Welcome to Nemophila. This band has just about the most varied musical output you could wish for. Although they're primarily a metal/metalcore band, their songs range from beautiful ballads through rock, pop, punk, rap all the way to brutal screaming metal. Every member is an outstanding musician. This performance was an online show. This song was sung to Tamu, the drummer, who had just returned from maternity leave. Her return, combined with the chaos caused by Covid, made it a very emotional show, hence the superimposed clips of the members crying. This song is kind of the soul of Nemophila: at their live shows it is often the emotional peak and Mayu sometimes struggles to sing all the words for crying. To get an idea of the breadth of their work, I'd suggest 'Raitei', 'Odyssey', 'Rise', 'Adabana', 'Hypnosis', 'Oiran' (the most recent live version) and 'Zen', but they have no bad tracks so anything works! The band formed as a session band for the vocalist, Mayu. It was supposed to be a temporary thing but they worked and got on so well together that they decided to stay together as a permanent band. Two of the members, singer Mayu and drummer Tamu are moms as well as musicians! This sweet and emotionally uplifting moment in their lives was captured beautifully by the band and their crew. Nemophila and Lovebites are out there getting married, having babies, and embracing motherhood. It ain't easy trying to save Japan from mass depopulation and be a Godzilla level touring musician at the same time. They truly are awesome. ❤

This was performed during the covid shutdown in Japan. So the bands would perform Live Stream concerts. Some were free others you had to pay. Next - "Seize the Fate" live, they are at full roar.

This song is like a spare heart I can reach out to whenever in need...the one line "I just kept on stubbornly blooming"...man... Since you seem to be taking a dive into the Japanese female rock scene, I highly, highly recommend Mindset by Gacharic Spin.

Filmed during a live stream during the pandemic and the preparation for it. The drummer had just returned and they dedicated this to her and her first child, a daughter. Hence the tears.

Great reaction. Nemophila are very unique in that they also have a wide range of covers . The covers done for Japanese bands helped a lot of us finding more new sounds. They initially did the first couple of covers to get their name out there then the pandemic hit and covers was a great way to keep busy and stay in contact with their fans. Nemophila Fridays is now a constant with many of their new tracks and covers released on Friday's. The band are like family and they are so happy together but kick ass at the same time.

Funny you mention Ningen Isu as both the vocalist (Mayu) and drummer (Tamu Murata) are fans of the band. Of course others in Nemophila and Japanese in general are fans of the iconic band. This is one of Nemophila’s softer ballad type songs. This particular performance was celebrating Tamu-Sans return from maternity leave (2 children) and the left guitarist (normally) Hazuki-San on her birthday. They had performed this before, but if I’m not mistaken (I could be), this was near the pandemic times without a live audience. They started as simply a group of supporting artists for Mayu on a one time show in 2019, but loved the music and each other enough to keep going. Then came the pandemic and huge difficulties for musicians. They made it through the times and are now one of the most admired bands (of many) rock/metal groups in Japan, or even worldwide. ❤️🌸

Superb band never disappoint

This song is welcoming the drummer back from maternity leave after having a baby I can't remember if it was her first or second baby she has two. The singer also has a baby. For more kick ass songs try Rise ,Revive , Zen( very screamy) or AMA-TE-RAS.

And now to something completely different... Zen, the live version 😜Possibly my favorite song by them. They play some different styles of music (metal), which their song called just that, Style, is a perfect example of.

Enjoyed the reaction. This is one of their few ballads, and I'd venture to say the most popular of their ballads. They're typically a bit heavier. My favorite of theirs is "Adabana". I'd throw my vote in for that one next.

Life is a nice song. So good. It is their softest song though. Nemophila have some really hard ones also. I do not know our preferences. And their tears and happiness here is because the drummer has just got a child. What an amazing group Nemophila is they’re so versatile and do so many great covers a little more about this song I believe it was Tamu the drummers first performance after her mandatory maternity leave and Mayu the vocalist had announced she was pregnant also Hazuki guitarist celebrated her birthday the song is called life and they celebrated so many aspects of life in this one performance you do see the girls getting emotional which always melts my heart with the message of this song please someone correct me if I’m wrong as I’ve only read this in other comments
