My New Holland 654 took a little for me to get use to, a couple stumbles in the beginning. Mine was the string I used, it was called cordage, and it was difficult to get use to the tensions and adjustment of the knives. As I recall during my first 100 bales I had to get off and help hand cut the twine, cordage. After some trial and error, I found the right formula/adjustment and went to where I only had to get off half the time. The next couple of times I found out that the cordage wasn't what I wanted and went to the same type plastic twine your using. You'll figure yours out in time, just try to get all the information you can on it through a manual and watch some videos on it, that will help. I didn't have KZread at the time so mine was trial and error. Good luck and thanks for sharing, hope all goes well for you! Have a great day!!

Once you get used to the baler and it runs ok, faster ground speed is better. Cram the hay in it. At least that’s what I do with my New Holland br770A.

Congratulations on making your first round bale! As long as you have a good sized windrow you won't have to do to much weaving side to side with that narrow pickup. That quick hitch makes me nervous though 😬

Looks like it will do the job. We got 5 inches of rain here overnight! Have a great day.

Congratulations on your first round bale! If the narrow pickup becomes an issue I assume JD sells a kit to put rubber crowder wheels on it.

Very nice. Baling up loose hay to fresh hay big difference but I think you did great. I think running it at the required rpm would produce good results. I'm wondering why it didnt run the twine the whole distance of the bale? Should be able to trip it and it runs the whole bale and back again. Well I think you did great. Have a good day sir.

Good way to give it a test drive! When you actually get to baling be cautious of that quick hitch possibly getting into the drive line. I know of people tearing a driveline out with their 3 point arms. Take care.

That's a good plan to start with old beat up square bales. No pressure of having a field cut and letting the sky know you want hay. We only did square bales as that was the market we had, so I'd go slow like that the first time round baling too.
