported with amazing slide serrations.

@Styxx2018 I was going to go for the tomahawk but it sold out unfortunately. I couldn't even get the dark version of the hatchet, only the stainless. Which u gotta cerakote somehow when it comes in the mail.

Thanks for watching and commenting! I used Herrington Arms HC95, which is actually for a Glock Gen 5, but it fits this Glock 17 Gen 3 clone from BUL Armory. I had to do a few things first to get it to function. First, I had to sand the front of the dusk cover to make that half moon opening larger larger in order to allow clearance for the compensator. I used 120 grit sand paper and a small rod/cylinder and slowly sanded it down. Second, I had to find a custom barrel maker to manufacture a custom length Glock 17 barrel because the BUL Armory slide is slightly shorter than an OEM Glock 17. If you installed the compensator on a standard Glock 17 threaded barrel, it leaves about a 1/2" gap from the end of the slide to the end of the compensator, which looks terrible. Third, I bought a 11lb reduced power recoil spring and swapped it out. Because the compensator worked so well, the OEM 18lb recoil spring was too strong, not allowing the slide to fully cycle and ejecting the spent casing. Hope that helps!! Thanks, again!!! ***P.S. I had a company called Jarvis Inc make a custom length Glock 17 barrel to fit the compensator. I sent them my slide and compensator in order to make the match grade barrel. Thanks for watching!!!

@@DookeyRidr It wasn't available at the time when I bought it. When this launched, the Tomahawks were the older models and only available in silver in the U.S. Plus, when I bought it, no one in the U.S. had BUL Armory in stock; everything came directly out of Miami, FL. Heck, my Custom Glock Barrel maker had my Axe FS Hatchet for over 6 months before I got it back a few months ago. Well worth the wait, as the custom barrel measures 5" to the comp opening, making it my longest (and therefore) my softest shooting pistol. Thanks for watching 👀 and leaving a comment.
