This is my first ever ride on a KTM 4 stroke - the 2022 KTM 250 SXF. Big Thanks to Cayden for letting me take it out for a spin. Absolutely loved the bike and would definitely put one in my garage if I had the spare cash!

4 stroke are definitely easy to ride. I have a 2 and a 4 stroke, really fun to ride them back to back. I could live with either one if I had to pic just one it wouldn’t matter. Bikes a just fun any time you can get out and ride.

Yeah it is a great spot for beginners. It's actually where I gained a bunch of jump confidence when I first started riding moto
I got rid of my 2 stroke SX for a SXF and have no regrets. The comfort and traction is what sold me and made me change.

@@DerekHallman Yeah man they kick up some dust, no doubt!! Love seeing Robert's in full busy mode though, such a good time. Yeah, I'm hoping to! Hoping to go to CCDR tomorrow and not sure about Sunday yet, watching the weather.
Used to love 2t soooo much and hated 4t but right as I hoped on a race 4t I was getting lap times that were faster better suspension more comfortable and feels like it pulls the same as a powerband but the whole time and more controllable and easier to jump, I don’t think I’ll ever go back to 2t now.
Dude you should get a 4 stroke. I love both the 2 stroke and 4 stroke videos. I have a yz125 and a RMZ250, I love them both and it would be sweet to see you have both 4stroke and 2strokes
@DerekHallman

Gonna try to get another one this year. What year is your RMZ?
What modifications would I need to do to make a 2022 KTM 250 SXF into a decent enduro bike? I will not do anything very hard or fast with it. Just drive it for fun at the local enduro track.
I love the ktm’s it must be so fun to ride on that!

As soon as you jumped the 2nd jump I got flash backs lol
I wish i could have that in the future

You hear that rattle, I believe it's the swing arm, might be that long bolt needs tightened up. It's impressive it held up, I noticed it when you would jump. And on every bump. I love ktm, my sx 250 2 stroke, I laid her over in the creek and fired her right up afterwards. I'd say that's the only thing a 2 stroke can do that a 4 stroke can't. But 4 strokes are easier to work on and requires less maintenance overall. I'm looking for a good Baja 500 bike. Any suggestions is helpful, I'm looking for something with options. Or that I can easily modify.
You should definitely get a 250 four stroke I like seeing both

So lucky that you can have a 4wheeler on this track, I nothing close to my home in Canada, Quebec to ride with my Honda 400ex :(
'23 is meant to be a big step up, motor more like the yammy with a new wider bore and styling/ergo's more like a honda.
Beautiful machine! Get a good full- synthetic engine oil in it after break-in. You should get a 4- stroke! Better lap times & more comfort by far. You look like you are 100% at home on it.

Did the bike feel heavy compared to the 150? There was a huge difference for me between the 150 and the kawi, one of the main reason i went strictly 2 stroke,
@DerekHallman
2 жыл бұрын
Yeah absolutely felt heavier. The added weight does make the front end traction feel better though. I always feel that 4 strokes front wheel traction feels better than 2 strokes. Maybe its because of the extra weight?

Been lookin at some 👀
is it equal to 250 two stroke in terms of power and acceleration , ? how much power difference,
@DerekHallman
2 жыл бұрын
Nah a 250 two stroke feels significantly faster than a 250f. The 250 SX two stroke has about 8-10 more horsepower I think.
@v8monster186
2 жыл бұрын
@@DerekHallman is 8-10 horsepower make that much of difference in acceleration ??
@DerekHallman
2 жыл бұрын
@@v8monster186 Yes it is very significant difference considering the hp to weight ratio of these lightweight mx bikes. The 250 two stroke is lighter than the 250 four stroke also. That 10 horsepower difference is comparable to adding 160hp to a 3500lb car. Would you notice the difference between a 200hp and a 360hp car of the same weight?
@v8monster186
2 жыл бұрын
@@DerekHallman definitely undeniable . you're right . and i also wonder to see that about the power difference between 450f and 250 2t . do you have experienced them both ? I guess 450 should be much faster and responsive than 250 2t . right ? power difference between them is about 5hp but 4t get power from low rpm all the way up to the top . 2t is just mid to top though .

@DerekHallman
2 жыл бұрын
@@Mk8__Dan No it isn't. The 250sxf on the dyno produces about 41 horsepower. My 150sx on the dyno produces about 40 horsepower. The power on my two stroke hits much much harder than the 250f so I'd argue it feels faster. The 250sxf has a broader and easier to use power curve.
