sethandrion youtube you can rebuild a top end in 30min

braydon. when you or your dad are on the bike you gotta watch the engine braking, you have to remember these 2stroke bikes get their lube from their gas. and when you are slowing down at say the end of a field the bike only gets the lubrication from idle even though the engine is still spinning at up to 8000rpm which can cause your top end to wear faster or even seize from the lack of oil

Dylan Monnelly it's a cross between a trials bike and a dirtbike. it sounds different because the header is small for more low end like a trials bike. it probably doesn't have a high top speed for that reason

I'm an old guy like your dad. :-) I started riding about 39 years ago. I switched to riding and racing crotch rockets in the 90's; and am just now considering a leap back to dirt bikes. I'm 6', 210 pounds. This bike seems like a good fit for my height weight, no? One thing I do know, last dirt bike I rode was a 87 CR 500. A long time ago. they're a lot lighter and more powerful nowadays I gather. Anyone have thoughts on this bike for a returning rider?

You feel hunched over because it's a free ride, there made for long rides were your not standing, you could just buy handlebars that have a more motocross bend.

You need to turn the idle up on the bike. It sounds like it's about to die when you have it in neutral just sitting.

Thanks for the helpful insight on the freeride. I was debating between getting the freeride or the 150 xc-w, and I think I'll get the freeride after watching this. I thought it wouldn't have any power and would suck, but it looks like it can really rip.

cr is a bit more snappy I would say but kx would probably have better top speed

jack wasley hard to say the 200 would probably go faster but accelerating would be a different story I think

tell your dad to pull in the clutch on deceleration and don't engine break because the oil for a two stroke is in the gas engine breaking is starving the bike of oil

He Ain't rebuilding the kx because he can't handle it
