    System of a Down are from my hometown LA, they're Armenian-Americans from Glendale, but I'm half-Persian and have always related to and loved them. Toxicity is a landmark record and I'm proud how they use their platform and clout to speak up for Palestinians and Armenians across the planet. They are true rock stars who give no fucks but the music and their message.

    I was fortunate enough to see SOAD at Ozzfest a million years ago. They were SO good that I cried...the energy was crazy. 20,000 people were on their feet & singing along with fists in the air. Absolutely beautiful.

    That part at the end is called a breakdown, and it's the greatest part in every metal song. The hardcore/deathcore scene is all build ups and breakdowns and it's great. This is just Hard Rock from the early 2000's.

    SOAD concerts are the best. Saw them on tour at 2018. When they played the Prison Song. Everyone went craaaazy. It was like a wave of people pushing each other. I could see from a distance 3 groups started a literal firepit and moshed around it.

    I was at a show on the queen mary and saw a girl who couldn't have been more than 5ft tall get knocked by a dude twice her size and get back up screaming like a banshee before jumping back into the pit. One of the best mosh pit moments I've ever witnessed.

    "someone's getting punched" - that's the thing about music like this, you can't even imagine the goodwill in a moshpit sometimes. I can say of every live show I've ever been to, the ones with a moshpit always felt safest in terms of people looking out for and after each other.

    Always think that the reason that rockers and metalheads are so laid back (besides the dope) is because the aggression is taken out in a socially acceptable way, the mosh pit and the dancing. Its raw energy.

    As someone who is a lover of all genres from all over the world. I've fallen in love with your videos. Especially as you explore rock and metal, bands I've listened to since I was a kid, like disturbed, tool, SoaD. I absolutely love seeing your reaction to these bands because it brings me back to when I first discovered them all those years ago. The hype, the confusion, the feeling you feel in your soul from it. I love seeing someone who has a pure appreciation and love for music in general. Genres are borders and not many can hop across borders like you are. Mad respect.

    That's how SOAD is. They're Armenians who went to the same Armenian school in California. But I do know the singer, Serj grew up there as a kid up until 7, I think. He remembers bombs dropping and the death. Their music, as weird as it gets, also talks about the shit that went on and how Turkey still denies the genocide against theirs people.

    This reaction is everything. I feel like so many people just write off SOAD from the get go because they're different, when that's what makes them a great band.     Which one tho? The into song on Mezmerize or the outro on Hypnotize? Both are fire tbh, but for me the intro Soldier Side on Mezmerize takes the cake. The clean tone on the guitar with both Serj and Daron singing gives me chills to this day.

    I’m really glad that you fell in love with SOAD man. I have been a huge fan of them since i was around 10 years old, my first cd i ever owned was “steal this album” by them. As a hispanic guy living in Puerto Rico i was obviously the odd one out, but to this day I listen to all of their stuff on a daily basis.

    As someone who grew up listening to ALL of these rock songs you react to then later on brushed up on my good old school rappers and now rap is usually my go to. I thank you for these videos and your fair and honest point of view, I've always felt certain aspects of each genre play super well into the other and, as a general rule of the universe, music IS supposed to bring us all together, even if we don't bang the same thang.     I LOVED their show during Ozzfest, it was one of my all-time favorite shows I've been to... then I was able to see them a second time and was so happy. SOAD is still my top band of all time since I was 14 and I'm 28 now.

    Edwin Gaxiola metal & rap have so many collaborations over the years. So many Rappers love metal bands & so many metal bands love Rap, the stereotypical “They don’t mix” is sad cuz there are so many similarities & artistic substance with both genres, especially when together.
