This song was based on a true story they was a rock & roll band in Ohio and was playing a club in Cleveland .The club was hoping for something funkadelic in the audience a brother shouted the now- famous lyrics and the rest is history 🥰I’m 63 and feel young again listening and watching reactions ✌️

Gotta Love it!!! The 70's & 80's were the Best! Did you notice that the men & women got Fro's then? From my memory, It was a Salutation & a Complement from whites to our black brothers & sisters. The feeling was Unity Together. It was Great! So much love & togetherness. Today, it seems that black youths & others view our past as an insult? They just don't know how united & happy we were. It was a Celebration of Blacks & Whites Uniting Together. It was soooooooo Very Awesome back then! Life today is so negative & divisive. Wish our culture & unity had stayed the same as then. I feel Blessed to have lived those days. ..Unity & Freedom for All. We all had so much Peace, Love & Joy. Sad that it went away.

So here’s the true story about this song, confirmed by Donnie Iris(a former member) after an interview at the studio of Cool 101 in Meadville, Pennsylvania. The lead singer at the time was dared in a bar somewhere in Pittsburgh to write a song between sets(15 minutes) and this became their biggest hit. By the way welcome down here!

Please make reaction to Diana Ankudinova - the most unique young talented singer. One of my favourite things to find and enjoy is music that gives me chills and goosebumps. I was cruising KZread recently and discovered a Russian talent show contestant that did just that, with one of the best, most unique voices I've heard in many years. Her delivery was nothing short of magical and I searched out more and more and more, and...more chills. I was stunned to find that the first performance I heard was when she was 14!!!! She's now 17 and still developing. She sings in Russian, French, English and Arabic. The covers she performed on that show are very popular on KZread. Many KZreadrs publish reactions on these performances, which include the ethnic song "River" (in a new musical arrangement), "Blizzard", "Wicked Game", "Human", "Derniere Danse", "Helwa Ya Baladi" and others. Please react to one of Diana's songs and I promise she will surprise you.

I happen to listen to Hippy Radio. I like that old time music from my youth. I listened to this song on AM radio before the transition to FM . Back then FM was relegated to literally elevator music. music they played as mood music in elevators. we used to tune two AM radios on either side of the station for stereo effect

I remember that song when I was first stationed in California in I think 1976 - 78, while in the USAF. I think every NCO club played it at least once a night and I remember seeing a terrible rendition of it done by a local live band at the NCO club at a radar station as well. Real fun song and it used to get everyone involved. Anything by Earth, Wind and Fire used to be very popular as well. Thanks for this videos! I brings back maybe fun memories.

Hah hah, same! This was our funk dance jam back in '76 when it came out.🤣 Rob Parissi, who originally formed the band back in the early 70's did a second round with some different band members in 1975, and this was released in 1976. It was sort of a one-hit wonder, but Rob went on after the band finally broke up in 1979 to write and work with other artists
