He just had a rare magnetism and charm that was palpable to everyone. Flamboyant and humble at the same time. Bursting onto the scene during the home television boom did not hurt one bit either. Dying young completely cemented The Aura of Elvis.

Love your comment Diedre. You are correct… no one competes with Elvis. There’s a seventeen year old Norwegian girl that comes close though. Angelina Jordan is a young girl with an old soul and she LOVES the music from yesteryear. She has covered a number of Elvis songs and she’d be the first one to tell you that music really isn’t a zero-sun competition. Angelina always pays respect to the artist she covers and at the same time she transforms the song into something totally new. I hope you enjoy Angelina’s slowed down take on Elvis’ classic. You will hear a lot about her in the coming year. She is finally finishing high school and her family has finally given her a green light to pursue her passion. She lives and breaths Music. ❤️👣 She was ELEVEN when she recorded this. Here’s a link to her cover of “Can’t Help Falling in Love”… m.kzread.info/dash/bejne/onaD0aaRdseqZ5M.html

This was an intimate setting with the audience members sitting around him. You could see how relaxed & at ease he was. He had a great voice & could sing anything whether it was ballads, gospel or rock.

To think that this incredible, one-of-a-kind performer never got to tour Europe/the world, is simply a musical tragedy. He would be truly amazed, humble as he was, people would kill (not literally😜)to get tickets. When he performed in Vegas and on tour, people would come from every corner of the world, Europe, Australia, Japan, England, you name it. He wanted to go, he said so in many interviews. He died 42 years old, totally worn out from serious health issues, drug dependency and creative disappointment/boredom. Loved by millions to this day, we lost a treasure when Elvis passed away.

Elvis was one of the most beautiful (not handsome: BEAUTIFUL) men that has ever walked the planet. He was born on January 8, 1935 in Tupelo, Mississippi, in a 2 room shack of a house his dad built with money he borrowed from his boss. That's how dirt poor they were. He was one half of identical twins; the other boy - Jesse Garon - was stillborn. They were so poor, that Jesse Garon was buried in a shoebox in an unmarked grave. At Graceland they have a plaque with his name on it in his memory. Elvis always got along with the black community and learned a lot about music from his friends of color. Also, according to the one drop rule, Elvis would not be considered white, since he has Cherokee ancestors on both the Smith (his mother) and the Presley (his father) sides of the family. His paternal grandfather, Jesse Dunning Presley, was not happy that his two sons, Elvis' father Vernon and his brother Vester, married two sisters, Gladys and Clettes who were known to have Cherokee blood in their family tree. J.D. Presley was quite the racist a-hole, often drunk and a philandering husband to Minnie Mae (they were actually separated long before they finally divorced in 1954) who was always competing with his sons Vester and Vernon and who was known to abuse his kids when drunk. J.D. was was publicly against race mixing and was in denial about the Cherokee blood in his own family tree. It was more publicly known that the Smith family had Native blood in their family tree, so when both his sons fell for 2 Smith sisters and Vernon, on top of that, was still a minor at 17 when he eloped with Gladys who was 4 years older than him, Jesse was totally pissed off. As a child, Elvis already had many friends in the black community at the time his family was one of 4 "white" families that lived in the predominantly black neighborhood The Hill, just across from Shake Rag. His childhood friend Sam Bell said that some of the (black) kids in that neighborhood had lighter skin than Elvis (kzread.info/dash/bejne/fqZ6pduHfdnAh84.html). One of Elvis' bodyguards once said that he thought it was a miracle Elvis got into Humes High School in Memphis, because it was "lily white". Elvis wanted to be more open about his Native ancestry, but his manager "colonel" Tom Parker (real name Andreas van Kuijk) was against it because he was afraid it might cost Elvis fans (and himself money). They did have Elvis play characters in his movies though where he had Native American blood (Flaming Star, G.I. Blues, Stay Away Joe). Once Elvis had his own (apprentice) job learning to be an electrician, he saved up his money and bought his clothes in the same style that many of his friends of color wore. He was called a (forgive me, just stating facts here) "n-lover" and got beaten up several times too. Later, when he was an established star, he would not perform at places where the members of color of his back-up band/orchestra weren't allowed.

Elvis wasn't just a superstar my dear, Elvis was whole damn galaxy, and the likes of which we shall never see again. Everyone else was just an imitator. When this man died the whole world wept, I'm old enough to remember, the global outpouring of grief and tears all around this globe of ours. I'm so happy that you are a new fan and I hope you get to know more and more about him. Elvis was also not only the greatest entertainer the world has ever had, but Elvis was also an exceptional human being, and the humblest and most caring and giving man one could have had the good fortune to meet and know. Elvis Presley is an echo, that will never die. He remains to this day almost 50years since his death, UNSURPASSED. Thank you so much for your video.

In it, he is singing the song (a little slower & better than here) to his "fiance's" grandmother after sweetly presenting her with a music box at her (the grandmom's) birthday party. I know you would love it! In fact, on your personal time, you should watch the whole movie; it's probably my favorite of all 31 of his films!

I've always loved this song, but like ten years ago I dreamed about my own funeral. That's the kind of dream that would make anyone wake up feeling uneased to say the least, but this was the song playing, and it made my dream so beautiful that not only did I not wake up sad for dreaming about my own mortality, but I told literally everyone in my life that could make it happen that this was the song I wanted to be played at my funeral, and everytime I listen to this song with one of them I remind them of my dream and I tell them again, every time, "Please. I'm not kidding. Do this last thing for me".

One of my fav Elvis song performance is 'Fame and Fortune'. He was just released from the army and performed at Frank Sinatra's TV show. It's one of his slower songs but he sang it as only he can.

VoicePlay does a wonderful acapella version of this. Also, Geoff Castellucci covers Elvis' last recorded single: Down Low. You will enjoy both.

No one was better than the king, Elvis Presley! There will never be another, and there will never be another entertainer who will top him. It is indisputable. I enjoyed your reaction.

If you want to hear the his remarkable vocal control listen to Surrender. He drifts effortlessly between falsetto, baritone and operatic power. It's said he never played to an empty seat.

As an Elvis Impersonator, when your in the moment there seems to be a definitive emotional connection between giving your audience a resonate soul exchanging experience that only Elvis can provide. It is hard to describe those “out of body” whispers as they flutter thru your entire existence. I am so humble and grateful for being allowed to keep Elvis with us. TCB ‘-,

You still don't have your head around the Presley phenomenon. His first national hit was released in January, 1956. A year later, he had sold 10,000,000 records. His charisma captivated his fans, even at the end of his life when he had become a caricature. The fans were so devoted that concert venues routinely announced "Elvis has left the building" so the fans would go home.

This is part of the 1968 televised special, "Singer Sewing Machines Presents - Elvis" which is very commonly and incorrectly titled by almost everybody as "The '68 Comeback Special"
